Corpse continent series book two: Rise of the Arcane kingdom

Born two hours after his twin brother Orion, Magnus would wouldn't really care enough about being king to be jealous of Orion being the next in line to inherit their fathers throne in fact he would pour his efforts into supporting his brother especially after the great cataclysm that destroyed their home both Orion and Magnus joined in on all search and rescue operations Orion once he found a survivor would take them immediately to the refuge camps while Magnus whenever he would find survivors he would make sure they were safe before getting back to work looking for others, Magnus would spend days without rest or food too focused on helping others so much so that his brother had repeatedly wrestle him out of the rubble and drag him to a bed which was easy since Orion was always well rested and well fed whenever he had to drag Magnus out When the last survivor was officially found and the dead they were buried and a memorial was erected in their honour and Magnus who saw more dead bodies then anyone should even more so then his brother more then any other officer, drakkia, Antler, Anansi and Chiron and even though he was too stubborn to admit he was effected by all he seen negatively so his family didn't know how to get him to let them help him Magnus poured all his strength into two things one was bolster his brothers claim as the heir to the Arcane throne more so since their some people who argued that he should be king the second thing making sure their was peace and order among the people mainly stopping drunkards from fighting each other and everyone else breaking up protest organized against his father and family as peacefully as he can During one these of protest he encountered Skylar Greywood a fellow officer he had seen her before during the search and rescue missions in the past she was dressed like a huntsmen back then but looks like she chose to change professions. After breaking up the protest Skylar approached Magnus asking "When do you take time off?" Magnus tired answered honestly "Whenever I sleep but other then that I don't take time off at all." Skylar wasn't really surprised at that response Magnus looked like it's been days since he last slept and decided to try and convince him to get some sleep but unlike everyone else she would succeed Skylar: You should get some sleep your no help to anyone exhausted Magnus: Your not the first to tell me that you won't be last Skylar: hm No I'm pretty sure I will be since unlike everyone else I know how to win arguments with the broken and stubborn Magnus: Well this should be interesting alright I hear you out Skylar: Lets say your dragging a drunk back from a bar you too tired to think straight and him too drunk a fight breaks out you will of course win but could you live with the fact you killed a man [Magnus had nothing to say to that] And after you kill this man guilt would take over and the cracks in your spirit will grow to the point you will break and your family will watch you break. Do you want them watch that? Magnus: I haven't gotten a nights worth of sleep in months Skylar: I can help with that Magnus: How? Skylar guided Magnus back to his home and that where they sat down and talked nothing about important just random topics favourite colours, favourite foods and the more they talked the more tired Magnus got and eventually fell asleep with Skylar watching him waiting and not long after fall asleep Magnus began having nightmares and Skylar laid down next too him and began humming a lullaby that Magnus heard in his sleep and he became more and more calm and slept After several hours of restful sleep Magnus woke up to Skylar sleeping right next to him he decided to just lay down for a little bit longer and just watch her, she woke up to Magnus watching her and just smiled and said "Slept well?" Afterwards they began spending more time together both on duty and during their time off going on dates eventually introduced each other to their families Magnus meeting Skylar's cousin Charlotte and even introducing her to his brother and he introduced her to his family who of course welcomed her warmly After a few years they had gotten closer and before he could ask Skylar gave a ring and asked him "Will you marry me?" Magnus was upset that she beat him to the punch but his response was of course "Yes" and the two of them were officially to be married On their wedding day king Dragon was the officiate Magnus's entire family was present along with Skylar's cousin and several of their officer friends watching the ceremony. First to arrive was Magnus dress in a black and grey coloured suit and after him was Skylar in a black dress with a crimson red veil. The ceremony went on like all others before and ended with the two sharing a kiss and an afterwards they had a small party where they danced, had food and celebrated the union between Magnus and Skylar Immediately after their honeymoon the two of them would announced they would be expecting a child soon everyone was happy for them especially Orion and Charlotte who were also expecting a child soon and were excited to watch their child grow with their cousin. Next to get married would be Dominique to her child hood friend Abigail
