4. Music

Settings
Music accounts for 60% of a film's success. Of course, it’s stupid to compare musical accompaniment, because each of them is perfect for its series. But... damn, we are already comparing the 3 best film adaptations! So it won't get any worse. For me, music, beautiful music has always been something unearthly, hypnotizing, and strings are generally my weakness. I was very happy when I found out that Holmes plays the queen of all instruments, the violin. so come on, less words more action.  USSR Exactly, 100%, not a minute of hesitation, winner. You see, I subconsciously fell in love with the film, already when the inscription “The adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson” appeared and the melody began. From the very first notes I have a smile from ear to ear from the music. At the beginning solemnly, in moments of loneliness and melancholy it is melancholic, drawn-out, and sometimes depressed. Danger - excited, agitated (agitato), and jokes and pranks are simple, fun, playful.  Even the Sherlock Holmes Museum on Baker Street plays the famous overture. By the way, there was an opinion that this was plagiarism, and Dashkevich stole this melody from the British. but no, the composer himself wrote this incredible music. in a word, 2 points (sorry, you can’t get 10). Something I noticed is that choosing second and third places is much more difficult than choosing first. But nonetheless… BBC Gets 0 points, which is a shame. I started from the end, it’s easier to explain what I didn’t like. Everything is simple - the same theme. The whole point is that it was not the actor who adapted to the composer, but the composer who adapted to the actor. This shouldn't happen! Let me explain, Cumberbatch learned to play the violin before filming, but during filming he didn’t play the melody or even imitate it, he just moved the bow. And the composer wrote a melody based on his movements. Therefore, I only remember the main theme, which Benedict did not play.  Granada The melodies are mostly agitato, lively, enthusiastic or drawn-out. But somehow they are expressive and create an atmosphere perfectly. 1 point Result: USSR 7+2=9 points Granada 4+1=5 points BBC 4+0=4 points
