FicFan's Birthday Event!
Hello and welcome to the first annual FicFan Birthday Event!
We love presents, you love presents, everybody loves presents. So, why don’t we get the party started?
As you might have guessed, it’s FicFan’s Birthday soon, and we would like to thank each and everyone of you who decided to join our community. We are happy to have you here, beautiful and creative individuals!
The most difficult part of attending a birthday party is usually choosing the present, so we decided to make it simple for you. We have composed a wish-list with only two points in it: works from authors and love from readers!
And we are happy and ready to give you small presents in return!
For Authors:
🎁 During the period from the 7th of November to the 14th of November you can give us a gift of your work (500 words minimum!) and get 50 coins for every single one!
For Readers:
🎁 During the period from the 7th of November to the 14th of November you can earn 25 coins for each of the 7 tasks we have prepared for you!
If you want to participate and give us a present, you’ll just need to read the rules below.
How it works for Authors:
We have prepared 3 variants of challenges to your liking: Tag Tickets, Prompt Tickets and Writer’s Exercises.
❗ All Tag Tickets have a choice of two tags for you to work on. Here is the example of one of the Tag Tickets:
You got a Tag Ticket! Write any work with any of these tags: Fantasy or Family business. Double respect for using both of the tags! Good luck!
It means that you have to write a fanfic or an original work based on one of the tags or on both of them if you really like to give yourself an extra challenge. When you are ready to post your work, don’t forget to add the tag you got and a special event tag FicFan Bday.
❗ All Prompt Tickets have a prompt that you can base your work on. Here is the example of one of the Prompt Tickets:
You got a Prompt Ticket! Write any work based on this prompt: I laugh along but inside I know it’s true… Good luck!
It means that you have to write a fanfic or an original work based on this prompt. When you are ready to post your work, don’t forget to add a special event tag FicFan Bday.
❗ Writer’s Exercises offer you to write a fanfic or an original work with a set of special conditions specifically for you.
Sometimes less is more, and you may get inspired by the limitations these writers exercises can offer you. Here is the example of one of the Writer’s Exercises:
You got a Writer's Exercise! Write any work based on this exercise: Your character opens a desk drawer and finds 3 objects that they didn’t put there. By the end of your story there’s only one item left. What happens to the other two? What are these objects? Good luck!
When you are ready to post your work, don’t forget to add a special event tag FicFan Bday.
Rules of the event:
✅ Each work must have a minimum of 500 words! Yes, that’s right, only 500 words!
✅ The work you submit must be marked with a special event tag FicFan Bday;
✅ The work you submit must be a new one (i.e., not published on FicFan previously). However, you may transfer your works from other websites if you are the author and these works match the tags we announce);
✅ All the coins are distributed AT ONCE. It means that once you have published the work, you must fill the CONFIRMATION FORM. We will be sending the coins EVERY DAY, so you could use them right away!
✅ You should add the description of your Prompt Ticket or Writer’s Exercise in the Notes to your work;
✅ You may publish your works starting 7th of November only! The works published before the 7th of November will not be counted.
🚫 It is prohibited to:
🚫 Assign a special event tag to the works that were published before/after the event;
🚫 Assign a special event tag to the works that don't comply with the rules of the event;
🚫 Publish works that violate the Rules of our website (otherwise, you will be banned).
How it works for Readers:
❗ We have 7 tasks for you, dear Readers, to spread love and make authors and us smile. You can choose to go through all of the tasks or you can pick only some of them, it’s your call.
❗ Each task will bring you 25 coins. If you complete all the tasks, you will get a total of 175 coins!
❗ All the coins are distributed AT ONCE. It means that once you have completed the task, you must fill the CONFIRMATION FORM. We will be sending the coins EVERY DAY, so you could use them right away!
❗ You can start with the tasks from the 7th of November (one task per day) and proceed till the 14th of November. The tasks completed before the 7th of November will not be counted.
Tasks for Readers:
✅ Create a collection of the works you read and liked (5 works minimum!) and send us the link to this collection via the CONFIRMATION FORM.
✅ Write a request for a fanfic or an original work. The request should be a real one (we will check!), not a few words, alright? Don’t forget to send us the link to the request via the CONFIRMATION FORM.
✅ Create a collection of the works on your favorite fandom (5 works minimum!) and send us the link to this collection via the CONFIRMATION FORM.
✅ Write another request for a fanfic or an original work. The request should be a real one (we will check!), not a few words, alright? Don’t forget to send us the link to the request via the CONFIRMATION FORM.
✅ Write a blog post with recommendations of at least 3 works on FicFan you read and liked. Don’t forget to leave the links to those works. And send us the link to this blog post via the CONFIRMATION FORM.
✅ Write a request (this is the final time, we swear!) for a fanfic or an original work. The request should be a real one (we will check!), not a few words, alright? Don’t forget to send us the link to the request via the CONFIRMATION FORM. Pay attention that there are only 3 requests allowed per user to claim coins for!
✅ This one is a little cheeky from our side but what the heck! Write a blog post with the title “FicFan’s First Birthday!” and wish us everything you want. Send us the link to this blog post via the CONFIRMATION FORM so that we could see it.
