In the darkness

Sasha woke up in bed from the alarm clock. I’m not at home! What happened? The body sat down and after a few seconds stood up and trudged to the kitchen. The girl made herself tea and several sandwiches, looking at this picture with huge eyes. What am I doing? Where is my family? Having eaten, washed and dressed, Sasha went into the hallway. The backpack has been assembled since yesterday. After fixing her hair, she left the apartment. Am I even in my own world? And it was some kind of strange dream… Oh, exactly! That woman told me that we should exchange worlds with another girl, and I should live here for now! And she will have to save our world. Horror. It’s good that the body does everything itself, otherwise the situation is unfamiliar! Lex had already left the apartment and headed towards the school. The walk took no more than ten minutes. After going through the turnstile, undressing and going up to the second floor, she went into one of the offices and sat down at a desk. Obviously I’m at school. But she’s kind of weird here. A red-haired girl flew into the classroom and plopped down at the desk next to Sasha. - Happy birthday! Here is your gift! — she exclaimed and handed her friend a small box. - Oh thank you! And what’s in there? — Lex asked. - If you open it, you will find out! — the girl exclaimed with a wide smile. The girl decided not to test her patience and opened the gift. There was a digital watch on a white strap. - Wow cool! Thanks a lot! — the girl whispered enthusiastically. - My pleasure. And sorry for yesterday. I just didn’t want to get a bad grade, — Alena apologized embarrassedly. What happened yesterday? - It’s okay. I’m not upset, — Sasha answered, smiling sweetly. - Cool. So, okay, we have Russian. Have you done your homework? — asked the redhead. - Yeah. And you? — the brown-haired girl inquired. - Not really. I didn’t finish writing a little bit. She won’t check anyway, — Alena answered, dismissing it. The bell rang. A skinny woman of about thirty entered. So unpleasant. She sat down at the table and opened the magazine. - Okay, kids, today we’ll check our homework, and then we’ll write a test, — she said slowly. - Oh! Well for what??? — Alena moaned. - And the first one answers… Alena Peskareva, — the teacher continued just as slowly. - What? I don’t want to die! They’ll give me a bad mark! — my friend whispered doomedly. - Hide under the table, I’ll answer, — Sasha said quickly. - Is that allowed? — Alena asked, looking at her friend in bewilderment. - Try. She didn’t seem to see you. Yes, and we’re sitting in the back, — she convinced her. Alena obeyed. - And she’s not here today. Can I get her? — Lex asked. The teacher raised her head. - Lebedeva? Come on. Why don’t you usually raise your hand? — the teacher approved the request in surprise. Sasha ignored the question and stood up, opened her notebook and began to answer. The lesson was not difficult, but extensive. When Lex sat down, the teacher looked at her with a smile. - Well done! Homework was difficult, but you did it! Do you see, children, how to study? You can’t mess around! Unleash your potential! Sasha sits quietly in class, but she answered so well! — the woman praised her. Lex looked around. Everyone looked at her with hostility. Apparently they didn’t like being singled out. But this was not a problem for the girl. - And now the test… But suddenly the bell rang. The teacher left, and then Alena crawled out from under her desk. - Oh thank you. I thought I was gone, — the girl thanked her friend. And hugged her. It was nice. Sasha was never particularly loved or singled out. So the hug came as a surprise. The girls left the classroom together and went to the fifth floor. The second lesson was algebra. But there was nothing complicated. We did not review any new material. And although Sasha did not have such a subject, she figured it out. Still, this world is much better than ours! During history, Lex, of course, was in a stupor, but it was an ordinary lecture. There is so much to remember! Our story is not very interesting and not long! And here the material is so interesting. If I’m here for a long time, I need to learn something about this world! During physical education, the guys played volleyball; the game, of course, was unfamiliar to Sasha, but she quickly figured out the rules, and she even started to get good at it. In technology, the class was preparing some kind of pie. At the end of the lesson they sat down at their tables and ate it. It was big, enough for everyone, and very tasty. Walking home, Lex remembered her school day. Cool world. I even like it better than ours. But I miss my family. We should probably wait until that girl does her job. And yet we have a cool class. Everyone is so friendly! And that Vika is just a wonderful girl. Masha, Katya and Sveta are also cute. And the boys are okay here. Maybe I’ll make friends with someone. For example, with Artyom. He is cool. The girl entered the apartment and was amazed at the silence there. This is probably how it should be. I wonder if I have family here? She completed her homework quickly. Her body carried her back to the kitchen and began preparing dinner. At some point, Sasha even took over the management so as not to overcook the steak. By 19:00 dinner was ready. But it’s just unclear to whom. The girl sat down at the table and began to eat the salad. It turned out delicious. Half an hour later, the front door opened and a tall, stern-looking man with brown hair and brown eyes walked in. He looked a little scary, but Sasha said: - Hi, Dad. - Hello. Sorry for being late yesterday. I’m stuck at work, — answered the man, and, apparently, her local father. - It’s okay, sit down and eat, — Lex said. The meal passed in silence. They occasionally exchanged phrases. Having finished and washed the dishes, Lex went to her room. I should read the textbooks. Otherwise I don’t know anything. History and social studies turned out to be incredibly interesting. Of course, everything differed from the foundations of their world, but Sasha liked it. Biology was boring, and algebra was completely boring. The girl spent her time usefully and sat too long, not paying attention to the time. She got out of the captivity of the books only at 22:00. It’s time to sleep. After taking a shower, Sasha lay down on the bed. For the first time in her life, she fell asleep without fear of tomorrow and boldly looking into the future. Her last thoughts were dreams about tomorrow and how she would spend it.
