Mobiustown

In the city of Mobiustown, all the people began to run in crowds to shops and buy up. We bought new toys for Christmas trees, packaging, food, etc. Some ticket offices were even busy and delayed. Every family went shopping. Mainly because the mayor issued a new decree. This year everyone should spend money and buy themselves twice as much of everything related to the New Year. Of course, no one even thought that this might have been specially invented to make more money for nothing. The mayor seems to have plenty of money, but he still wants even more. Although where else could he go? After all, he should spend them not on himself, but for the benefit of the residents of his city. But the mayor doesn't care. He was only concerned about money and how he could earn even more, although he already had enough of it. And most often he spent it on himself and for his own benefit. Sometimes he hired builders to build himself a large pool of gold, a large bio-dome with heat inside, liquid chocolate instead of water in the pool. Sometimes he buys himself a bunch of new mobile phones, laptops and Internet networks, although he could only buy one and thatβs it. And sometimes he just spent money on nonsense that he didnβt need at all. For example, he once bought himself a radio, but did not understand why he needed a radio when he had had a TV for a long time?
There was also a very poor, but kind and friendly family in the city who could not buy new garlands, Christmas trees and toys for the holiday. Because, unfortunately, they didnβt have enough money; they only bought food. Nevertheless, even they loved the New Year, but they celebrated it differently from everyone else. No trees, no gifts, no decorations and no tinsel. Even without all this they were happy. The family consisted of rabbits and one pet Chao named Cheese. The rest of the family were named Ice, Vanilla and Cream. The father of the family, named Ice, loved his wife and daughter very much, just as Vanilla herself loved her daughter and husband. The daughter played and talked with her parents every day in turn. That is, first one day with my father, and the next with my mother. And if the parents were busy, then Cream played with Cheese.
One day, a father and daughter from this same family went to the store and bought home only a couple of bags of tangerines, carrot juice, cranberry pie and frozen fish. Then they returned home and whispered jokingly about everyone in their city, who for some reason was running around like squirrels and were too carried away by the approaching holiday. Not like them. On the way, Cream met Charmy the bee, Benny the brown hedgehog and Tails the young fox. They invited the rabbit to go and look for mistletoe for their families. Ice allowed Cream to go with the boys so she could possibly bring her mistletoe to their family.
Tails, Cream, Benny and Charmy decided to climb high into the mountains, since according to rumors the freshest mistletoe grows there. At first, Cream was against it and dissuaded the boys, since their parents forbid them to go up there, because there lives an evil and hungry naga hermit who eats children and anyone who dares to go up to him. Therefore, it is better not to go there. However, Charmy convinces Cream that she has nothing to fear. They just quickly, there and back very quickly. Therefore, there is no need to be afraid. Having decided on that, they went up the mountain. It was difficult to climb, but they did not give up and slowly walked up the mountain using skis.
β Are you sure that the freshest mistletoe grows on the highest mountain? β asks the rabbit.
β Certainly. My mother told me about this. She knows a lot about mistletoe. β Benny answers.
β Do you think we will find her?
β Of course! - Charmy answers.
β The main thing is to act quickly and not get caught by Scourge himself! β Benny says and then Tails covered his mouth.
β Quiet! Have you forgotten that we are not allowed to say this name out loud? The mayor has long forbidden everyone to say the name of this monster.
β Sorry! I forget about this all the time.
They climbed even higher and found a bush with mistletoe growing on it. They decided to rip it off as much as possible in stock. Cream picked just one for her mom and dad, and then decided to look around. Luckily, there was no one nearby besides the four of them. Except that she was afraid that the same Scourge that Benny had accidentally mentioned out loud might be nearby and they wouldnβt have time to escape from him.
Suddenly, a red fox crawled out from behind one of the rocks, apparently weak and clearly suffering. The children saw her and ran up to help.
β Auntie, are you feeling bad? What's wrong with you? What are you doing here?
β Please help me! β the fox moaned. β It's all Scourge! He wanted to eat me.
