FPE Impetus AU: Grading

A 4 to 5 year old Claire is awoken by a direct set of words. *"Sweetie. We're here." * *Claire wakes up. Her mother's holding her. She must have fallen asleep on the way here. Her mother, Dr. Alexa Alexander puts her down so she can walk by herself. * Dr. Alexa: Alright. Claire *Alexa bends down to be as close to Claire's level as possible. * Do you want to know what I've been doing? *Claire nods her head. * Dr. Alexa: Follow me. *Alexa, holding Claire's hand, walks towards a locked room. She puts in a code, causing it to open. * *A boy with orange hair is sitting in the room. At first, Claire doesn't fully understand why she's here, but she realizes something upon getting closer. Both of his arms are a different length from each other. His hands are wrapped in bandages. He seems to have a tail as well. The room has various objects to keep one's attention. Crayons. Toy cars. Etc. * *The boy notices Dr. Alexa and Claire and waves. * ???: Hi Dr. Alexa. Dr Alexa: Hello Engel. I'd like you to meet my daughter. *Alexa moves to the side, allowing Engel to finally see Claire. * Engel: Hi Claire. Nice to meet you. Claire: um ... hi ... Engel. *Claire moves backwards slightly. * mom ... (whispering) how does - Dr. Alexa (Whispering): I'll show you.  * Dr. Alexa moves herself and Claire over to Engel's table. * Dr. Alexa: Engel, *Dr. Alexa grabs a ... kn*fe from her pocket and puts it on the table. She looks at Engel and gives a thumbs up. *  *Engel grabs the kn*fe (The metal part) and crushes it in his hand. Claire takes a few more steps back, She's seen how objects like that have been used. She's seen so many cuts on the arm of someone she - but her mother grabs her hand to keep her calm. *   Dr. Alexa: We help people. Maybe not like how most other doctors would but ... look at him. Stronger than anyone should be at his age. And he's only the first. If we perfect the process, Claire, this could really make things better for everyone. *Claire somewhat understands what her mother meant but ... her timidness is overwhelming her other emotions. * Dr. Alexa: I have to go. You'll need to stay with Engel until I'm done. Don't worry. He won't hurt you. *Claire looks at her mother with a shocked expression, realizing that she gave her mom the wrong impression. Dr. Alexa looks at Engel. * Keep her safe. *Dr. Alexa leaves the room, causing a small clicking sound to be heard. *
