Chapter 13

Another day at work for Azriel. He’s been in this position for several million years, but he hasn’t been promoted. And there’s no way he’ll ever get one. Of course, a few centuries ago Azriel could not have imagined that he would work as a cab driver, but it was a really good way to learn a lot about his “clients”.
A young man in his twenties gets into his car and asks him to take him to the university.
- Are you a student?
- Of course I am.
- Yeah, well, that was a stupid thing to ask.
- It wasn’t like that at all. I could have gone to my brother’s, for example. Or my sister.
- You have a big family?
- Yes. I have two brothers and a sister.
- Do your parents make a lot of money? I guess the allowance doesn’t help much, does it?
- They make enough. And about the allowance, yes, you’re right. But we manage.
- That’s good. And your brothers and sister, are they older than you?
- Two twin brothers, then my sister and then me. I’m the youngest.
- They probably pay more attention to you.
- That’s for sure. One of my brothers never got in.
- What are you studying for?
- Engineering. I liked math and physics in high school.
- I was more into the humanities.
- That’s not a bad thing, of course.
- You’re very cheerful.
- Why be sad? You have to be optimistic!
- You’re right. Where do you want to work?
- I don’t know yet. But I hope I’ll become a sought-after worker!
- I’m sure of it. Good luck to you.
- Thank you!
- We’re here. Goodbye.
- Goodbye!
