Episode 1: Fairy Tail - Part 1.
Narrator: (begins narrating) The Kingdom of Fiore. Clouds spread out from the center of the screen, retreating from the middle to reveal a map of their territory, and soft music begins to play. Narrator: (continues narrating) A neutral nation with a population of 17 million. The Earth is depicted in a scrying ball, into which a purple spark of energy flares. Narrator: (continuing the story) Magic is bought and sold like any other commodity. It has become deeply ingrained in people's lives. And there are those who, wielding it freely, have made it their livelihood. People call them mages. Black silhouettes form in the center of the screen, their outlines rippling, as if seen through the surface of water. They begin to take on a clearer outline, and soon a crowd of mages can be discerned, all wearing strange hats or hoods. Narrator: (continuing) Mages belong to different guilds and perform work in response to orders. The camera zooms in on a mage in the foreground, and the screen goes blank for a moment. Then the image reappears, showing scenes of mages fighting, traveling, and searching for treasure, as the music gradually swells. Images of the guild buildings in Fiore are once again superimposed on the map of Fiore. Narrator: (continuing) There are countless such guilds across the country. The scene cuts to a small blue cat with white wings and a green backpack, flying through the mountains. Narrator: (continuing) And in one city, there's a certain guild. The blue cat continues to fly, and it flew through the city. Narrator: (continuing) A guild that once... No, now and in the future, will give rise to many legends. Its name is "Fairy Tail." The scene cuts to the guild itself, and then to the Fairy Tail crest. Narrator: The port town of Harujion. The scene switches to Hana Hamada riding the train to the station. She looks out the window, resting her head on her hand, and smiles. Hana: (thoughts) It's been so long since I've been here. My sister is already sixteen. She's probably even prettier and has a boyfriend or girlfriend. (she thought) The train stopped five minutes later, and Hana got out, breathing in the fresh air. Hana: (whispering) I feel right at home. (she whispered) She takes a step forward and stops, seeing a young man of about sixteen lying on the ground, looking ill. Man: Excuse me... Dear passenger? At that moment, the same blue cat from the beginning appears, just as Hana starts to approach them. Blue cat: (Trying to wake him up, or something like that) Natsu, we've arrived at Harujion! Wake up! Wake up! Man: (Sweating nervously) Are you okay? Blue Cat: (turns and smiles) Yeah! He's always like this! The scene shows Natsu's appearance. He has slightly dark pink, spiky hair, black eyes, and wears a white scarf around his neck. Natsu: (feeling unwell) That's it... There's no more train... (he doesn't have time to finish his sentence) Hana: (concernedly) Are you okay? Natsu heard a man's voice and carefully raised his head, seeing Hana standing before him, holding out her hand and looking at him with concern. Unbeknownst to Natsu, she was a girl and he would think Hana was a guy. Natsu looked at her in surprise, then extended his hand to her, and Hana helped him up. Natsu: (trying to hold back his vomit) I'm... fine. He swallowed the vomit, and a blue cat approached them. Blue cat: (smiling) Hello. Hana wasn't surprised at all; she'd seen plenty of magical and talking animals thanks to Lucy. She looked at Natsu. Hana: (smiling) What are your names and your little friend's? Natsu: (first surprised, then smiling at her) My name is Natsu Dragneel. (introducing himself to her) He gestures to the cat. Natsu: (introducing him to her) And his name is Happy. What's yours? Hana extended her hand. Hana: I'm Hiro Hamada. Nice to meet you. Natsu: I'm with Happy too. They shook hands, and Happy turned to face the city. Happy: If the rumors are true, then there must be a Salamander in this city! (turning towards them) Let's go! Hana: (thoughts) Salamander? (her brown eyes widened in shock) It can't be. (she thought, looking away and covering