The children tried to help her get up, and the fox immediately grabbed them, took out a rope and tied them together. Then she laughed evilly and pushed with her right foot, causing them to fall and slide down. While they were descending, rolling like a log, they rolled over a pile of snow into a large snowball. The fox laughed and went upstairs. She walked through the large door into the cave and headed to a kind of kitchen, where she began to prepare a banana peel pie. Scourge himself came down to her. It was a hedgehog snake. He was twice as tall as the fox.
β Fiona, who was there near the mistletoe?
β Well what a baby! As always, I got up from the city. β the fox explained.
β Mobiustown? Those nasty Mobians! They still won't leave me alone! Do you want to get to know me better? Have a wonderful time with Scourge? Well! Do they want me? They'll get me. β said the snake and smiled sarcastically.
β O! Have you come up with a new hooligan trick? β Fiona asked.
β Naturally! β Scourge answers and picks up a gray robe. He began to transform. The bones, like an elongated stick, dodged and with them the length of the arms decreased. Afterwards, Scourge himself lay down slightly and brought his tail closer. Wearing a robe that was long to his feet, he hid his tail under the robe itself and became almost like the rest of the Mobians with their height. He then takes out a hat with a purple scorpion mask and places it on his head. Before that, he took an onion and ate it with a delicious appetite, like an apple. β Besides, weβll also have to go down to the store and steal some food from there. Otherwise our supplies are running out. Will you come down with me?
β Well, of course! I also want to misbehave. β says the fox and takes out a bunch of fake letters with envelopes. β I want to give everyone a surprise at the post office and at the same time read other peopleβs letters and laugh at them. Maybe I'll even fix it a little here and there.
β Fine. When you get ready and come down, Iβll be waiting for you near the post office.
Scourge then left his cave and crawled down on his tail.
And at that time the children themselves, in a snowy circle, descended from the mountain and crashed into the house of Sonic and Shadow. Both hedgehogs came out of the house and helped the children dig themselves out, and then untied them.
β What's happened? Have you had a bad slide down a hill? β Sonic asked jokingly.
β No. It's all Scourge! - Benny answered.
Everyone in the city immediately stopped at what they heard and turned to Sonic and Shadow's house, where they heard the name Naga. Cars crashed into poles and the music was stopped by the effects of a record player stopping.
Everyone came to the children, distracted from business. Then the mayor himself came. It was Knuckles.
β What is it here? Who dared say Scourge's name out loud?
Everyone immediately pointed their fingers at the children at the same time. The mayor approached them and asked:
β Why did you say out loud a name that I forbade to be mentioned? Explain, or your parents will pay such a fine that they will never earn so much in life.
β It's not our fault. We simply answered why we came down here in a snow globe. β Cream explained.
β We were just going up the mountain to get you all some mistletoe. β says Charmy.
β So this is how it is? β the mayor asked and took out his Mobiustown book. He opened it to the right page and read one line. β Look! The book of Mobiustown says: Every Mobian who has lived or will live knows that we should all treasure the New Year very much. Did you really seriously climb the Deathβs Head and awaken the only creature in billions of kilometers that hates the New Year?
β We havenβt seen Scourge! We only saw some fox who asked for help and talked about him. Then she tied us up and pushed us off the mountain. β the children said at the same time.
β So you havenβt seen Scourge? β the echidna asked suspiciously.
β No no no! We didn't see any naga! β Tails explained.
β So you admit that the chatter about Scourge is nonsense? β asked the mayor.
β Yes, that is, no, that is. It is hard to explain. We heard about him from most Mobians, but we ourselves never really saw him live. β said Benny.
β Okay, better go home to your parents, and weβll sort this out ourselves. β the mayor ordered and left. Following him, everyone else dispersed.
They decided to forget about it, which the children told everyone here. They didnβt even suspect that Scourge himself was already coming down to their city from the mountain and had already gone hunting. At first this naga did small dirty tricks. He found the mayor himself and quietly shot stones into his cheek from a slingshot. And he himself walked among the crowd of city residents and tried not to stand out. When an anthropomorphic skunk wanted to greet him, Scourge took off his mask and exhaled green smoke from his mouth into his face, which was the stinking smell of onions and garlic. The skunk turned up his nose at the smell and fainted. Naga, grinning imperceptibly, put the mask back on and walked away, pretending that he had nothing to do with it.
