Chapter 8

When I woke up, I quickly cleaned myself up and went downstairs for breakfast. My father was already sitting at the table.
– Good morning, – I said.
– Morning, dear. This dress suits you very well, you are so beautiful, – my father said, examining me.
Today I wore a black sleeveless dress with a full skirt, the sun.
– Thank you, – I smiled.
I sat down at the table and started eating breakfast. We were silent all the time. Suddenly, my father's voice distracted me.
– How did you sleep?
– Great. The bed is very soft and I slept well, – I smiled happily, looking at my parent.
– Glad to hear it, – the mobster smiled.
– What are you going to do today?
– I have several meetings scheduled this evening. And before that, I'll devote the whole day to you, – Edward smiled. – What do you want to know?
– About your family. About grandma and Grandpa. Honestly, I'd like to know everything, – I answered without thinking much.
– Okay, I'll definitely tell you about everything, – Edward smiled, and I felt the happiest in the world.
After breakfast, my father took me to the library. There we sat comfortably on upholstered chairs, facing each other.
– My father, James Hamilton, was a military man, he was testing new weapons. He served in the special forces and devoted most of his life to this. My mother, Anna Brown, was a nurse. My father was injured on a mission and went to the hospital, where he met his love. They got married and they had me. I was not the only child in the family. I had a younger brother, Christian, and a younger sister, Jennifer. Unfortunately, Christian was killed by one of the bandits, in the evening on a walk with friends. He was only seventeen years old. It was a great loss for our family. And in the hope of revenge, I got into the mafia world, which I could not leave anymore…
– Where is it, Aunt? Will I be able to meet her?
– Yes, – the man smiled. – Tomorrow she will fly in from Holland and stay with us for a while.
After talking with my father before lunch, we went to eat. Today I learned a lot about my father, and also looked at the photo album. It was so unusual to feel not alone. To know that there is a man I can call father. Present. And who loves me even though he's only known me for a few days.
– Mr. Hamilton, you have company, – the maid said as she entered the hall.
– Who?
– Mr. Tom Hiddleston.
My heart skipped a beat. I looked at my father with fear and clenched my hands into fists.
– Let him in, – my father ordered. – Don't be afraid, dear, everything will be fine. You're perfectly safe here.
Without answering, I turned my gaze to the doors. Hiddleston entered the room with a grin on his lips. Meeting my gaze, the mafioso smiled, examining me.
– What did you come with? – Edward said calmly.
– I wanted to check on my fiancee and talk to her, – Tom grinned, looking at his father.
– Okay, – I said calmly. – But after that, you will leave my house immediately!
– Agreed, – the mafia nodded, looking at me.
When I got up from the table, I caught my father's worried look.
– Father, I won't be long, – I smiled tightly.
Edward nodded and smiled. Turning around, I went to my room, Hiddleston following me. When I got to the second floor, I stopped at the door. Taking a deep breath, I entered the room. I sat down in the chair and looked at the man.
– What did you want to talk about? – I said as calmly as possible, trying to calm the small trembling in my hands.
– Darling, – Tom grinned, sitting down in the chair opposite. – Our first meeting turned out to be, let's say so... not very. I didn't think it would turn out like this.
– You bet, – I chuckled. – After all, the whole world doesn't revolve around you, Hiddleston.
– I'll prove you wrong soon. In a month, you will become my wife and then I will show you how the world revolves around me, – the mafia grinned, examining me.
– What if I disappear? – I provoked Tom.
– You wouldn't dare.
– And if I dare? – I was openly mocking you.
– Then you will regret it very much. I'll take everything you hold dear from you. Starting with Alexander Kravts and his family, ending with Edward. My father tried to kill him once, but I think I could finish what I started, – the mafia boss said seriously.
– What if you don't like me and you want to kill me the day after the wedding?!
– I don't think so, – Hiddleston smiled. – I have studied your biography a little, and you are quite an interesting person.
– And if I can't love you? – I said softly, looking straight into the man's eyes.
– I will do everything to make you love, – the mafia man said calmly, looking into my eyes.
There was silence in the room. Lowering my gaze, I began to examine my hands. Will he make you? What kind of nonsense is this? How can you make a person fall in love? After all, you can't order your heart? Or will you order it?
