2. Riddles

Everyone knows that Arthur Conan Doyle considered his stories about the great detective easy reading and did not share much love for his hero. And I share his point of view, but only with the first part of the statement. you see, well, it wasn’t like I was tormented, wondering who the criminal was. No, it was interesting for me to watch how Sherlock Holmes does it. His conclusions delighted me, but the riddles and their solutions did not amaze me, like the original and non-standard crimes of Agatha Christie (it sounded strange... but you get the idea). BBC  Has no competition in this regard, and of course it gets all the laurels, namely 2 points. Sometimes Sherlock's arguments are absurd and taken out of thin air, but the ending is almost always amazing (except for season 4, of course!). The only thing that often angered me was that you have to be in constant tension, not only because it’s exciting, but because you’re afraid of missing something, of listening. Cumberbatch speaks too quickly for a detective, but he explains a complex case, speaking without pauses, which makes it impossible to sort out all the information in his head. But I’ll give it credit, Benedict’s diction is incredible. But this often infuriated me. You can't sit and relax in the company of a good movie. But despite this, I consider this series an ideal detective story, if not... okay, more on that later. The other two films are very careful about the source material. But if in Granada we clearly understand what is happening, then in the Soviet version I was lost in the treasures of Agra and the twentieth century begins. I understood the last one only after 2-3 viewings. But I liked how Holmes became a double agent and fooled everyone. It was cool. Maslennikov hypnotizes us with the music, the atmosphere, the brilliant performances of all the actors and the chemistry between them. Everything, but not a detective story. At the beginning of summer I wrote a list of all of Doyle's works about Sherlock so that I could read them all. But then I gave up on it and watched the series with Brett. After viewing, only 19 stories remained in the list. Among them are stories that have not been filmed and those that I specifically want to read because of certain points that have undergone changes. For example, a vampire in Sussex or a Mazarin stone. The stories may be light and not very complex and confusing, but it is clear who, why, where they are going and what they are surprised or happy about. Plus, there is no constant tension here, like the bbc, relax and watch, you can even turn it on in the background, like me. Result: USSR 5 + 0 = 5 points Granada 1 + 1 = 2 points bbc 0 + 2 = 2 points
