The nightmares

They returned to the hotel only in the late afternoon, when all the main things Charlie and Veggie had already done. Alastor and Lucifer got actively involved in the work: they helped with the paperwork and rearranging the furniture quite well. Soon, the tired ruler went to sleep in his room, and the radio demon spoke with the residents of Hazbin.
— I just want to sleep...
Lucifer lay down on the bed without even spreading it or changing his clothes. Naturally, he took off his shoes, hat, and cloak, but the rest of his clothes remained on him. His eyes involuntarily closed, and the king of hell fell into a deep sleep.
The fog thickened to the point where he could only see out to the length of his arm. Beyond that, there was darkness. Complete darkness. There were no sensations, either. There were no sounds, no smells, and not even the sound of his own breathing. What was this place like? It was like nothing at all, and could only be described as a fog. A shadow slipped and disappeared again. A painfully recognizable and familiar voice was heard.
— You're a bad father, Lucifer, and a poor angel... Ha, what's the point? You don't even look like a demon, and you can't control hell. Who are you?
A tall silhouette slowly approached the fallen angel, and her features became clearer: a slender figure and long hair.
— Lilyth...
Lucifer looked at her in fear and took a step back. She stopped in front of him and gave him an indifferent glance.
— I don't love you anymore, you've changed. You're not the same as I used to see you. Look at yourself.
— Lilith, wait, I... — her silhouette disappeared into thin air. There was only the fog again. Lucifer froze in place, nervously clutching his cane in his hand. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he struggled to keep from crying.
— Fuck... Why now, when everything is more or less fine with me? Why, why?
He violently threw the hat on the ground. His own thoughts were bothering him. He stood alone in the nebula for a long time until he noticed another silhouette. The King of hell was alert, but the stranger's trail was gone. Could it be Lilith again?..
— So, who's so sad? Come on, my friend, smile!
Lucifer turned around cautiously. He was greeted by the radio demon's creepy smile as always.
— What are you doing here, Alastor?
The demon gave the king of hell a mysterious look and approached him. Alastor took Lucifer's hand and pulled him closer, which was something Lucifer clearly didn't expect from him.
— I'm here to comfort you, my friend! My method should work!
Alastor then kissed the king of hell on the lips. It didn't last long, just a couple of seconds... Lucifer jumped up in surprise. And he woke up.
...
— I had a very strange dream last night... —Lucifer came to his senses only ten minutes after waking up. Although it was surprisingly real... He and Lilith weren't on good terms before she left him, and it's unlikely that she'll return.
It's been seven years since our last meeting... I'm no longer concerned about that. What the hell was Alastor doing in my dream? And... wait, what happened at the end?" I refuse to remember it!
Lucifer, unexpectedly even for himself, immediately got up from the bed and quickly got ready. He wanted to run away somewhere urgently and put himself somewhere, just so he wouldn't meet anyone now, especially this yellow-toothed mug...
As soon as the king went out into the corridor, this mug appeared in front of him out of nowhere. As it turned out, he was going on Charlie's behalf, and, unfortunately for Lucifer, the assignment was the room next to the king. Alastor said he'd been asked to sort through some papers there.
— You're up surprisingly early today, Lucifer! I assume you had a restless night?
— Not really... Just had a bad dream. — The lord of hell awkwardly turned away. His thoughts were beyond his control, and the moments from the dream replayed in his mind over and over again. Alastor smiled at Lucifer's face.
— Well, since you're awake, would you mind helping me with some matters? — The radio demon nodded towards the next door. Lucifer wasn't used to having anyone other than his family address him informally.
— Okay, I agree, there's nothing else to do...
The room was dusty and stuffy. It felt like no one had entered it since the hotel was built. It was an interesting place... Alastor and Lucifer got to work, but they were both in a depressed mood. The King of Hell noticed the change in the demon's demeanor, which was unusual for him, but he didn't say anything for a while. But sometimes it can be uncomfortable to be alone in complete silence.
Now I understand what it's like for others when I'm constantly anxious or confused... Well, it doesn't matter, I need to talk to Alastor, just in case something has happened to him.
— Alastor, it's not my business, but you don't look well today... Did you have a bad dream?
The radio demon twitched its ears in concern and looked at the blonde. — Do I look like someone who suffers from nightmares? Ah, no way... — He laughed awkwardly, nervously fiddling with his stick. — It's never happened before...
Lucifer, although he liked to play the fool sometimes, was very good at noticing details. Alastor's behavior immediately struck him as strange. He realized that this was exactly how he had been acting for the past week. Even if the Lord of Hell didn't notice it.
— Can you tell me, Alastor, who I can trust to tell me? I've already shared a lot about myself with you, now it's your turn!
— I also told you about myself back then... — The demon was smiling, but his eyes betrayed his mood. — Yes, I may not have slept very well the past few days. But today is the first time I've felt good after sleeping in a long time. My dream was quite unusual... I won't go into details. — the demon said, breaking out of his thoughts and turning away. — Forget about it, and pretend you didn't hear anything.
They continued their work. Lucifer found the coincidence strange. It wasn't the same dream he had, was it?
