Clay's secret/ Part 3

It's been about two weeks. Lance's condition improved, but for some reason the whole team started to shun me, making up excuses not to go to practice. They used to do it day in and day out, but now they do it every time I make a practice. At least I get to spend a little more time with my dad....   Flashback   June 16. The final battle for Knighton is coming up. If we lose, I don't know how we'll look the king in the eye. We are the defenders of this kingdom. We must save it, but dark magic is no joke, even if you're not the one using it. We're down one knight. I don't think we can win, but we have to fight. Good luck to us.   I put the journal in the nightstand, gave a quick kiss to a peacefully sleeping Lance on the lips, and was just about to leave the room when my boyfriend called out to me: “Clay?”   “Yeah, babe?”   “Where are you going?” He asked sleepily.   “It's time to fight for our friends, for our families, for our home, for Knighton.”   “Please, be careful.”   “Don't worry. We'll win this battle, we'll save Knighton, and we'll finally have some quiet days to get married, have a baby or two.” I sat down on the bed again.   Lance slowly got up on his hands, or rather, tried to get up. The boy was trembling all over. The doctor came in yesterday, said it was just a normal fever caused by being out in the cold for a long time. Yesterday was 38 and 5, today best 37 and 7. I wish he'd get better soon. It's hard to see your loved one suffer.   “Don't waste your energy, Lance. Get some rest. I'll be back before you know it.”   “You promise?”   “I promise.” I kissed him on the nose and left the room, heading for the main hall.   The others were already gathered there.   “I have something for you.” Ava said. “I finished restoring Merlok's memory and this is what I found.”   An image of Monstrox and some kind of symbol appeared on the screen.   Merlok started to say something about it, but I wasn't listening, because I had a clear picture in my head of the ceiling of the house, the rattles, or whatever it's called, hanging over the bed, one of which looked like that symbol. There were also small shields hanging from ropes, as if with Nexo powers. Here a father and mother approached the crib. Both silhouettes are smudged, so it's hard to tell who's who. The father starts tickling me, and I reach for the bracelet on his arm, with the same shields as the toy.   “I'm sorry, baby. It's still early, but when you grow up and discover magic and learn to control it, you'll inherit this bracelet.” Father said, removing his hand. “You will become a great magician.”   Suddenly a loud slamming of the door is heard. Father walks out the door and I start to cry.   He returns a few minutes later, picks me up in his arms and tries to calm me down.   “It's okay, Clay. Shh. It's going to be okay. I'm never going to leave you.”   My vision clears and I see Monstrox in front of me.   I was brought out of my reverie by a clicking sound in my ear.   “Clay, are you okay? It's like you're in another dimension.” Macy put her hand on my shoulder.   “It can't be, it's not true.” I mumble to myself.   “Wha-" Before Macy can ask, I run out of the main hall and into my room to check if it's true or not.   I reach into my nightstand and grab my medical papers and quickly go through them, looking for the right one and I found it.   Name: Clay Moorington.   Date of birth: June 30, xxxx.   Place of birth: Dnullib.   Mother: Wanda Moorington   Father: Monstrox....   I couldn't believe my eyes. Am I really the son of the most dangerous villain of all time.... I drop to my knees, breathing heavily, trying to digest everything I've learned. No wonder my family tree has been archived....   I slowly get up from my knees, walk to the training room and start swinging my sword, trying to calm my ardor somehow. Why me?   Suddenly, Merlock contacts me.   “Clay, what happened? Why did you run away so abruptly?”   “Why did you hide the truth?”   “What truth?”   “You know everything!” I abruptly shoot an energy beam out of my hand. The magic "cuts through".   “No... Did that really happen?”   “I know Monstrox is my father. Why did you do this to him?”   “Clay, my boy, I didn't know Monstrox was your father. I didn't even know who you really were. You were handed to me almost as soon as you were born.”   “Unchain my father.”   “What exactly do you want me to do?”   “To make my father human again. You turned him into a book, so you can make him human again.”   “I'll try.”   Merlok passed out, and I continued to break the targets.   After the final battle, everything was back to normal. Jestro was back to being good, the kingdom was safe, but most importantly, my father was human again, but the team was shying away from him, and I was questioning why I hadn't said anything about it before, keeping everything a secret again, and I was a little shy of him, because he was a necromancer, but then everything was back to normal, and I could finally spend some quality time with him and find out everything, especially who my mother was and why they'd abandoned me. END Flashback.   I continued to sit on the roof of Fortrex and talk to my dad about various topics until Lance came up to us.   “Guess what?” He said.   “What?” I asked   “My parents are sailing to another kingdom to solve some problems, although it could be called a cruise, and they allowed me to take my friends with me. The rest of the crew agreed, but are you going?”   “Only if my dad comes with us.”   “Okay. I'll go pack. We have to get up early tomorrow. You have to be at the dock at 5:00 a.m. Don't stay up too late. If you oversleep, you'll stay here.” Lance kissed me on the cheek and went off to pack.   “That goes for you too, Mr. I like to sleep in.” I shouted after him, hearing laughter in return.   “Are you dating him?” Dad asked.   “You're not going to fight?" My father shook his head in the negative. “Yes. He and I are dating and I want to propose to him, but most likely we will have to break up and not be a family.”   “Why not?”   “His parents want him to marry Macy, but neither he nor she want him to.”   “His parents don't know you two are a couple?”   “No. They're hard on him. I don't know what would happen if they found out their son was dating a commoner and gay.”   “I'm sorry for you. I'm all for your relationship.” Father said a little sadly. “The main thing is that you are happy, and with whom you are happy - it does not matter.”   “You're right, but how do you explain it to them?”   “Time will tell.” He looked off into the distance. “Well, we'd better go pack and go to bed if we don't want to be late.”   “You're absolutely right.”   We packed up, talked some more, went to bed, and headed for the dock in the morning.
