«Twilight». Isabella Swan. Friend (#13)

Notes:
Imagine that you were Bella's childhood friend. You were inseparable, but when her parents divorced, she left with her mother, and you stayed in Forks. *** You got a job in another city, and during your vacation you came to your parents to visit them, as you did (or tried to do) every year, and they told you that they had seen Bella in the city. Excited, you went to Charlie's (everyone in town knew where the sheriff lived, but preferred to stop by his office at the police station) to at least ask for his daughter's phone number. You drove up to his house and saw a gray car, it seems, of the Mercedes Guardian brand (however, you were not one hundred percent sure of this, since you did not know all the car brands in the world), standing on the driveway in front of the house. You tried to calm your heart, which was pounding happily for some reason, and got out of the car. "Good afternoon," you politely greeted Charlie, who nodded back at you, "and…" "Hi, Y/N," he smiled at you. "Bella's upstairs. There..." he didn't have time to finish, as you immediately ran up the stairs, and waved his hand. You quickly knocked on the door of her room. Although impatience burned you from the inside, but you did not break into her room, because it was her personal space and she could stay there as long as she wanted. You heard Bella's footsteps, and then, seconds later, the door opened. "Hi," you smiled at her. "Hello, Y/N, my God," shocked Bella looked at you with all her eyes, blinking slowly. "I'm not "God,"" you giggled, smiling broadly. Bella turned, apparently, to someone who remained in the room. Apparently, Charlie wanted to tell you the same thing, that Bella is clearly not alone here. "Edward, this is Y/N, my childhood friend," she smiled gently, "Y/N, and this is Edward Cullen, my husband," saying these words, she seemed to shine with happiness. A dark-haired guy with unusual golden eyes approached her. "Nice to meet you, Y/N, I'm Edward Cullen," the man's velvety voice enveloped you like a blanket. You nodded automatically, as if enchanted, and shook his outstretched hand. "Wait, Cullen? Dr. Carlisle Cullen's son, isn't he? "When did you get married?" you finally recovered from the initial shock and looked indignantly at your best friend. "A month before my birthday, on August thirteenth," she smiled at you, "I'm sorry, I didn't..." she rolled her eyes, and then remembered something and calmed down, "dad said that you were leaving and I…" "Damn it," you swore, mentally reproaching yourself for forgetting that you were out of town. "But you should at least tell me, Bella! I would have taken tickets for another day!" you weren't yelling at her at all, you were just trying to convey your thoughts. "I didn't want to disrupt your plans," Bella smiled guiltily. Okay, good… After thinking a little, you stepped closer and hugged your friend. She stood frozen like a statue for a couple of seconds, and then gently hugged you back. "You're cold," you noted, pulling away, "are you feeling unwell?" "No, no," Bella waved her hands, "everything's fine, honestly," she put her hand on her chest, trying to assure you that she was fine. You looked at her suspiciously. "Oka-a-a-ay ..." you drawled, squinting suspiciously. "I swear, Y/N," Bella said honestly and you couldn't help but believe her, "everything is fine," she smiled at you. "And," you suddenly remembered, "can I find out whose car is in the yard?" it was, of course, not necessary to find out, but you were too curious. "My," Swan... although, probably, already Cullen, smiled sheepishly, and then looked at her husband. "My parents gave Bella a wedding present," he explained, looking at Bella and smiling a little. "I see," you nodded, "Bella, if you suddenly forgot my number, I can text it to you," you suggested, looking into your friend's face, "or write it down on a piece of paper, I'll leave it downstairs at Charlie's." "Yes, it would be great," Bella laughed and you felt a little superfluous here and now. "Okay, then I'll go," without meeting any resistance, you waved goodbye to Bella and Edward and headed away from the room, to the stairs to go down to the first floor. "Wait!" suddenly there was a sound behind you. You stopped and turned around. Bella caught up with you, closing the door to the room. "I wanted to say..." she bit her lip, clearly worried, and then took a deep breath, exhaled and said decisively, "I have a daughter." You rolled your eyes, looking at her dumbfounded. "You got married a few months ago and you want to tell me that you already have a daughter?! Of course, I have problems with mathematics, but not so much..." you drawled incredulously, squinting at her with increasing suspicion. "No," Bella laughed, "Renesmee is our adopted daughter." She was telling something else (so you realized that Renesmee is not a baby, but a more adult child), and even though you listened to her, you still watched her eyes shine with genuine happiness. Well, that's fine. The most important thing is that she likes everything and is happy. "I'm glad that everything is wonderful for you, really," you smiled sincerely. Hugging her again, you said: "If you want to meet, I will be glad. I'll write you the address too," you grinned, and Bella smiled back at you, "by the way, you can take your daughter with you, I'd like to meet her," she nodded, promised to talk to her about it, let go of your hand and returned to her room, to her husband. You shook your head, thinking about how fast time flies and hurried down to the first floor.
