Chapter 3 Prisoner of Love in the Castle of Shadows

The vampire's castle towered over the gloomy, mist-shrouded landscape, as if carved from the night itself. Its spires pierced the sky, and its windows glowed with an ominous red light. Kakuzu awoke in a completely unfamiliar place. A soft, silken bed, a canopy of scarlet velvet, walls adorned with tapestries depicting ancient battles and mythical creatures. The air was filled with the scent of roses and something sweet, almost cloying. He tried to move, but found himself in the tight embrace of his captor.
Lilith was the last of a long line of vampires whose history stretched back centuries. Her beauty was mesmerizing, but it also hid a primal, predatory power. Her eyes, now burning not only with passion but also with a deep, all-consuming love, never left Kakuzu.
"My dear, sweet Kakuzu," she whispered, her voice soft as silk, but with a hint of steel. "You have no idea how long I've searched for you. You are the last of the mighty line that once ruled these lands. The line I loved and lost."
Kakuzu, still in shock, tried to break free, but Lilith's embrace was stronger than steel chains. Then the old treasurer resorted to diplomacy. "Please, sweet lady, let me go! I don't know you!" he whispered.
Lilith merely laughed, her laughter melodious, but with a hint of madness. "No, my sweet. You are my destiny, Kakuzu. And I will never let you go."
She pressed him even closer to her chest, and Kakuzu felt his body begin to change. The chill that penetrated his bones, his very essence, was no ordinary chill. It was the chill of eternity, the chill of ancient power and blood.
"In a day," Lilith whispered, her breath burning his skin. "In a day, you will become like me. An immortal vampire. And we will be together, my love, my treasure, my life."
Afterward, they strolled through her castle together. Grandeur and wealth screamed in every detail, from the dining chairs to the velvet tapestry embroidered with gold thread. Lilith never left his side, constantly trying to hug or kiss him. Kakuzu was lost in thought; the prospect of becoming a vampire certainly had its drawbacks. But from his perspective, they were insignificant:
Was it harmful to go out in the sun? He spent most of his time in the shadows, caves, or indoors anyway. No big deal.
Would he have to drink someone else's blood? No problem; he'd never cared about others, and he'd killed quite a few people in his life.
Can't enter a building without an invitation? No big deal. It would even be easier for him to destroy his target along with the building itself. And negotiations and deals could be conducted outside.
But what opportunities his vampire nature opened up for him. He would become truly immortal, his strength would increase many times over, and as Lilith had promised, he would have a ton of money and jewelry.
Lilith pulled him from his thoughts, gently telling him to return to the bedroom. Knowing how strong she was, Kakuzu merely obediently followed her. Her passion for him was more than just physical attraction. It was a mixture of ancient longing, boundless care, and absolute obsession. Lilith saw Kakuzu not just as a man, but as the embodiment of her lost love, her extinct race, her hope for rebirth. She saw him not only as her passion, but as her family. Her love was so all-encompassing that it bordered on madness. She wanted to protect him from the entire world, from all dangers, from anyone who might try to take her treasure from her.
"No one can take you from me, my Kakuzu," she whispered, hugging him tightly, her eyes sparkling with manic determination. "I will make sure of it. You will be mine forever."
