Chapter 4

Settings
When I woke up, my whole body felt numb. I fell asleep in my clothes, and even in a not very comfortable position. Getting out of bed, I decided to put myself in order. After that, I put on a bathrobe and decided to order breakfast in the room. After making a phone call and ordering, I sat on the bed, waiting for my food. Twenty minutes later, there was a knock on the door. When I opened it, I saw a maid with a cart and my food. Licking my lips hungrily, I thanked the woman and went to breakfast. Taking out my phone, I decided to order clothes. I can't sit in jeans and a sweater all week, can I? For the next half day, I picked out things for myself in various online stores. It was already three o'clock in the afternoon when I decided to get out of bed and take a little walk around the room, look around. My room consisted of: a spacious living room, a large bedroom with a separate wardrobe and a separate large bathroom. There was also another room in the room, equipped as an office. Sitting comfortably on the sofa in the living room, I turned on the TV and, calling the hotel's internal phone, asked for a late lunch to be brought to my room. The rest of the day was boring, even very boring. In the evening, most of my purchases were delivered to me. After trying on almost all the things, I put them in the closet in the dressing room. After dinner, I took my laptop out of the briefcase I had brought with me and sat on the upholstered sofa in the living room. I always kept my bag ready. There was everything you needed. Documents, several passports, a driver's license, weapons, several knives, a spare phone and a laptop with important information for me, as well as a first aid kit. After working on my laptop for a while, I put it aside. Suddenly the phone rang. – Hello? – Well, how are you doing, sister? – It's terrible. I'm very bored, I'm not used to spending so much time in four walls! – I grimaced, looking at the clock on the table. – You'll get used to where you're going. The whole city is on fire here. Everyone is looking for you. So stay in the room and don't try to lean out! There's nothing wrong with your apartment, I've settled all the issues with the police and the neighbors, so you don't have to worry. – Okay, I'm not stupid, – I smiled. – Thank you, Alex. – You'll have to! – I will, – I smiled, challenging him. Well, it's going to be a boring week.

The next three days were like two drops of water similar to the previous ones. The only thing I started doing was exercising and stretching in the morning and evening so as not to lose my shape. On the fifth day, I couldn't help myself and decided to go downstairs to the first floor of the hotel, where there was a restaurant and a bar at the same time. Evening after all. I put on a light black dress, combed my hair and left it loose. Make-up, and shoes in the color of the dress with low heels. After going downstairs, I entered the restaurant and sat down at a table that stood not far from the stand with fresh flowers. The waiter came up to me and I made my order. Half an hour later, my food was brought to me. Suddenly, a waiter came up to me. – Miss, you have a compliment from the man at that table, – the waiter said, smiling, putting an expensive bottle of wine on the table. Turning in the direction the waiter pointed out to me, I grinned. A few tables away from me, a handsome red-haired man was sitting and smiling. Turning away, I continued to eat dinner. That's all I need right now. I promised Alexander that there would be no more adventures. Suddenly, someone stopped by my desk. – May I ask your name? When I looked up, I saw that red-haired man who had given me a bottle of wine. – Christina, – I smiled. – What about you? – Donal Gleeson, – the man smiled broadly, showing snow–white teeth. – May I join you? – Well, take a chance, – I grinned, examining the man. – Lovely, – Donal said softly, sitting down at the table. Taking a bottle of wine, the man filled two glasses. – Today is a great evening, because I was lucky and I met you, let's have a drink, – Donal smiled somehow predatory, looking me straight in the eyes. – Come on, – I agreed, and for some reason some kind of animal fear woke up inside me. The green eyes studied me intently, as if penetrating under my skin. And there was something bloodthirsty in the smile. Taking a glass, I took a small sip of the red drink and closed my eyes. Strong wine. It's worth being careful and keeping your mind clear. – Did you like it? This is my favorite, – Donal smiled. – Delicious, but strong, – I retorted. – And what does one beautiful girl do on a night like this? – I'm resting. And you? – I came for work. – And who do you work for? – A doctor. A surgeon. I came from Ireland for a week–long practice exchange with my English colleagues, – Donal smiled, taking another sip from his glass. – And who do you work for? – Sales manager, – I lied easily. – Business trip. Just like you. – It must be a very stressful job. – But it's no harder than a surgeon's job, – I smiled. Strangely, the man attracted me and repelled me at the same time with something inexplicable. Blaming everything on the wine, I continued to have dinner. We had a lot in common, so we sat in the restaurant with Donal for a good two hours. During all this time, I drank only one glass of wine, despite all the persuasions of the doctor, who drank the remaining contents of the bottle. – It was nice talking to you, but I have to go to my room, – I smiled, – It's late. – Yes, I think so, – the man smiled, getting up from the table. Donal paid for the dinner, despite all my attempts to prevent it. I walked steadily, but my head was a little dizzy. Surprisingly, the doctor also walked almost smoothly. Apparently Gleason is still a "tough nut to crack." We called the elevator, and entered it a few minutes later. – Which one do you like? – looking carefully at the buttons, the surgeon asked. – On the tenth, – I smiled, from the comicality of the whole situation. – Oh! I'm on my tenth too! Donal frowned comically. Pressing the button, the man smiled and took a step towards me. A second later, Donal stumbles, falling right on top of me. Grabbing the man by the shoulders, I held us upright. The surgeon's face was very close. Unacceptably close. I looked into the bright green eyes and laughed out loud. Pushing the man against the wall, I wiped away the tears. – You have to go to work tomorrow! And you can barely stand on your feet! – It's okay, – Donal smiled, loosening the tie around his neck and looking at me predatorily. Suddenly the elevator doors opened and we got out. It was cooler in the hallway than in the stuffy elevator, which sobered me up a bit. I need to be careful, my sixth sense screamed. Now was absolutely the wrong time to relax. – What's your number, I'll take you there, – the doctor smiled. Without answering anything, I went to the right door. Stopping at my room, I turned around and looked into the man's green eyes. – It was nice to meet you, Donal. Thank you for a wonderful evening, – I smiled. – Thank you, – the man smiled. Turning around, I was about to open my doors when I was abruptly turned back and pressed against the wall. Banging my head against the wall, I looked at the surgeon with incomprehension. The Doctor was two heads taller than me and loomed dangerously over me. Approaching my face, the man looked seriously into my eyes and covered mine with his lips. Gasping with indignation and surprise, I froze. Taking advantage of this, the man pressed me to him, deepening the kiss. Running my hand through the man's hair, I squeezed it slightly. From which the surgeon growled hollowly, biting my lower lip. – D-donal, – I whispered, pulling away. – Good night, – the man smiled and, kissing the change in the corner of his lips, let go. I quickly entered my room and tried to catch my breath. What was that just now?! I took a quick contrast shower and went to bed.

After watching the girl go, Donal took out his phone and dialed the desired number. Slowly turning around, the killer walked in the direction of his room. The guys did a good job and he found the girl first, which made him more drunk than wine. – You'll have her tomorrow, Hiddleston. – Great, Gleason. I didn't doubt you.
