Monster With A Criminal Soul | Stronger Together: The Soundtrack

Hello, my sweet estrellitas! Last week, I promised that I would publish a new song from the book "The Criminal Diaries". And now, I am thrilled to present to you my new work called “Monster With A Criminal Soul”, a dark, aggressive track that is much heavier musically than all of my previous songs. As I hinted before, this song is meant to play in Chapter 31, during the lead male character’s nightmare scene, where he fights the dark forces hunting for his soul. I wrote this song back in the summer after watching the animated movie "K-Pop Demon Hunters" (yes, I love watching animated movies when I’m bored – and what?!) and hearing the songs from it. To be clear, “Monster With A Criminal Soul” was inspired by the tracks “Takedown” and “Your Idol”. After hearing them, I immediately thought I wanted to write something dark, grim, and aggressive. And by the way, I can tell you one little secret: this song has an opposite version that focuses on the male character's light side, not his dark one. I’m not sure if this song really creates tension or makes you feel like you've got wet pants, but after hundreds of attempts to find the right title and lyrics, I ended up with a pretty solid text, to which I added some Latin phrases for the first time. I was choosing the music from several variations and ultimately liked this one. Originally, I wanted both male and female vocals to perform it. But I got kinda busy, messed up the prompt. And in the end, almost all the parts were sung by male voices, plus a couple of choir inserts and even something like female vocals. I also wanted some verses to be rap, but that didn’t work out like I wanted. Anyway, this song fits the nightmare scene perfectly. It's a story about the monster that the lead character himself is. About the confrontation between darkness and light within him. And in this case, the darkness is ready to claim its trophy, even if the last sparks of light desperately try to break through the impenetrable veil and wake him up from the nightmare. And although the song sounds as if it exists within the character’s dream, it actually reveals his dark side. It reveals the fact that he is not so sweet and fluffy, after all. However, even all of his actions and crimes have an explanation. There is a reason why he is what he is for readers of "The Criminal Diaries". The problem is that the character himself does not want to understand himself, to reflect on his past, or to accept who he is. To accept the part of himself he has rejected for almost his whole life. Even if there is a threat of remaining a monster in the eyes of everyone forever. A monster with a criminal soul, a defect in the eyes of the entire world. Love, Estrella Rose.