her mouth with her hand) At that moment, the title card appeared on the screen, reading "Season 1, Episode 1: Fairy Tail!" Female voice: (upset and surprised) What?! Is there only one magic shop in this town?! The scene cuts to a sixteen-year-old girl, who looked like this. She had shoulder-length yellow hair, a ponytail tied with a blue ribbon on the right side of her head, and the rest of her hair was loose. She had brown eyes. She wore a white sleeveless blouse with a blue collar, a short blue pleated skirt, tall black lace-up boots, and a brown belt with very unusual keys attached to it. This girl's name is Lucy Heartfilia and she is the cousin of Hana Hamada and Tadashi Hamada. Shopkeeper: (explaining to her) Yes. Fishing has always been more popular here than magic. And less than ten percent of the locals use magic, so this shop is more suited to traveling mages. We are shown the shop's interior—it's a small store with a variety of goods, some of which look rather dubious, while others are quite cheap. It looks more like a souvenir shop than a real magic supply store. Lucy: (sighing) Sigh... So, I regret coming here? Seller: Now, now, don't say that. Here, take a look. We have some new items too. Color magic is popular among girls right now. Depending on your mood, you can change the color of your clothes! He demonstrated the gadget, changing his green clothes to light purple. Lucy: (indifferently) I have one of those. She was looking for something else. Seller: Yes! Lucy: For example, I... Seller: (ignoring her) Trade! Lucy: Looking for the powerful Gate keys. She finally found something and looked pleased. Seller: Gate keys? How unusual! The camera switches to the box containing the magical key. Lucy: (Joyfully) Lesser Dog! White Dog! Seller: (explaining) This key isn't very powerful. Lucy: (putting her hand on her cheek) No problem, that's exactly what I was looking for. She approaches him, all sparkling, holding a small box with a magical key. Lucy: How much? Seller: Twenty thousand jewels. Lucy: (suspiciously) How much, how much, sir? Seller: I told you, twenty thousand pieces of jewelry. Lucy stood silently in front of the seller for a few seconds, then struck a seductive pose. Lucy: (smiling sweetly) And how much will it actually cost, my dear? (she asked, winking at him.) Outside. Lucy was walking through the city, a little angry. Lucy: (angrily) Damn, he only gave me a thousand jewels. My attractiveness is only worth a thousand? Cheap! I hate it! Is that really all I can hope for? She suddenly hears girls' screams and stops in surprise. Lucy: (surprised) Huh? She turned and saw a crowd of girls, and two other girls running past Lucy. Girl #1: They say a famous mage has arrived! Girl #2: Mr. Salamander! Lucy: (confused at first) Salamander? (then claps her hands and smiles, her cheeks flushed) Isn't that the one with the fire magic you can't buy anywhere! Is he in this town?! Hana with Natsu and Happy. The scene switches to Hana walking next to Natsu and Happy, but Hana remains pensive, thinking about Salamander. Natsu: (asks her) Are you new, Hiro? Hana winced and shook her head to clear her thoughts. Hana: (glanced at him quickly and continued walking) Uh... What?.. Y-yeah, I'm not exactly new. I came to visit my cousin Lucy. And the last time I was here was seven years ago. Natsu said nothing, but smiled. He glanced at her quickly, and only then noticed that Hana was short, which intrigued him. Natsu: Hiro, how old are you? Hana was surprised by Natsu's question, but decided to answer the second one. Hana: (calmly) Sixteen and three months. Natsu's black eyes widened in surprise, and everyone froze. Natsu: (blinking in surprise) Sixteen? I thought you were twelve, or at least eleven. At that moment, Hana placed her hands on her hips, frowned, and looked questioningly at Natsu. Hana: (a hint of displeasure in his voice) Do I look eleven years old? Natsu looked at Hana from head to toe, swallowed nervously, and then scratched the back of his head. Natsu: (carefully) Y-yeah, but you don't look sixteen. And I'm sorry if that offended you a little. Hana: (waved