Corpse continent series book two: Rise of the Arcane kingdom

After the first battle between the arcane and Malcolm anarchist the people were celebrating their first victory over the anarchist everyone instead of the main Arcane gang Dragon and Hela were working on new magic and battle strategies for future battles with the anarchist, Aaron was working on blueprints for war machines and Angela was deep in thought thinking about her father remembering her time with him and how he handles defeat Years ago when Malcolm was just a gang leader growing his power until he met his match another gang leader of equal power and after losing his first battle with this rival gang Malcolm when everyone expected him to be upset but surprisingly he was actually quite happy and when asked he told them Malcolm: I run because I enjoy it fight because I like breaking bones and I kill because I like watching the life fade from their eyes if things were easy nothing would be fun this rival is a challenge that I want to get the most about entertainment out of them before wiping them out During this time they managed to win this fight with rival gang but it was due to a subordinate kidnapping a family member of the rival gang leader making him surrender and when he was brought before Malcolm he was killed with out a second thought immediately after that Malcolm killed his subordinate for cutting the war so short. After Angela shared this story with the others this was their reactions Magnus: That was messed up Aaron: Agreed Dragon: But if he enjoys the thrill more than actually winning Hela: He has a flaw for us to exploit Angela: But how many people will die before we use this flaw to finally bring him down Dragon: Depends on our conviction and his intelligence Angela: this war will last years That comment from Angela was beginning to prove true for the past several months both sides refused to give in the arcane forces were superior in terms of power and weapons but Malcolm had them beat in terms of strategy and tactics he would send his soldiers in small groups to stealthy infiltrate the ranks of the arcane forces and manage to get enough information on how they create their other elemental magic ink and quickly made their way back when one of them was discovered and captured The ones that returned introduced lightning and ice magic in addition to the fire magic they've been using since the start of the war and with these new powers at their disposable the fighting was growing more intense which began to tilt back to the arcane forces favor when Aaron introduced his new war machines specially designed armor that can channel the magic of the person who wears it and in the initial battle where these arcane armor made their introduction Malcolm watching from a distance ordered his forces to enrage the one wearing the armor and get them alone which worked capturing one of them and obtaining an arcane armor After realizing what happened Dragon and Aaron decided to launch a rescue mission to retrieve the armor and the person that was wearing it and when they arrived at Rahara's northern district the two of them killed two anarchist and stole their clothes to hide in plain sight when they found where they keep their prisoners they Dragon served as look out while Aaron asked their captive soldier where was his armor he told him they were keeping it in the neighbouring building after healing his injuries the three of them snuck into the neighbouring quite too easily before they realized it they were ambushed Even though they were out numbered their would be captors were out matched Dragon alone was enough to keep these anarchist busy while Aaron searched for the arcane armor and found it being transported by a group of workers and immediately destroyed the armor so they couldn't recreate it and before he could find the research notes the entire population of Rahara came rushing not even Dragon could take on many so they decide to grab their soldier and flew off back to Allura After Malcolm arrived at the scene he chuckled to himself seeing the aftermath of Dragon rescue mission and admires his destructive power and asked "Is the armor secure?" his people told him yes and that they fell for the fake armor trick and that the real arcane armor was being taken apart and studied as they speak and all Malcolm had to say to that is "Good." Afterwards one of his subordinates he sent to the nesting grounds of the thunderbirds had returned injured and half dead which told him the success rate of their mission and ordered them to returned this time to help them survive Back at Allura Dragon and Aaron returned with their captive ally and speaking about how they destroyed the armor and cut down a good number of the enemy soldiers and Angela told them if they don't want history to repeat itself they needed a strategy in place everyone was all ears as she explained her tactic Angela: Firstly whenever our forces go out for battle no soldier will go anywhere alone they fight in groups of two or more and each soldier must carry a bright flare to alert their about to be captured and Aaron can you add a form of self destruct feature so that if the anarchist managed to obtain another arcane armor the one wearing it could destroy it so the enemy could not replicate it? Aaron: Yeah I can do that Both sides had both drawn lines in the sand borders to station their soldiers and the Arcane armies border was encroaching further and further into Anarchist territory until the anarchist revealed something shocking anarchist in arcane armor this sight confused and stunned the arcane forces were overwhelmed and forced to retreat back allowing the anarchist to regain their taken territory while the arcane forces regrouped to strategies and plan for future battles
