Chapter 3 Rune killer

Everyone was reeling from the fact that the anarchist even from the melted remains of it still managed to recreate Aaron's arcane armor, Angela noted that maybe they didn't destroy it at all what they melted was a decoy to fool, a convincing decoy to note if it can fool the one who made it but none of them had the time to focus on how they needed to concentrate on what to do now they began to list every tool at both sides disposal
The anarchist had magic, machinery and a greater number of soldiers armed with arcane armor but the Arcane forces had a wider variety of magic, better magic users and better quality war machines courtesy of Aaron but despite that their ability to strategies was inferior to Malcolm's who as they speak was being shown new type of engines that would be used in their war machines far more power thanks to the runes that they recreated and implemented in the new engine designs which pleased Malcolm
Dragon, Hela and Angela broke up their forces into three one to defend against attacks from the north one to defend against attacks from the south and one placed just little closer to home just in case of any other anarchist infiltrators decide to return which they did but this time they were either captured or escape before they could learn anything about their enemy. Prisoners of war both sides had very different methods on handling them the anarchist would imprison them in a pitch black room where all they heard was rattle chains and peoples laughter that would drive their prisoners insane but the Arcane forces they would place their prisoners in the same room where Hela would do some magic research and experimentation
As for getting information out of their prisoners the arcane forces would threaten to turn them into test subjects in magic experiments which was enough to scare them to get them to talk but there was a few who were too stubborn to break and these were the ones that were actually experimented on and these experiments were not what most people imagine none of the experiments actually include using magic on them but instead they create magic tools and have the prisoners be the first to test them one of these tool was a orb that when touched would display what was going on in someone head this became their new form of interrogation their mouths could lie but their minds couldn't
They learned that the anarchist managed to recreate runes and planned on using them in their war machine engines and this gave Aaron an idea he and Hela began working together to figure out how to speed up rune burn out to take out the war machines and that is what they came up with a rune killer and after several test the rune killer was ready and the opportunity to test it in the heat of battle and when they heard there was a commotion near the Rahara Allura border they saw their opportunity and brought the rune killer
At the border the anarchist war machines were moving faster then ever before and along them were armored anarchist and on the edge of the battle field the rune killer was brought it looked like a simple flat disk but when it started spinning it glowed and suddenly a wave of energy washed over the battle and the with in all war machines present the runes that powered them glowed violently before immediately dying this stopped all the war machines both their own and the anarchist
With their war machines down and up against people who were better at using magic then them but to the anarchist welcome surprise some of the war machines were still operational and doing some damage against the enemy forces pleased to see not all their war machines given the new rune engines but the arcane forces still had their magic but were still out numbered so they retreat the battle ended with neither side gaining new ground
After hearing about the outcome of the battle Malcolm laughed saying "They are so much fun." while Dragon reacted by saying "They might go back to using their old engines but atleast we have a way to take down the armored anarchist nice work both of you." Angela added "Malcolm likes to test the adaptability of his opponents it's part of his whole sick enjoyment of the conflict."
Aaron and Hela began working on a way to make the rune killer smaller and portable able to be carried by any soldier so that if they come across any armored anarchist mean while Dragon, Angela and Magnus continued training their soldiers while also training themselves both how to fight as a unite and how to fight alone while simulating the chaos of active battle field
As for the anarchist they were creating new kind of war machines this time with their old engines but still found a way to put their runes to good use by combining them with ordinary guns creating elemental pistols that can fire bullets that can burn and melt freeze and stun with lightning and they couldn't wait to use them against the arcane creating but they didn't stop with the small one they also made massive elemental magic cannons to fire long distance which Malcolm approve of course
The arcane army were doing fighting to win and end this war but Malcolm he was doing it because he and his followers were enjoying the spectacle the carnage and the death and made sure to do everything they can to prolong the war while feeding their average soldier a story about how the enemy had weapons that could end this war in an instant but refused to use it because they were having to much fun fuelling their desire to fight this war was only going to escalate and Malcolm was going to enjoy every single second, one day Dragon had come up with an idea for a new weapon that might just give them the advantage.
