They've been looking at each other for longer than necessary for a long time now. Longer than they look at friends or family members. Immersed in their own thoughts and experiences, no one notices or attaches any importance to the warmth spreading inside. And then... the evening after the birthday celebration, the roof of the loft they inhabit, and... a conversation that should have happened long ago.

A short two-chapter story about how the relationship between the two main characters of my WIP "The Void" duology might have developed Notes for those completely unfamiliar with my story: In the main story, Ai and Yuuki are seen more as older brother and younger sister. He cares for her and worries about her like family. She looks at him as someone she can confide in. But I never intended for them to have a romantic relationship, or even hint at one. But... Before anyone starts shipping them, I will! Perhaps a little later I'll write a few more stories with other characters and other "impossible pairings."
