Chapter 11: The Mystery of the Mutant Toys
November 24, 2023 at 6:42 AM
The mutant toys not only helped stitch up Shadow's anus, but also inserted Silver's lost arm back into the hole under his shoulder, after which he felt it again and could move it and even spin it three hundred and sixty degrees counterclockwise.
— Thank you guys. — he thanked them.
— Now you too help us! — asked Gerald. — The tape that Oscar carried with him yesterday ran away with him when Stephanie wanted to... Kill him. But then he returned without it. The tape is probably somewhere on the first floor, but we are afraid to go down there. The angry dog Hurricane might be waiting for us there, and even Oscar’s parents might be there, either in the kitchen or in the hallway in front of the TV.
Suddenly the mutant toys heard someone’s steps and suddenly hid under the bed.
— Hey, hey, what's the matter? — Shadow didn’t understand where they all hid.
— Oscar is back! Hurry up and hide! — the scientist answers and also hides under the bed behind the others.
— Oscar, you forgot to close the door! — mom’s voice was heard from below.
— Not now, mom, I'm busy! — Oscar's voice can be heard.
Shadow and Silver could not think of anything other than to hide under a checkered plastic box, as if in a cage. Oscar ran into the room with a box in his hands and closed the door tightly behind him so that no one would enter him.
— Delivered! Finally delivered! — the boy almost rejoiced, putting the box on the table and unpacking it with a bunch of foam, took out a large and red rocket for fireworks. Placing it on the table, he read the warning on the side. — Attention! The rocket is explosive. Be careful, run it exclusively on the street, thirty meters away from yourself and others, and under no circumstances give it to children under twelve years of age. Cool! — he thought and reached into his pockets, but remembered that he no longer had the tape in his pockets. — Damb! Where did I sow it?
After thinking for a while, he remembered that he had left it somewhere on the first floor and left the room. Silver and Shadow took a closer look at the rocket that he left on the table. Curiosity took over and they came out of hiding and went to the table, climbing up. When they got up on the table, they could see the rocket. In size, it was twice as tall as Silver himself, and in shape it resembled a Soviet rocket, on which Yuri Gagarin himself once took off.
— What does he need this rocket for? — Silver thought out loud.
— Your ears must have failed? He himself read the warning there, it is explosive. He probably wants to blow up one of us. Or worse. He wants to blow up his whole house. — suggested Shadow.
Oscar silently returned to the room at that moment with tape in his hands and closed the door behind him again. Shadow managed to think in time and hid behind the delivery box, because he was closer to it, and Silver could only stand still and freeze.
— Why do I always throw it everywhere? — the boy scolded himself and saw Silver next to the rocket. — A! Now I’ll launch you into a steep orbit. — he says to the white hedgehog, taking it in his hands along with the rocket, he was just preparing to tie them to each other with tape. As luck would have it, a thunderstorm began outside the window, rain poured down and thunder roared. Oscar, indignant at such an unexpected turn, went to the window. — Oh, man! — he swore and hit his head on the glass of the window, leaving a crack in the window, and upon impact, he received a concussion and, with a short cry of pain, fell to the floor, losing consciousness. — I want to ride a pony...
— Oscar! — Shadow said worriedly, holding his forehead with his palm.
Meanwhile, Andrew, Stephanie and Sonic were still communicating when suddenly it came to blue.
— Wait, who's watching Oscar's room? — after that, Stephanie rushed to the keyhole with a guilty face. The girl only saw that the door was closed, and there was no one in the corridor. Walking out into the corridor, she heard Hurricane barking from the first floor.
— Looks like we missed out on Oscar. He's already home.
— This is bad. I need to get into his room and save my friends before he blows them up. — Sonic said and thought.
— First, let's try to find out what he is doing. — Grandfather said seriously, after which he went to his grandson’s room and listened. Realizing that there was complete silence there, he quietly opened the door and looked inside.
The room was in the usual chaos, and Oscar himself was lying on the floor. The rocket and Silver were in their hands, except for the tape that was lying nearby on the floor. Apparently he hit his head on the window, judging by the cracks, lost consciousness and fell asleep. He is still sleeping soundly, which means you can sneak up to him for now, which is what grandfather did. Quietly approaching the boy, he lightly moved the fingers of the hand in which he was holding Silver and picked him up.
— Where is Shadow?
— Andrew, it's on the table over there! — Sonic whispered in his ear.
Silver was even surprised to see that Sonic was not pretending not to be alive in front of his grandfather and was even talking to him. Shadow was indeed on the table. He, too, at first froze and fell, but when he saw that Sonic was on the same page with him and was even whispering in his ear, he immediately came to life again, because why hide from him the fact that they are alive, since he already knows everything. Having come to life and descending to the floor, he picks up the tape and rolls it under the bed to the mutant toys, after which he jumps into the palm of Andrew’s other hand.
— Why did you put the tape under the bed? — he asked him, and he whispered back.
— Toys live there and hide from him. They desperately needed the tape.
After listening to him, they quietly left the room, and Oscar remained lying on the floor and did not even think about getting up. He turned over on his side and clutched the rocket to his chest like a favorite toy. At that time, under the bed, Gerald picked up the same scotch tape that Shadow had rolled for them. Toy mutants brought two toy disabled people. The first patient was Donkey Kong, to whom his right arm was first attached to the side, and then Gerald began to wrap it with tape. After the repair, the gorilla again felt her own hand and was able to move it, and then they began to glue her other hand. Donki smiled and couldn’t be happier.
— Damn you, Oscar, for doing this to me. Now, if only I could rip his hands off for this!... — Ginger wanted to curse until Gerald calmed her down:
— Hush hush! He's still a child. Also spoiled. And it's all his parents' fault. — the professor explained and by that time had begun to tape her hands with tape.