her hand and smiled) It's fine. I'm used to it. They continued walking, but Natsu started feeling nauseous again. Natsu: Damn... I'm never taking the train again. Happy: Yeah, you're not good with transportation. Natsu: And then there's the hunt... Happy: And we don't have any money. Natsu: Oh, Happy. Hana giggled quietly off to the side. Hana: (thoughts) They're so funny. (she thought and smiled) Natsu: (asking) Is that Igneel they call Salamader? Hana's eyes widened again when she heard the familiar name. Hana: (thinking) They know about him. They're familiar with him. (she thought) Happy: (explaining) Yeah. After all, only Igneel can be called "fire dragon." Hana remained silent, but there was hope in her brown eyes. Natsu: Exactly. At that moment, they saw a crowd of female fans. Girl #1: (shouting) Mr. Salamander! Girl #2: (shouting) Wonderful! Burn me! Natsu and Happy: (simultaneously) Salamander?!/Salamander?! They ran, and Hana stood still for a few seconds, but then ran after them. Hana: (thoughts) He's back. (there was joy in her eyes) Natsu: (happily) There! They say, speak of the devil! Happy: (jumped) Aha! The next shot shows a very flamboyant man with blue hair, a trench coat, and an incredible number of rings. The crowd fawns over him, hearts shining in their eyes. Girl #1: (screaming) Amazing! Girl #2: (screaming) You're so cool! Lucy stands in the middle of the crowd, her heart pounding, her cheeks flushed. Lucy: (thinking) Why is my heart beating like that? Hey, what happened to me? Man: What should I do with you? He looked at Lucy. Lucy: (thoughts) He looked at me! (she placed her hand over her heart) Is it because he's a famous mage? Is that why my heart is beating so hard? She started walking toward him. Lucy: (thoughts) Does this mean... that I... Natsu: Ignal! Ignal! At that moment, Hana, Happy, and Natsu appeared. Natsu: (happily) Ignal! Hana: (happily) Y... (her smile fades) She saw the man, and for a few seconds her eyes grew sad. Then Hana looked at him suspiciously, and at that moment, the heart in Lucy's eyes vanished, as if by love magic. Hana: (thoughts) It wasn't him. (She notices her sister in the crowd and snaps out of her thoughts.) Little sister! (She exclaimed joyfully and ran toward her.) Lucy hugged her sister tightly. Lucy: (smiled) Hello, little brother. I'm so glad to see you again. (She said this and then became lost in her thoughts.) If it wasn't this crowd, then I wasn't hiding the fact that she's a girl. (She looked at the man with displeasure.) It was definitely love magic. And I fell for it. (She thought.) Natsu: (tiredly) Who are you? Salamander cries out, feeling personally insulted. But he quickly recovers, raises his hand with the rings, and proudly displays them. Salamander: If I call myself Salamander, you'll probably understand? He notices that Natsu has left. Salamander: Already gone?! All the fangirls began angrily hitting Natsu and yelling at him. Salamander: Alright, that's enough. He didn't mean anything bad. Lucy's gaze narrowed, a hint of anger etched in her furrowed brow. Hana crossed her arms and looked at Salamander with disdain. A minute later, Natsu was beaten again, and Hana ran up to him. Hana: (shouting) Natsu, are you okay? (she helps him up) Lucy looked surprised, then approached them. Lucy: (interested) Do you know each other? Hana: (She introduces them to Lucy) Natsu and Happy, meet my cousin Lucy Heartfilia. (She introduces her to them) Lucy, this is Natsu and Happy, I met them today near the train. (She explained) Natsu shook Lucy's hand. Natsu: (Smiling) Are you the same Lucy who told Hiro? Happy and I are glad to meet you. Lucy: (With a slight blush on her cheeks) Me-me too. At that moment, Hana picks up Happy, and Happy is surprised. Hana: I'm a little hungry. I know a restaurant that serves really good food. Follow me. (She said in a commanding tone.) Lucy and Natsu: (at the same time) Yes, sir! (They said and followed her.) After a while. They're at a restaurant. Natsu greedily devours the huge portions of food on the table, while Lucy and several other guests watch his appalling manners and laugh