Big adventure of a leaf.
Autumn has begun.
Several days passed. People began to pack up their tents. Within a few days our little leaf got used to seeing them every day. When he saw that they were getting ready, he asked the sparrow:
" What are they doing? Are they leaving?
Sparrow replied:
" Yes. Since these people are tourists, they travel all over the world.”
“Will they come back here again?”
"Unfortunately no. They move on.”
Willie felt a little sad. He glanced at the people. When they disappeared from sight, the leaf became completely sad and bored. Sparrow began to console and encourage him. Later the leaf saw a pack of wolves. They stood nearby and sniffed. Herds of deer were grazing on the field.
“What do they want to do?”
“Now there will be a hunt. The wolves will catch the deer.”
“Why do they catch them?”
“The wolves sense a weak and sick deer among them and eat it. They are doing the right thing."
After a successful hunt, the wolves disappeared from sight. The leaf felt sad again. He noticed a gray hare under a maple tree, gnawing on the bark of a tree. He later ran away.
Time has passed. All the flowers on the trees began to fade. Our leaf was in a panic and did not understand what was happening. Sparrow explained to him:
“Summer has passed. In a week autumn will come. Cold weather, rain and wind will begin. Everywhere will be wet and dirty. Birds will fly to warm countries.”
“Are you going to fly away too?”
"No. We sparrows will stay. Only we will live in a city that is a little far from here. But don't be sad. I will fly to you every day and tell you interesting stories about the life of people from the city.”
Autumn has come. All the birds flew away. Only sparrows, city pigeons, crows and magpies remained. They made nests for themselves in city parks and near the city itself. Since they were hungry, the crows began to look for food for themselves. Magpies stole food from those people who ate in open cafes after work or on vacation. The children, with the help of adults, made many feeders. They hung them securely outside the windows. They sprinkled a lot of crumbs from rolls and bread into it. Then they began to watch how hungry sparrows and pigeons greedily ate these crumbs. The adults also made cozy and beautiful bird houses from the boards. They hung them on trees. Birds made nests in them. They felt very warm inside.
Meanwhile, a strong wind was blowing. Our leaf was cold, but he endured. Since all his friends: the insects and the baby squirrel hid in warm places, the birds flew to the city for a while, the leaf had no one to talk to. He felt very sad and lonely. Then he decided to talk to the other leaves. Willie did just that. So they had a little fun with their time.
A few days later, the leaf saw how the already strong wind began to tear leaves from the branches. He either carried them very far away, or abandoned them not far away. Willie understood that the same trouble would happen to him too. But for now I was enjoying life.
The river, which was located near the forest, began to rage and flow quickly. It even overflowed the banks. Animals, including bears, began to avoid the river. They were afraid that the strong current would carry them away somewhere. A flock of hungry crows flew over the forest. They were looking for carrion. Then one old crow saw the carrion of a wild pig. Then the crow cawed differently. Her brothers immediately gathered around this animal and began to peck greedily. Later they ate to their fill and flew back to the city. Fortunately, our leaf didn’t see this, so it didn’t worry. He was very worried about what would happen to him in the future.
The time came when a strong wind tore our leaf from the branch. Willie was scared. He didn't want it to end so quickly. The wind carried him far from his native places. The leaf saw its beloved maple tree for the very last time. I saw the hollow in which his friend lives. The leaf saw that the squirrel now continues to collect food supplies for the winter so as not to be hungry. Willie began to remember those wonderful moments when he met and became friends with the ladybug. I remembered those funny and instructive conversations with the squirrel, sparrow, bee and his other friends. This made Willy’s soul feel warm and very sad at the same time. After all, he knew and understood perfectly well that he would never meet his beloved friends or talk again.
Meanwhile, the wind has already carried our leaf very far from its native land. He decided that while he was still alive, he would see the places that his friends had told him about.
