Corpse continent series book two: Rise of the Arcane kingdom

One day a lone huntsmen had returned home to his wife and kids, his wife welcomed him home where complained which his family didn't bet an eye at since it was normal for them and one of his kids wanted to show him what she had made she called it rune fusion at this same time Hecate up way too early dragging the rest of her family out of bed to show them what she had been working on calling it rune combinations. Both began to explain their discovering saying You take an assortment of different runes and place them within a disc that would activate each rune and the energy of each would pour into the center as a form of liquid and when it dried it would crack revealing a new rune born from several others After her explanation Hecate showed off the new rune she had created last night from three fire runes and two wind magic runes she called it the inferno rune for the flames that it generates were hundreds of time more intense then the normal fire magic they always use everyone praised her while at the same asking to know more As she explained the huntsmen daughter had just finished her own explanation waiting on her father who patted her head and called her "Smart girl, smart girl." And immediately after his fingers turned into claws each of which pierced the girls skull killing her and the other kids saw what happened but before they could their mother they were dead and when the wife came looking to see what was going on she was dead in the time it took her to blink By the time anyone had gotten worried about the silence usually coming from always loud house all they found were bodies that have been dead for hours and only one room emptied the room that held the girls rune fusion experiment and with no other rooms robbed and neighbours claiming that the husband had entered the house and left carrying something all the evidence pointing to the shapeless and when Dragon heard that the girl was working on something she called rune fusion he became extremely worried Back at home Dragon found Hecate training with her new inferno magic with Hela watching and when her husband sat down next to her with something clearly on his mind he told Dragon: Hecate is not the only one who came up with rune combos Hela: Who else came with such an idea? Dragon: A little girl I'd say around Leah's age was working on something she called rune fusion same concept Hecate came up with I only discovered she was working on it after I found her and her entire family dead killed by something that looked like her father Hela: Oh titans. What now? Dragon: Now we asked our daughter to help come up with ways to combat every possible rune combination that shapeless monster's mind can come up with Hecate after hearing about rune fusion and how it is now in the hands of a serial killing shape shifter: I would've liked to get to know this girl [deep inhale, sharp exhale] Since this monsters whole thing is being unpredictable I have a feeling a lot of new kinds of magic are about to born [chuckles] Within the walls of the royal palace Hecate got to work on what was basically a rune factory spending days creating new kinds of runes and each rune was crushed into powder and turned into ink where new kinds of magic the ability to bend light control metal and minerals even their own shadows all in preparation to face the shapeless who now had access to powerful magics When rune killers were brought up everyone put their heads in their hands embarrassed that they completely forgot about that but Hecate argued that these runes are much more powerful for the rune killer to work they decided to test her theory and saw that she was right these new runes were far more powerful than the ones her parents had created in the past so that option was no longer possible and after proving that the rune killers were ineffective While all that was going on the officers who were already on high alert were even more so and the king and queen were discussing whether or not they should reveal to the people about how the shapeless had gained magics unlike anything else before but decided against it not wanting everything to go back to where everyone was afraid of each other But as they searched for it they had to remember one thing the shapeless treats everything like a game and won't even try to win but enjoy themself they may not want to play this game but they got no choice in the end if they were going to play a game of hunt or be hunted they needed a few more players so they decided to work with the huntsmen some of which were already okay with working with Arcane officers but now so were the rest after recent events With both officers and huntsmen hunting for them the shapeless watching all these souls drive themselves crazy all hiding as one of the civilians they had dedicated themselves to protecting trying their absolute best not erupt in laughter when coming face to face with the very humans who were hunting them and whenever they weren't silently laughing at the humans they were underground creating new runes and placing them in varies spots within all three cities Hecate while testing out new magics when an idea struck her with runes this powerful is like building a massive bon fire that can be seen from every direction there must be a way to sense that kind of magical arcane energy and with her mothers help they got to work on a crystal glasses that can perceive all forms of energy they would call this seeker crystal lenses
