Here's an example of the plot idea: Warm drinks and cold hands — the perfect excuse for a cozy moment.

Any author who decides to participate in the Secret Santa Event will have a chance to pick up an idea from the Santa’s Bag of Inspiration! Then you’ll become a Santa yourself by gifting a great work based on somebody’s plot!

❄ On the 18th of December we will publish news with the link to the Santa’s Bag of Inspiration. You will receive a festive plot idea that you can base your story on;

❄ Put the text of the plot idea you get in the description of your work or notes so that the person who submitted the idea could easily find it;

❄ You can publish your works from the very moment you get the festive plot idea. The event will take place from the 18th of December to the 8th of January;

❄ The more festive plot ideas you use, the more people you’ll make happy!

👑 Coins for participation in the event will be distributed over the period of the 9th and 10th of January in the order of confirmation form submission 👑

✅ Your work must have a minimum of 700 words!

✅ Your work should be based on the festive plot idea you have received from Secret FicFan Santa and marked with a special event tag Secret FicFan Santa 2024;

✅ The work you submit must be a new one (i.e., not published on FicFan previously). However, you may transfer your works from other websites if you are the author and these works match the tags we announce);

✅ You must fill the CONFIRMATION FORM to get your 250 coins from Santa!

✅ You should add the text of the plot idea you get in the description of your work or notes so that the person who submitted the idea could easily find it;

✅ You may write as many works as you want. However, you can get 250 coins only once per this event;

✅ If you don't like the festive plot idea you have received, you can always try for another one;

We're all waiting for our Secret Santa and the festive season to begin. But there's no rest for the wicked! So... Dear Authors! You get a unique chance to win a Premium Account!

This time our rules are simple, and they require a little bit of cooperation from your faithful readers. From the 20th of November to the 4th of December you can participate in the challenge and compete for one of the 3 prize-winning places!

❗ Writer’s Exercises offer you to write a fanfic or an original work with a set of special conditions specifically for you.

Sometimes less is more, and you may get inspired by the limitations these writers exercises can offer you. Here is the example of one of the Writer’s Exercises:

You got a Writer's Exercise! Write any work based on this exercise: Your character opens a desk drawer and finds 3 objects that they didn’t put there. By the end of your story there’s only one item left. What happens to the other two? What are these objects? Good luck!

Once again it’s this time of the year when we start thinking witches, pumpkins, ghouls and all the creepy things lurking out there in the dark! Maybe it’s not the most magical time of the year but it surely is the scariest for Hallowe’en is out there! This year we are trying to find an answer to the ultimate question of life, the Universe and everything, and that question is… who is the most supreme creature of darkness out there: a Vampire or a Werewolf?

This year we offer you an opportunity to have your say in this matter by joining team V or team W! V is for Vampire, W is for Werewolf, pretty easy, eh?

Our dear authors have to choose the team they would like to root for and write 3 stories with the prompts provided for this very team. All the works must contain vampires if you chose team V, or werewolves if you chose team W. All the works must also be based on the prompts you received or the prompts should be organically quoted in the text.

Each and every author who writes 3 stories for their respective team based on the prompts will get a reward of 300 coins!

When the event is over, we will count the number of works for each team, and the team that wins the competition with the most of the works will get a bonus prize of 50 coins on top!

Example:

Team V finishes with 60 works at the very end of the event. Team W finishes with 63 works. Team W wins, and every author from team W gets an extra bonus of 50 coins on the top of their 300!

✅ Each work (regardless of whether it is prose or poetry) should contain at least 1000 words, including prepositions and articles, as well as have at least one completed semantic block by the end of the challenge (chapter, part);

✅ Your work may be fandom-based or original, any type, and contain any tags, but the plot should be focused mainly on the tag of the day;

✅ You may publish a translation on condition you have original author’s permission for that and the original text matches the tag of the day;

✅ You may choose an existing Request to base your work on as long as your work matches the tag of the day;

✅ You can work with co-authors, betas and gammas, but only the main author who submits the confirmation form will get the coins;

✅ During the week you may use the same or different fandoms and any pairings you like;

✅ After the challenge is over you may feel free to continue the story if you wish;

✅ You can choose any rating you want, and you may use different rating for different works during the challenge week;

✅ You may write as many works as you want with the tags of the day. Please, keep in mind that only the authors who complete the full challenge and use every tag provided will receive the reward of 300 coins;

✅ Сollaborative writing teams are welcome to participate (but in this case only one author will get the reward);

✅ You may publish each work as a separate one or as a collection of drabbles with the challenge tags for each part. If you choose to publish the collection of drabbles, you should add a new tag every time you publish a new part;

✅ You may publish work late during the week of the event or in random order. For example, if you decide to publish your work when a new tag is already announced, you can do that. But keep in mind that in this case, your work might get less attention from the readers.

✅ If you want to write more than one work, you may use Secret FicFan Santa's sack again and get another festive plot idea. IMPORTANT! You can get 250 coins only once per this event;

✅ If you don't like the festive plot idea you have received, you can trade it with other authors participating in the event, or you can ask for another one from Secret FicFan Santa;

✅ Only finished works based on the festive plot ideas qualify for this event. However, after the event is over you may feel free to continue the story if you wish;

✅ Сollaborative writing teams are welcome to participate. You may also publish a collection of drabbles with all the festive plots you get. Each plot should be published as a separate chapter. To get the coins you should submit the link to the chapter under your authorship;