– Will you make me love you? – I grinned, looking up. – Are you sure you can do it?
– Quite, – Tom said calmly.
– I want to disappoint you, you're not my type, – I smiled maliciously, wanting to annoy the mafia.
- Yes? – Hiddleston grinned. – And who do you like, such as Donal?
– Are you jealous? – I raised my eyebrows and laughed. – Wait, are you in love with me?
An unexpected realization dawned on me, causing a shock. This just can't be happening! But when did he get there? Now it's clear why I wasn't killed the first time, when I thwarted all Hiddleston's plans...
– Well, let's say yes, I like you, Hamilton, – Tom grinned, looking straight into my eyes.
– That's a twist, – I whispered, grinning.
I never would have thought that I would be able to win the heart of the most important boss of the English mafia.
A second later, Hiddleston gets up from his chair and walks towards me. I quickly got up from my seat and took a few steps back.
– Hey, what are you doing? – I whispered, looking into the man's eyes.
But, the mafioso did not answer anything and rushed in my direction. A second later, I'm pinned against the wall. When I hit the man's leg with my knee, I hoped that his grip would loosen, but no. Tom only grabbed my arms harder and pressed me against the wall. Breathing heavily, I looked straight into the man's eyes.
– This dress suits you very well, – Hiddleston whispered, his hot breath searing my ear. – You smell delicious.
Frozen, I stopped breathing.
– Mine, – the mafioso whispered.
A second later, his lips cover mine. The mafia man's lips were soft and so hot. Releasing my hands, Tom wrapped his arms around my waist. Suddenly, a plan is born in my head. Lowering my hand to the man's neck, I bit his lower lip and pulled him towards me. Tom growled and bit harder into my lips, responding with renewed vigor. Taking advantage of the moment, I hit the man in the groin with my knee. With a cry, Hiddleston let go of me and grabbed the most valuable thing.
– This is for you for yesterday! Freak. And next time you'll know how to pin me to the wall, – I growled, stepping aside.
Before I could get to the chair, I was knocked down. Tom pinned me to the floor and hung over me. Clenching my hands into fists, I punched Hiddleston in the face. Growling, the mobster tried to grab my hands and pin them to the floor. Kicking the man's leg, I tried to crawl away, taking off my shoes. But the mobster grabbed my leg and pulled me towards him. Turning around, I tried to punch Tom in the face again.
– Fuck off! – I growled.
I kneed the mobster in the stomach and got to my feet. Hiddleston followed.
– Do you want to fight?! Well, come on. Hit me! Avenge the kidnapping, – the man grinned, openly provoking me.
– You bastard! – I snarled and rushed at the mobster, who was standing with open arms in front of me.
Forgetting that I was wearing a dress, I began to kick, too, as the dress allowed. Hiddleston also hit, but not hard. As if feeling sorry for me. Angered by this even more, I began to hit with full force. After missing one punch to the stomach that knocked all the air out of my lungs, I grimaced. Staggering, I clutched my stomach and almost fell to the floor.
– Kristina…
Before the frozen Tom could finish, I rushed at the man, knocking him to the floor. Hanging from above, I stopped, looking straight into the eyes of the mafia. The man was handsome. Smooth nose, pale face, sharp cheekbones and thin lips. Leaning very close, I looked into the man's eyes.
– Tom, – I whispered, and Hiddleston twitched visibly, his pale eyes darkened. – I warned you.
A second later, the man hugs me around the waist, smiling contentedly.
– Do that again and I'll break your arms, – I whispered, barely touching the man's lips.
– You…
I didn't let the mafia finish. Pushing the man away, I got up from the floor. I went to the shoes and put them on.
– I will leave for a week, and then I will come to visit you again. After all, we need to get to know each other better before the wedding, – the mafia man said calmly, getting up. – My future wife.
Without answering, I left the room. It turned out to be cooler in the hallway and it was only now that I realized how my cheeks were burning. When I went downstairs, I found my father in the living room, sitting on the couch and reading something on his laptop. My father looked at me and smiled.
– I see the conversation went... great.
– Of course, – I snorted, sitting down in an armchair.
– Mr. Hamilton, thank you for your hospitality, – Tom said.
The father did not answer anything and only grinned, following the mafia with his eyes.
– I hate it, – I hissed, clenching my hands into fists.
