Hunting and first bewilderment

Settings
Half the moon has passed. During this time, virtually nothing in the life of Bluefur and ThunderClan as a whole has changed much. Only one thing: Bluefur, going out into the forest, more often met Rosetail, and by her smell of daisies she determined that she was nearby. The cats began to spend time much more often, and Bluefur almost forgot about her sadness, and was always in a good mood and good spirits. At first, the warriors were very surprised what made this warrior, who was almost always gloomy after Snowfur’s death, smile. Many believed that it was all the fault of Thrushpelt, Bluefur's close friend, who liked her very much and was almost crazy about her. But it wasn't him. Bluefur decided to keep Rosetail and her encounters with her a deep secret from her fellow Clanmates, until something happened that surprised the cat a little. In the morning, as usual, Bluefur woke up and walked out of the warriors’ tent into the clearing, and what she saw instantly made her numb with surprise. In the clearing, right between the other warriors, sat completely calmly... Rosetail. Bluefur was shocked. «What is she doing here? And the warriors, I see, don’t touch her. Has Sunstar already accepted her into the clan, secretly from me? Or... did I oversleep?» — Bluefur shrugged. — «It doesn't matter, though. Since the warriors do not touch her, then perhaps she is now my fellow clanmate.» The gray cat was just getting ready to hunt, and decided to invite Rosetail with her. But as soon as she walked a short distance, Thrushpelt immediately blocked her way. — Hello, Bluefur! I see you are in a great mood today. Would you like to hunt with me? — he asked. — Sorry, Thrushpelt, but... I agreed to hunt with someone else. — Bluefur hurriedly walked around Thrushpelt and quickly walked towards Rosetail. She suppressed a surge of irritation. Thrushpelt, of course, was her best friend, but after the warriors began to spread rumors that they were supposedly together, this cat became too annoying. Having finally reached Rosetail, the warrior asked with a smile: —Rosetail, would you like to go hunting with me? — Oh, hello, Bluefur! — Rosetail answered, stopping licking her breast. — Of course I want! I'm always glad to be near you. — Okay then, let's head to the tall pines! Perhaps we'll find some loot there. — suggested Bluefur. — Oh, that sounds tempting. — Rosetail purred. — We'll catch a mouse or two, or maybe something more. — Bluefur agreed. But at that moment there was a whisper of two warriors talking to each other: Thistleclaw and Thrushpelt. — I always wanted to ask, who is she even talking to? There is no one here except her... — Thrushpelt asked in bewilderment. — How do I know? She's just crazy, that's what. I always knew this. — Thistleclaw hissed. — And anyway, why are you asking me this? Ask her yourself. You love her with us! But I won’t get involved in the affairs of this abnormal cat, through whose fault Snowfur died. — Thrushpelt did not answer, but only nodded silently, sighing. Bluefur did not attach any importance to the fact that they were whispering behind her back, nor did she attach any importance to the bewilderment with which the warriors looked at her when she and Rosetail left the camp. Two cats walked through the forest, illuminated by the rays of the sun falling between the trees. It was quiet all around, and only the birds were singing, sitting on the branches of the trees. When the mixed forest began to thin out, and tall pines began to appear in even rows instead, the cats stopped. Bluefur began to sniff and listen. And thus, the cat heard a slight rustling near the roots of one of the pine trees, and later noticed a vole swarming there. —Look, there! — Bluefur whispered, pointing her tail at the mouse. Rosetail, noticing the prey, perked up and sharply bent down to the ground, pretending to sneak up. — Well, hold on, little mouse! — Rosetail hissed, waving her tail. — Now the fearless Rosetail will catch you and save the rest of the cats from hunger! — but Rosetail failed to save the cats from hunger. She made a lot of noise with her wagging of her tail, and the mouse ran away with a frightened squeak. Rosetail sat down with incomprehensible surprise, and Bluefur looked at her mockingly. — You are definitely not in any danger now, Rosetail. — she grinned. — Looks like someone forgot the rules of hunting! — But no! — Rosetail was indignant. — And in general, it was more interesting this way. — Hunting requires silence, not interest, — sighed Bluefur. «Well, she's just like a kitten! She just wants to play!» — she thought, covering her ears. — «But to be honest... That's what I like about her. It’s fun to be with her, and her inexhaustible positivity and joy greatly brighten up my life and make it brighter... That is ok. Even if she forgot about hunting, I will help her.» — Soon, the warrior noticed another mouse swarming nearby. — Here, there's another mouse! Just let me catch her myself now... — Rosetail didn't mind at all, and obediently remained sitting in place, waiting for Bluefur. The warrior easily, remembering all the hunting techniques, caught the mouse in no time, and trotted back to the clearing, where Rosetail was waiting for her. And imagine her surprise when she discovered that the cat was not there. Bluefur began to look around worriedly and run around, looking for the cat and trying to smell the daisies. And then, she breathed a sigh of relief when she soon finally found Rosetail. The cat stood waving her bright red tail, and in her mouth she held a large rabbit. It was so big that it could feed several warriors. Rosetail slowly walked over to Bluefur and placed the rabbit at her paws. — I barely caught up with him, he was so fast! — the cat said with a sigh. — But I showed him what I can do! — Bluefur looked at Rosetail with admiration, and realized how much she had underestimated her. — Well done, Rosetail! — the gray cat purred. — I think the warriors will be very grateful. — Of course! — Rosetail agreed and picked up the rabbit. So, having picked up their prey, the cats headed to the camp
