That night, the land of Dreams brought me a fanged animal with long gray hair, huge slitted eyes and a sharp nose. I woke up in a cold sweat. Somehow, with indifference, I replayed the dream in my head, trying to guess where I would meet the monster today. Stopped in the kitchen. But that didn’t stop me from going there to make breakfast. I looked at the wall calendar. Twenty eighth of October. This is the third day in a row that I’ve been stuck here. I opened the refrigerator and my jaw dropped. It was defrosted and all the food was spoiled. It seems the world doesn’t like me. I wanted to die. My soul rebelled, not wanting to meet another monster. But I knew I wouldn’t run away. The house is not my fortress, I realized this yesterday, but I can’t go outside. No, of course it’s possible, but I don’t want to lose my hearing just yet. With a straight face, I walked into the bathroom, feeling for the switch with my hand. I pressed the button several times, but the light did not turn on. It looks like the power has gone out. I wonder if this happened all over the city or just me? I realized that one way or another I would have to go outside. After all, the food in the refrigerator has spoiled, and there are almost no canned goods. The thought immediately flashed through my head that, in fact, going out into the street was problematic. It’s unlikely that the howling has disappeared, but I don’t want to lose my hearing. The answer came immediately — soundproofing headphones. I went to my room, opened my closet and found what I was looking for. After getting dressed, I went outside. The howling began immediately. I smiled at my foresight. Even through the protection the noise could be heard, but not so much. Tolerable. I went to the nearest store. It was a ten minute walk from my house. I cursed the developers and walked faster. Once inside, I headed to the desired shelves. After putting chips, bread and canned goods in the cart, I walked out. It should have been enough for the first time. The howling began again. But I didn’t even pay attention to him. My house should have been visible by now. I turned my head and saw smoke coming from there. I ran there, but when I saw the cause of the fire, I stopped. A large creature with gray fur broke the roof and somehow managed to set the house on fire. As soon as I got closer, it turned towards me, breathing heavily and showing off its long fangs. It sniffed. I realized that it doesn’t see well. How can you even see anything through such narrow eyes? I, trying not to make any noise and leaving the cart, walked back. The stone crunched treacherously under my foot. The creature immediately stared at me with its slitted eyes. I froze. It, once again stretching its nose, sank onto all fours and ran towards me. As if I had woken up, I ran away from him, not caring about the noise I was making. It was approaching. I fell, caught by the powerful front paw. I turned over and stood up on my elbows. My leg was bleeding, and I threw away the opportunity to get up. The creature stood over me, breathing heavily. It just stared at me for a minute, and then picked me up by my jacket, touching my headphones in the process, causing me to try to cover my ears with my hands. But it didn’t let me, holding me motionless. At first I tried to break free, but then a wave of complete indifference came over me. The monster, realizing this, narrowed its eyes even more, and then slashed me across the chest with its clawed paw. I looked blankly as the blood spread throughout my body and almost passed out, but the actions of the creature brought me back to consciousness. Not satisfied with the effect, it began to inflict wounds on me, deep and not very, but painful. Finally, when I was covered in blood, it disappeared and I collapsed on the ground. The wounds have disappeared. I headed towards my house, finding the cart where I had left it. The house was also not damaged. I walked in silently. The howling died down a few minutes ago. I unloaded my things and prepared myself lunch. I didn’t really want to eat, but I needed some food. Then I went to the shower and undressed. The water was still working. Looking at myself in the mirror, I was stunned. On my chest, where the monster had inflicted the deepest wound on me, there was a small scratch. It looks like the nightmares are starting to come to life. So now I will get wounds in the “real” world too? I quickly took a shower, got dressed and went to the bedroom. I had to digest everything. I didn’t notice how I fell asleep.