nervously. Meanwhile, Hana is eating apple pie—her favorite—with a cup of milk tea—her favorite drink—next to her. She takes a piece of pie with a fork, puts it in her mouth, then looks at her two new friends and smiles softly, not at all surprised by their bad manners. Natsu: Hiro, your sister is so sweet! Lucy: (holding out her hands) Got it, got it. Eat, take your time... Everything's flying... (she's lost in her thoughts) The thousands of jewels I saved are gone... (she snaps out of her thoughts) And that guy nicknamed Salamander? He used Charm on me—it's a kind of enchantment magic. Hana: (chuckled) Or, as they call it, a love spell. (she said, taking a sip of her milk tea) Lucy just smiled at her sister and continued explaining. Lucy: (explaining) This magic makes the user attractive to others. A few years ago, these things were banned from sale. Does he really want popularity that badly? What a nasty guy. But thanks to your intervention, the spell on me has disappeared. I'm so grateful to you. Natsu: That's it. Hana: (Sighs and looks seriously at her cousin.) Be more careful next time, little sister. What if Natsu, Happy, and I weren't there at that moment? (Her voice becomes stern.) Lucy looks at her with understanding, understanding. Lucy: (Explaining.) My brother and I are wizards, even though you wouldn't know it at first glance! Natsu: Wow... Hana had almost finished her apple pie and looked away sadly. Hana: (thoughts) It's a shame I don't have magical abilities, except for one special gift I'm afraid to use. (she thought) Lucy: (continues explaining) Although Hiro and I haven't joined any guilds yet. Oh, about guilds? They're associations where mages gather. Places where mages can find work and the information they need. If a mage doesn't work in a guild, they can't become a decent person. When Lucy started talking about guilds, Hana became sadder. Lucy: (happily) But you know, you know?! There are so many guilds in the world! And yet, joining a popular guild is so hard! She was beaming, and hearts were flashing next to her. Lucy: (chattering loudly) Hiro and I wanted to join a place where so many wonderful mages gather! Ah, what should we do?! We want to join, but it must be hard! Natsu: Well... Lucy: (quickly waving her hand and smiling) Sorry, sorry! You probably don't understand all this talk about the mage world. (she leans over and tucks her chin in her hand) But Hiro and I will definitely join this guild. Hana, meanwhile, folded her hands over her knees. Hana: (thoughts) I dreamed of joining the Fairy Tail guild with Tadashi, but it's such a shame you're not here. Suddenly, tears streamed down Hana's cheeks as Lucy and Natsu talked about Ignel, but she didn't hear them. An image of Obake as a teenager, standing next to Professor Grenville, flashed through her mind. Hana: (thoughts) But I also dreamed of you joining this guild and being by my side. (She suddenly sniffled.) At that moment, Natsu, Lucy, and Happy heard Hana's sob and turned to her. Lucy: (worried) Onii-chan... what's wrong? Happy: (worried) Didn't you like the pie? Natsu: (leaning over and reaching for her shoulder) Hiro, what's wrong? Everything's fine... At that moment, Hana suddenly stood up and tried to smile, but failed miserably, and tears continued to stream down her cheeks. Hana: (sobbing and trying to hold back her tears, but failing miserably) I-I'm fine. I'm... f-fine. Natsu and Lucy: (shocked and very worried) Hiro.../Brother... Hana left the table, still looking at them with tears in her brown eyes, her body starting to tremble. Hana: (trembling and trying to wipe her tears with her hands, but failing) L-Lucy, I-I'll go... and don't worry... She ran out of the coffee shop in tears, while Natsu, Lucy, and Happy looked worried. Lucy: (sharply) So Natsu, I'll go to Hiro's and... (interrupted) Natsu: (also suddenly) No, Lucy. I'll catch up with him and calm him down. Tell me where Hiro probably lives. Lucy quickly gave the address of Hana's apartment, and then Natsu and Happy ran after Hana. Lucy: (whispering) What have I done? (she felt very guilty)Episode 1: Fairy Tail - Part 1.
