FPE Impetus AU: Grading

Engel sits in his bed. Bubble's pet duck is sleeping on a pillow that had been left for them. *It's been a whole day since he's got home. He hasn't been able to sleep. Or eat. Or do anything. His mom didn't bother to help him. Biscuit's calls were ignored. He ... what he had to say about Anova wasn't painting the best picture. He'd rather just act she was okay. * *He still remembers what Biscuit said. About leaving to go somewhere else. Every time he goes to this school, something awful happens. His friends are gone. His classmates suffer. The school hates us. "The world hates us." Engel thinks. "Maybe Biscuit was right. Maybe I should go somewhere else where no one else is." Engel thinks.  But the though disappears. He couldn't handle being alone. ... but maybe moving isn't a bad idea. Maybe he just needs to move somewhere where he'll be treated better. * ???: ENGEL!!! *Engel gets out of his bed. Once he opens the door- * Petunia: Hi. Engel: Petunia, what do you want? Lizzy: WE are taking you to the mall. Engel: *sighs* *He's not really in the mood to go anywhere. - * ???: You should go. *Engel's mom is standing behind him. * Lizzy: Thank you - *Engel is pushed out of the door. Engel's mom closes it behind them without even responding to Lizzy's question. * Engel: I don't kn- Wait, I forgot Bubble's pet duck. *Engel attempts to open the door, but it is locked. * Engel: Alright. I'll go with you guys. *Petunia, Lizzy, and Engel start walking. Once they reach around 20% of the way there - * Lizzy: What do you want to do when we get there? Engel: uh? Petunia: Being upset will make you get bad grades. Engel: Alright. I guess we could just sit down somewhere. Petunia: **Petunia looks upset Engel: Let's just do what you two want. *Petunia and Lizzy visit the hair salon 1st. They go to the clerk, and they pay for their standard hair dos. Well ... Petunia does. * *Engel sits in one of the chairs. * Lizzy: It's fine. When you're done, you'll look so much better. I can get my hair done after you anyway. *And so, both Petunia and Engel have their hair completely done. Once Engel looks in the mirror ... it's a little weird to not have his hair tied back. * Petunia: Do you like it? Engel *Happy *: It's fine. *Afterwards, their journey through the mall goes normally for the two popular students. Engel on the other hand, still isn't having the best time. * By the time their done, it's 1:30 PM. * Engel: Thanks for all of this, but I think I'll go back home. Petunia: awww. Weren't you having fun? Engel: ... I was. I'm just tired. I'll see you at school tomorrow. *Engel walks back to his home.  He feels awful for him lie to people who wanted to help. "They wouldn't get what it's like to be so close to saving someone." He thinks. *   *He arrives at his house at 3:00, but the door is still locked. He thinks of knocking, but he knows his mom will just keep the door locked for even longer if he does. He's forced to sit on the steps of his home. 1 hour passes. 4 hours pass. It's 8:00 PM now. Engel doesn't even know that yet. The door is still locked. * *It's 9:00 PM. He would try and call one of the other students, but he left his phone in the house. "..." *10:00 PM * "Why did she even have me?" "Alexa treated me better than this." "..." *Engel thinks about what he said to Bubble. "Her parents weren't around for her that much." That's the last thing Bubble ever heard of them. * "Did she? Did she really not care about her? Would she have even brought her back to the lab if she really didn't care? " *12:00 PM* "I miss Bubble. Claire to. " "Does Alexa even know? " "Why couldn't I stop her? Why did they turn on her? On us? " *Engel's getting tired at this point. These thoughts are slowly consuming him. He can't just go to sleep here either. * *He'd rather get scolded by his mom than risk it. He knocks on the door. * *It opens. * ???: H- *sighs* you could've knocked earlier. I can't believe that you'd wake me up so late. *Engel's mom leaves, allowing Engel to finally enter his home. He locks the door behind him and goes to his room. The first thing he does is look for - * *Quack* *Bubble's pet duck awakes at the sound of Engel opening the door. * Engel: Sorry I didn't warn you. Thank you for not getting into any trouble. *Engel lies on his bed, attempting to get as much sleep as he can. *
