Childhood of a leaf.
Friendship with a sparrow.
His story about the world.
When the leaf was still small, it became friends with the flower that grew next to it. They watched nature together.
One day a flower asked a leaf:
“Listen, do you have a name?”
Leaf asked:
“Name? What is it?”
The flower was a little confused at first, and then answered him:
“If you don’t have a name, then you become nameless. I will call you Willie.”
Leaf really liked this name. He replied:
" I like it very much. It's a beautiful name."
And he thanked him. After some time, a pair of wood pigeons landed on a branch. They had little straws in their beaks. They began to choose the most convenient place for themselves in order to build a nest. Since our heroes knew that building a nest would take too much time, they began to carefully watch them. Meanwhile, the pigeons found a convenient place and began to bring various twigs, straws, blades of grass, a little earth and dirt. Several days passed. They managed to make a nest. This pigeon’s girlfriend began to examine it from the inside, sometimes straightening some twigs and blades of grass. She then looked at her friend and made an appreciative sound. And her friend was very happy. The leaf and flower looked at each other and continued to watch them. Then the flower quietly said to the leaf:
“And they are great. They made a beautiful nest.”
Willie moved in agreement. Meanwhile, the dove began to bring various insects to her friend and treated her. She accepted these gifts.
Suddenly Willie and the flower noticed that a small green caterpillar was slowly crawling towards them. They looked at her in surprise and did not understand what she was going to do. When the caterpillar was about to bite off a piece of our leaf, a sparrow flew in. He saw the caterpillar and quickly grabbed it with his beak and instantly swallowed it. Then he began to clean his wings. Our leaf thanked him. A minute later, Willie politely asked him:
“ Dear sparrow, please tell me and the little flower about the world. You fly everywhere. We are very interested to know what is happening beyond our territory.”
Sparrow happily agreed and began to tell:
“Our world is too big and interesting. Here you are growing on a maple branch. Unfortunately, you can't escape this place. There are other trees, insects, birds, animals and even people living around.”
Since Willie did not know who people were, he asked the sparrow. He answered him:
“People are very dangerous creatures who kill birds, animals and many others, cut down trees, burn forests, even kill each other.”
The leaf was a little scared, but did not show it. Sparrow continued his story:
“People have big, scary iron objects that they use to travel around the world.”
Willie asked:
“What do people look like?”
Sparrow thought a little. then he replied:
“Well... it's hard to say. Time will pass and you will see them yourself. I will just say that they stand on two legs and move on the ground that way. They can also talk. But we don’t understand their words at all. People also do it at home.”
Willie looked at the sparrow in disbelief. He immediately translated to him:
“Well, they cut down trees and somehow make houses out of them.”
Leaflet was very surprised and remembered every word he said so that he could know it for the future.
“Why do they kill animals and cut down trees?”
Sparrow was very confused. He replied:
“We don’t know this, unfortunately.”
Willie asked him to talk more about the world.
“People have a lot of houses in one big place. They call it a city. Too many people live there. There is no clean air there at all. Iron monsters run quickly along the roads and emit a bad smell. They have domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, birds and other animals. In the world, in addition to cities, there are also villages. There are only a few houses there. The rest is nature. There are many streams, lakes, rivers, seas, and oceans in the world. There are also cold regions. There is no heat there at all, only snow. There are also places that are too hot. called desert. It’s almost impossible to be there.”
Sparrow told them interesting stories for a long time. Then Willie invited the sparrow to be friends. He agreed and from that moment they became best friends. The sparrow flew to them every day and told them about the world.
