*Knock *
*Knock *
*Knock*
*∆lice opens her eyes; her sleep interrupted by something hitting the door. Too lazy to get out of bed, she extends a tendril to open the door, revealing Oliver/K behind it. *
Oliver/K: Hiiii.
∆lice: What do you want?
Oliver/K: I - Should I have waited? I didn't mean to upset you, I-
*∆lice gets out of bed and shapeshifts from normal clothing to her standard gown. *
∆lice: It's fine, I probably should've slept less anyway.
Oliver/K: umm, sure. So, I actually wanted to go out somewhere. Y'know, a date.
∆lice: ...
Oliver/K: ∆lice?
∆lice: Yes. I'd enjoy that. Where would we go?
Oliver/K: Well, I was hoping we'd go to ... wherever you wanted to go.
∆lice: I ... would prefer if you chose.
Oliver/K: What? Why?
∆lice: I don't have any ... reason to pick something out myself. It would be a waste of brain power to do this myself.
Oliver/K: *Sighs* Alright, let me think. *...* Alright, how about the music bar-
∆lice: No.
Oliver/K: W- Why-
∆lice: They will be there. Besides, its too early.
Oliver/K: Its 11:00 AM, but I understand.
*"Was I really asleep for that long." ∆lice thinks. *
Oliver/K: Did you think I wouldn't get it if you didn't want to be around them? I checked the place out and I thought they wouldn't be there, so I-
∆lice: It's not that. It's ... nothing. Pick something else.
Oliver/K: Well, we could go visit ∆iden.
∆lice: *Ugh* They're so boring. She never speaks and she doesn't let me eat the b*dies in her cabin.
Oliver/K: We could ... Oh, I got it. Y'know those fields we used to hang out at when we were kids?
∆lice: No. We-
Oliver/K: I'm really trying. I really don't know what else I could suggest that'd make you happy.
∆lice: I'd be happiest in my room at the Paper School.
Oliver/K: It'll take until Monday till you can go back. I-
∆lice: Who cares? I don't even know why I need a stupid lock on their anyway.
Oliver/K: The mall?!
∆lice: No. I would never enter such a disgusting building.
Oliver/K: I ... ... ... Maybe ... How about we go to one of my friend's houses? It wouldn't be a date, but it's better than nothing.
∆lice: ... Fine.
Oliver/K: Thank you. Let me just. *Oliver/K opens an email on their phone. They flip their phone to allow ∆lice to see the screen. * Teleport us here.
*∆lice grabs Oliver/K hand and, in a flash of red light, they're both teleported to Edward's house. *
A few minutes before:
*Edward sits in a chair while meticulously studying a notebook. His room is covered in blueprints and scrap metal. The biggest blueprint is one of his most complex, yet most cherished, creation, his remote-controlled drone. He had created it at school and had gotten Oliver/K to let Miss Grace bring it back with him.
The thought of how it could be modified was the only thing in his mind, hindering his ability to retain any of the information from his studying. The ideas of technological innovation tempt him to stop studying, but he resists. There can be no risks when college is on the table. *
*A noise, indescribable to Edward, is heard. Its distant and would've most likely been unnoticed had Edward's room been any further away from the living room. He opens the door and walks toward his living room, making sure to not make any sounds should the source of it be dangerous. *
Oliver/K: Hi, Edward.
Edward: Wh- The FU*K are you doing here? How'd you *Edward turns on the light switch, allowing to notice ∆lice standing beside Oliver/K. Any ideas or thoughts of speech are immediately impaled by the looming threat of what ∆lice could do to him should he step out of line with his words. * - I mean - It's nice to see you. I was just a little surprised since you, y'know, didn't warn me before you showed up.
Oliver/K: Yeah, I'd probably be scared to. Anyway -
