Nightmare and a second chance.

In the morning, the whole team, except Clay and Macy, gathered in the main hall. “Anybody seen Clay?” Macy came into the room. I’ve looked everywhere, but he’s nowhere to be found. He just disappeared. “I saw him go into the kitchen last night to get a drink of water, and then I blacked out,” Lance said. “Had Clay been kidnapped?” Axl got worried right away. “I guess so” Aaron walked over to Ava. “Ava, can you track his signal?” “I’m working on it.” She started clicking buttons. “He’s in the forest, but no one else is around. He was probably kidnapped by Jestro’s monsters, but—” “How do we know there’s bound to be someone around?” The blond guy came to the screen. “Give me the coordinates. I’ll go check it out. If there’s anything wrong, I’ll let you know.” “Why are you so worried about Clay? Yesterday was different.” Asked the red knight, but Richmond was already gone. “What’s going on with him?” The brunet asked. Everyone shrugged. No one knows what’s on the fancy man’s mind. **************************** Lance was driving through the forest, trying to spot his friend. Not far from the coordinates, he stopped and walked. As he approached his destination, the blond caught the quiet moans of pain and had to switch to running. The white knight stopped because a figure was walking slowly toward him. Richmond recognized Clay. His eyes immediately widened with fear, and his insides clenched painfully. The blue knight was swaying from side to side, with deep wounds all over his body. The blond couldn’t move in terror. Suddenly, the brown kneeled, coughed, spitting out some blood, and fell on his back, breathing heavily. The white knight finally shifted, taking his friend in his arms and quickly ran to his car. “Hang in there, Clay. It’s going to be okay.” Lance pulled his body against his. “I’m sorry.” Moorington’s breathing was getting weaker and weaker by the minute. Richmond had to speed up. He couldn’t let their leader die. When he reached the car, he quickly climbed in, turned on the autopilot, and pulled Clay even tighter against him, feeling the blood trickling down his arms. Tears began to well up in his eyes. “Hahahahahahaha!!!” Laughter could be heard from all sides. “You’ll never be a good knight.” First voice. “You’ll always be a spoiled brat.” Second voice. “You’d better go. No one wants you here.” Third voice. Laughter again. “No. This can’t be true. It’s not true.” Knight tried to drown out the voices, but it didn’t work. “It is true. If anyone needed you, they wouldn’t be trying to get rid of you, Clay would treat you differently.” “No! The team needs me! The kingdom needs me!” “Lance! Lance, wake up!” Lance woke up to being shaken by his shoulder. Macy looked worriedly at her friend. “Macy? What are you doing here?” “I heard screams, so I thought I’d check it out. Halbert stepped away from Richmond. Is something bothering you?” “No. I’m fine. I’ve got nothing to complain about.” “If that’s the case… Clay wants you to come to his room.” “Why?” “He wants to talk to you, just to get to know you better.” “Tell him I’ll be there in ten minutes.” “Okay. “The Red Knight is gone. Lance got out of bed and walked over to the small mirror above the dresser. “Yaaaaaah… Everyone will immediately notice that something is wrong.” He fixed his hair, changed his clothes, and left the room. Going to the leader’s room was a little awkward, especially after yesterday. “I wonder if he’s going to reprimand me or if he really just wants to talk?” The white knight didn’t notice how he reached the room. He stopped, but for some reason there was no way he could knock. Taking a deep breath, Richmond knocked and when he heard “Come in,” he opened the door. “You wanted to see me?” Lance stepped into the room. “Yes” Clay was sitting on the bed, leaning against the headboard and reading something on his laptop. The blond sat on the bed, also leaning against the headboard, and looked into the laptop. Shaten was leafing through a list of movies and shows. “So you didn’t call me over to talk, but just to watch movies and shows?” “Yes.” Lance decided not to leave, but to give the blue knight a chance. Clay decided to watch the movie “Fire” first and then choose according to the situation. He put his arm around Richmond’s shoulder and started watching. The first hour went well. Lance only occasionally strained and shrank back against the sheet, but after twenty minutes, the blond fell asleep with his head resting on the brown-haired man’s shoulder. Moorington noticed this and paused the movie. He closed the laptop, put it on the bedside table, and lay down, covering the white knight with a blanket, trying not to wake his friend. Sometimes Richmond shuddered and snuggled into Clay, mumbling something, but Clay stroked his shoulder gently, reassuring him. “What are you dreaming about?” Moorington wondered, falling into the realm of morpheus.