— Gerald, as far as I remember, you told these hedgehogs that you wanted to be in the arms of Oscar’s father again. — the doll with the head of Mario spoke. — Are you sure you want this?
— Yes, buddy... I want to see my former owner. I still can't believe that he became like this... He used to always be with me. Even as he grew older, Dennis sometimes played with me. I was happy. But one day... — Robotnik fell silent, as it was hard for him to talk about it.
— What happened then? — Donkey Kong asked worriedly.
— Then my master’s wife was cleaning the room and found me. Dennis always hid me because she didn't like that he was still playing with the toy. For Danny, I was the most valuable toy, because Andrew created me... So, Karen then found me and was angry that her husband still kept his childhood toy. She decided to give me to Oscar...
— I feel for you. — Ginger said, placing her hand on the scientist’s shoulder. Then she had an idea. — I know this will sound strange, but maybe you can try turning to your creator for help?
— Are you sure? We shouldn't be seen by people. — the professor strongly doubted this idea.
— You yourself saw how he communicated with the blue hedgehog. If Andrew had wanted to, he would have spilled the beans long ago. And besides, none of us noticed that he was drunk, so he begins to come to his senses. — the doll assured, and all the other mutant toys nodded in response, confirming her words.
— Who knows... Maybe you're right...
By that time, Gerald had already wrapped the doll’s second hand with tape. Both toys were partially repaired, all that remained was to figure out how Gerald would end up in Danny's hands again? Maybe Andrew will help them, since he entered the room and helped Shadow and Silver, who did not have time to hide with them. All that remains is to leave the room for now. Mitten, instead of a jack-in-the-box, jumped up and grabbed the door handle, pulling it to open the door. Jennifer poked her head out slightly first, and Hurricane himself stood on the way, who noticed how the door to Oscar's room opened and a living doll stuck out and ran to them, barking. The mutant toys managed to close the door at the last moment, and the dog only slightly crashed its muzzle into the door, trying to at least knock it out during the run. The angry dog began to scratch the door and bark loudly through the crack under the door. He even hoped to at least wake up the young master inside the room, but the door was so tight that it muffled any scream.
— Hurricane, ugh... — Oscar said through his sleep and turned over to the other side, also lying on the floor.
But Hurricane doesn’t give up and continues to bark that Dennis and Karen would have gone upstairs long ago and yelled at their dog. At that moment, Andrew himself came out of Stephanie’s room and before he could speak, the dog immediately became frightened of the old man as soon as he saw him.
— Hurricane, ugh! Why the Devil are you making a noise here??? — the old man hissed at the dog, and he even cried out the last word, showing the dog himself.
Making sad squeals, the dog ran up the stairs and went down to the first floor. Although the door invited all sounds, the squeals of the dog could be heard. Realizing that Hurricane was not nearby, the toys opened the door slightly and saw Dennis's father walking towards the stairs.
— Andrew! Andrew! — Gerald tried to call, but grandfather didn’t hear him. Realizing that the creator did not hear him, the scientist decided to first find Sonic, Shadow and Silver. It was too risky to go down the stairs because Oscar's parents might see him. Ginger and Jennifer decided to look for their mistress and headed to her room. Looking carefully, they saw the girl sitting on the bed and communicating with three hedgehogs.
— Gerald, come here! — Jennifer called and the professor approached the dolls and began to try to attract the girl’s attention. — Stephanie!
The girl heard someone's voice and turned to the door to find out who it was. Noticing her dolls, she first stared at them with great surprise, and then, with a wide smile on her face, ran up to them and took them in her arms.
— Jennifer, Ginger! Are you okay! — Stephanie noticed Robotnik standing on the threshold. Taking it in her hands, she returned to bed and began looking at her dolls. — I was so worried about you. What did that nasty boy do to you?
— You know what happened to me, he performed “surgery” on Jennifer’s brain. Instead of her head, she had Link's head. — Ginger said and Stephanie was horrified. She knew about her brother's cruelty, but every time his hooliganism sent shivers down her spine. — Say thank you to Shadow! If he hadn't gotten us some scotch tape, we would have continued to be broken.
Jennifer turned to Shadow and winked at him flirtatiously as a thank you. Shadow shuddered at this. Muttering “You’re welcome” through his teeth, he turned away. Sonic and Silver giggled, and Gerald looked at them, not understanding what was happening.
— Do not pay attention! He's just a little gloomy here. — Sonic answered.
— You could say he’s already busy. Somebody. — Silver did not stop giggling.
— Shut up, both of you! — said the black-scarlet through his teeth.
— I don’t know about you, but I want to kill this hooligan already. — said Gerald, punching his right hand into his left palm out of anger.
— No no. We shouldn't kill anyone. This is not customary for us and we are not capable of this. People themselves are sometimes capable of doing something to us. For example, breaking it accidentally or on purpose. Besides, killing is bad. — said Silver
— What should we do with him then? Do we need to somehow teach this scoundrel a lesson? — asked Jennifer.
Sonic immediately thought about it, changed his views several times at Stephanie, the returning Andrew, as well as at all the toys who acted alive in front of them.
— Wait a minute! I have a plan. But I'm afraid on the other hand he looks stupid and you won't agree. — he said.
— We agree to anything, as long as he stops breaking us and blowing us up. — said the spider-like piece of iron in Mario's voice using his head.
— Okay, everyone come here! — Sonic asks and sits on his knees. Grandfather and granddaughter sit next to each other to listen carefully, and the rest of the toys stand next to him in a circle. — So then. First, we're going to break a few rules... For toys, I mean. But if everything works out, it will save not only you and me, but absolutely everyone.
