Chapter 6: Tuesday: "I'm not her, right?"
April 9, 2026 at 7:20 AM
Miss Circle, Thavel, and Bloomie wait at the outside of the school. They haven't had any time to talk for the entire day.
Miss Bloomie: Didn't get to kill ANY students today. Did you two have any failures?
Miss Circle and Miss Thavel: No.
Miss Circle: After what happened yesterday, the students are gonna be trying harder to get good grades. We're probably gonna be getting fewer victims now.
Miss Bloomie: Shit.
Miss Thavel: Hey... guys?
*Miss Bloomie and Miss Circle look towards Miss Thavel. *
Miss Thavel: We're... friends .... right?
Miss Circle: Of course.
*At this point, Mister Compass returns from his conversation and is about to make his presence known until... *
Miss Thavel: You think we could go somewhere? Like, as a friend group. Have us three just hang out. Maybe on the weekends.
Miss Circle: What about Compass?
Miss Thavel: Um. I dunno. He can join, but I'd prefer if it was just you and Bloomie. Can you just ask him to stay back?
Miss Circle: Why not? I've never been with you guys without him by my side.
Miss Thavel: It's just .... He's just there. He's NEVER talked to us. He doesn't ask about our likes or supports me when I'm upset. I barely know anything about him. He likes those sweet ... candy bar things... That's it. He's just ... you, but slightly different. Having him there wouldn't be any different than just having a stranger.
*Miss Circle looks hurt by Thavel's words. Hearing her best friend be insulted like that... it's a feeling rarely shown to anyone. One of empathy for someone else. *
*Miss Bloomie looks uncomfortable with what's been going on. But how's she supposed to break the tension? *
Miss Compass: Hey. I'm back.
Miss Circle: Hey Compass. Let's go home. Can you drive today? I'm tired.
*Mister Compass and Circle go into their car and drive away. *
*We switch to see what Mister Compass was doing while the three teachers were talking. *
*Mister Demi had just finished his class and felt ... somewhat satisfied with his teachings, but he still wished that the melody template he created could've been better. It's hard playing instruments with only two fingers. *
*Mister Demi leaves his classroom and walks towards the exit door. Hopefully he can decompress at home. *
Mister Compass: Hey. Demi.
*Mister Demi recognizes that voice. He hopes that he isn't mad about not playing music. He shouldn't poke the hornet's nest further. *
Mister Demi: Oh. Hi, Compass. Hey, I'm sorry that I couldn't play the song. If you want I-
Mister Compass: No. I just wanted to talk about something.
*Mister Demi prepares himself to run. *
Mister Compass: Why are you afraid of me?
Mister Demi: Well ... I'm - i'm not --
Mister Compass: You are!
Mister Demi: No. i-i
Mister Compass: I get it. You're afraid to say something negative. You'll think I'll kill you if you do. Let's fix that.
If you don't say why you're afraid of me ... I WILL Kill you!
*Mister Demi freezes up upon hearing that. Two contradictory thoughts run through his head. ... *
Mister Demi: Well ... You kill people. You love it.
Mister Compass: I don't. Miss Circle does.
Mister Demi: You're the one she's using to kill people. I saw Abbie and Lana's corpses after I saw Claire. What you and she did to them... it's awful. You were there. You let yourself be used to slaughter them. You were drenched in Abbie blood and you didn't do anything.
Mister Compass: And what should I have done? It's not like I could stop her.
Mister Demi: You could've at least disengaged. Let Miss Circle do the killings herself.
Mister Compass: What about me being complicit makes you afraid of me?
Mister Demi: If you truly wanted to... you could kill me right now. Right?
Mister Compass: Probably.
Mister Demi: You're just as dangerous as Circle, Bloomie, and Thavel.
Mister Compass: What could I do to make you not afraid?
Mister Demi: Well, y-
Mister Compass: Without stopping the whole killing people thing.
Mister Demi: Well. That's the only reason why I'd be afraid of you. Maybe you could at least... not let yourself be used by Circle.
Mister Compass: No way. She'd probably kill me if I left.
Mister Demi: Hey? Why do you even want me to not be afraid of me in the first place?
Mister Compass: Huh? I just wanted yo-
Mister Demi: I just offered you to play music. And no, I don't play worse when I'm scared.
Mister Compass: ... I .... I .... I just - I -
Mister Demi: I'm just gonna leave!
*Mister Demi walks away as fast as possible. Mister Compass walks towards the exit door. It's Circle, Thavel, and Bloomie. Glad to see his friend again. *
Miss Thavel: Hey, Bloomie, do you ... have any ideas for where we should go?
Miss Bloomie: *Miss Bloomie starts to walk away. * You should figure it out!
Miss Thavel: Wait. Could - *Miss Bloomie increases her speed. She ... she isn't interested in what Thavel wanted to say right now. * shit.
*Miss Thavel stays at the school for a while. There is the sunset and herself. Alone with her thoughts. She transforms into her true form and holds her block headband within her claws. *
*After an hour, Miss Emily walks out of the school, surprised by Thavel's presence. Thavel hears the door opens and turns around. *
Miss Emily: Oh. I'll get out of your way. *Miss Emily walks around Miss Thavel and starts walking away. *
Miss Thavel: Emily?
*Miss Emily looks at Miss Thavel, afraid. *
Miss Thavel: Do I... never mind.
Miss Emily: How long have you been sitting here?
Miss Thavel: A while.
Miss Emily: Would yo-
Miss Thavel: Can you just leave?
*Miss Emily bolts away. She's not going to push these issues with someone this dangerous. *
*Miss Circle and Mister Compass leave their car and enter their apartment. It, and the things inside are bigger than normal apartments to compensate for the bigger size in comparison to other creatures. *
Miss Circle: Hey, I'm gonna be out on weekends. You want to go?
Mister Compass: I heard what Thavel said. I won't be going.
Miss Circle: *Miss Circle looks at Mister Compass. * Why? You really care about that deer's feelings.
Mister Compass: Of course not. I just - You shouldn't need me to be with you all the time and neither should I. I think it would be nice if you spend time with others without me.
Miss Circle: Why? Why wouldn't you want to be by me?
Mister Compass: I do want to be by you. I just think that you shouldn't need me at every point in your life. I just thought that this would make you happy.
*Miss Circle wants to argue. But .... It's not worth it. "We'll only be apart for, what, a few hours. It'll be fine." She thinks to herself. *
Mister Compass: Miss Circle. Can I ask you something? Aside from liking different foods, how are we different?
Miss Circle: Well, I can increase in size, and you can transform into a compass.
Mister Compass: Is that it? Y'now, YOU could also transform is you learned how, right? I could do the same with the size changing if I wanted. ANY member of our species could.
*Miss Circle can tell that something she said bothered him. Why? Mister Compass stands there. He doesn't say anything. Miss Circle goes to sleep. "Maybe he'll feel better tomorrow." She thinks. *
*Mister Compass sits on a chair and turns on the TV. *
Mister Compass (Internally): Thavel's wrong. I'm not her, right? I'm not her, right?
*He thinks those sentences over. And over. And over again until he falls asleep in his chair. *
