Chapter 1

Okay then:
Once upon a time, there was said to be a forest guarding a magical fountain with water that can raise the lifespan of someone. However, this fountain is also said to be guarded by a protector. Ban has heard all this and frankly doesn't care aside from just a little excitement. Whatever the outcome doesn't matter much for a bandit like him. Besides, as he finds out, the forest has some pretty good wine and berries. Thus, when climbing a mountain of a tree to reach the sacred water, the only surprise comes to him in the form of a midget. Sure, a cute midget with a grumpy face, but certainly not a hag-
And Ban was tossed off the mountainous tree. Luckily he wasn't hurt, so he decides to climb it again. And again. And again. And again, and again, and again. After hours of climbing and falling, Ban reaches the top once more, except...well, he notices almost immediately how he isn't thrown off. The midget questions him and he answers. Probably not the answers he was wanting but Ban says what he feels like. Either way, he gets beat over the head (VERY literally, ow) the meaning of the magical fountain. He decides he wont drink the water, in that case. But...he'll certainly stick around.
___
"You make it sound so redundant!"
Ban smirks. "Maybe too you, but it has been 20 years, even if those were some of the greatest days of my life."
He hears a huff, but continues to talk when no further words come forth.
___
Seven days pass in pure bliss. Well, for Ban at least. The cute fountain-midget is always huffing and puffing so he may not agree as much.
Either way, he isn't thrown off (except on rare occasions where he makes the guardian red). Both of them talk and relax as much as they can around each other for the blending hours of the week. Apparently the midget-or fairy- was really lonely. His sister was off for a little break, so he stepped in for her. Ban thought it was sweet, though he wished the silly girl would come back so he could actually move around with her brother. What neither was expecting would be the fire, or the demon that came with it.
He certainly wasn't, especially when the red beast doesn't go down after ripping its heart out. Thus, Ban was saved thanks to his new little fairy friend. They both almost got hurt, however they got away. Who knows what would've happened if it was someone else guarding the life of the forest?...
___
Ban pauses in his story again when he hears a hum.
"Yes?"
"I suppose it IS a good thing I was there instead of Elaine...I know she's strong, and rather self sacrificing for the forest, but..."
He doesn't need to say the rest. Ban can take a guess as to how events would have turned out if it wasn't his dear friend. Nothing good.
"Well, everything happened as it did anyways. Though I certainly could have done without your people skewering me."
"Agh! Shut up! They made up for it with the Forest's life water, you ungrateful-"
"Alright, alright. Back to reminiscing."
___
As he said before, Ban was indeed attacked and skewered on MANY things by his midget's people. They were quite furious about the cremation of their lands. In turn, when they found out he did nothing wrong, they gave him the water of the dying forest. He was almost reluctant at first, but a certain someone gladly shoved it down his throat before he could refuse and die. Still, Ban felt bad enough to help the fairies relocate to new lands and trees. It took several more days, especially with his lack of wings. Yet him and his fairy found a glorious mountain pass that was full of everything the fairies could really need. He couldn't stay though. And it turns out the fairy guardian- or, king rather- didn't want to either. His people agreed for his vacation away, thus allowing their ruler to have a little freedom while they wait for his sister to return. Ban and his cute friend travel to many places, although they end up in more trouble than the shorter of the two will ever really admit to. It’s hard to say how long or even how far across the lands they went but they enjoyed the freedom regardless. This would also be around the time they start to discover some...interesting things about themselves.
For one, Ban becomes near homicidal if anyone but himself calls the fairy cute/handsome/pretty or any of the above. Basically no compliments.
The king himself gets more grumpy than normal when he catches nearly everyone stare at his improperly clothed human. His words, not Bans.
___
A pillow hits Ban's head.
"Now hold on a minute! I never said anything of the freaking sort, Ban!"
"Sure you didn't, Harley."
___
Anyways, time passes at a beautiful rate while feelings develop. Though just before the sparks can set off as Ban is wanting them, a lovely young girl appears. And skewers him.
Ban isn't bothered by this, not at all. He's used to it.
What did get to him would be his cute, little friend cracking off instead of defending him. She gives Ban dirty glares while simultaneously checking over Ban’s fairy. He almost ends up retaliating with his magic, though when he finds out who this girl is he decides he can let it slide. She seems to be on a similar page when the destruction of her forest is explained. However, Ban also becomes sure that getting the fairy king's sister on his good side could be used for some good advantages~
___
"..."
"IS THAT WHY YOU BECAME FRIENDS WITH HER!?"
Ban smiles innocently.
His cute fairy rages but he decides to continue on once more with retelling old memories.
___
Ban is in for a... rather depressing surprise though. The fairy princess, seeing as how she's the sister of the fairy king, came to bring him back. Ban is certainly upset by this and so is his fairy. But the princess is insistent, enough to sway her brother into returning to the new fairy home. It seems he reluctantly bids farewell to Ban even as he clearly doesn’t hold much heart for the situation. Ban himself wants to scream. Still, he keeps composed with the thought of eventually reuniting together in time. They both certainly have plenty of it.
The fairy king leaves, at least not without a promise. Ban and the princess are to watch out for each other while she continues her adventures with her new group of knight friends. Both are reluctant, if only just a little at first, but manage and make their way back into human territory. Luckily for Ban, the King of the humans sees potential in him when they eventually arrive. He ends up joining the princess and others. Over time, they all ended up becoming powerful, ferocious. They become known as the Seven Deadly Sins.
But that's a little to no fun story, so this shall go back to Ban and his lacking of a certain fairy.
It’s safe to say he misses him. Alot. Enough to almost run out of the knighthood just to visit the fairy king. He doesn’t, if only because of said fairy’s sister.
That doesn’t mean that when the collapse of the Seven Deadly Sins happens years later he’s all that happy. No. Rather, Ban becomes near ecstatic.
___
“UUUGGHHHH, BAANNNNNN!”
“Hm?” Ban looks over his shoulder for a moment.
Blue wings flutter in annoyance, blowing wind into Ban’s eyes, if only to sting them a little. It’s not very effective…
He huffs at the smirk Ban sends him. “Don’t be so mushy, ya’ weirdo…” he mumbles out.
It’s so adorable that Ban decides to add even more mushyness to the story.
___
Hardly any time passes between the disbanding of the Sins and Ban’s return to his fairy king. Elaine travels with him too of course, but he isn’t focused on that. No, from that point until he reaches his goal, his head is only filled with the same person. And what a shock it was to said person when they arrived. The fairy princess rejoices with her people as Ban smothers his friend. Such a short time apart, yet an eternity already seemed to have passed for him. Most likely it felt the same with how hard the fairy king squeezed his bones. It took time but he settled in without complaint from any fairy, adjusting himself enough so he could live with the person he cherishes so much now in life. Even more than ten years later, seven of which consist of a blossoming marriage between Ban and his fairy, the world outside them is near worthless in comparison.
___
"Ban. Stop talking right now or I'll rip out your ribs."
A threat. But a cute one, in Ban's opinion. So he'll gladly shut up.
His fairy smirks in triumph, flopping down onto his favorite pillow with an airy of laziness. And who would Ban really be if he didn't join in? The king of fairies has never minded before.
Looking at the young pile of children dozing off on a large pillow, he gingerly gets up and lays down next to his Harlequin.
The End! (or not)
