«Teen Wolf». Theodore (Theo) Raeken. Trust (#101)

Settings
Notes:
Imagine that you were Theo Raken's girlfriend. *** You trusted Theo. You loved Theo and you were sure that Theo loved you back. He was always with you, but you didn't see any of his friends in your general environment, as if he was alone all the time. Theo was trying to protect you in his own way, and to tell the truth, he was doing it. But it was very strange that you never met Theo's friends, because you and he spent a lot of time together. I must say, you knew that Theo had childhood friends, Scott and Stiles, but you never met them. Theo couldn't (or didn't want to) to introduce them to you, arguing that he himself has a lot to do and Scott and Stiles are also busy because they study hard. Then you thought that maybe Scott, Stiles and Theo aren't friends now because childhood is over and Theo left Bacon Hills very early. * Theo looked up as he heard footsteps approaching. Shock and fear were reflected in his eyes when you entered Dr. Deaton's veterinary clinic. "No..." he shook his head and you could have sworn that you saw tears standing in his eyes. He started to move towards you, but two guys held him in place. You froze, looking at Theo, and then, hearing footsteps behind you, turned around. "Hi," said the tall brown-eyed guy, "I'm Scott," he jerked his head towards the door, inviting you to pass on. *** "What are you going to do with it?" You asked, looking alternately at Scott and Stiles. You've already met them after Scott took you to the vet's room. The ones left in the room with Theo, as it turned out, were called Derek and Liam. They looked at each other. And you didn't like their looks. "He killed Scott," Stiles began. "No, you didn't understand, he LITERALLY killed Scott," when he saw that you opened your mouth to say something, he interrupted you, "and Scott's mom, Melissa, was able to bring him back to life." "Are you saying that Scott is resurrected?" You looked first at Stiles and then directly at Scott, then frowned in confusion when they both nodded at you. Scott shrugged his shoulders. "It turns out that it is," Scott smiled. "What kind of world have I entered..." you muttered, frowning slightly. "Okay, but Theo told me that you, Stiles, and Theo are childhood best friends," you looked at Scott. "It's true, the three of us were best friends when we were kids," Scott smiled and nodded again, "but Theo left town and we didn't see him again until this year. "And when you saw him after all these years, did he kill you?" You asked Scott, frowning. Scott nodded. "He wanted to become an Alpha. He needed members of my pack because there are many unique supernatural creatures in it," Scott said. "I'm a werewolf," he explained. You frowned harder and nodded slowly. "Are you a werewolf?" You repeated, tilting your head to the side. Scott nodded again. "I am a werewolf and a True Alpha, that is, I achieved my power myself, and did not take it away from someone else. And almost everyone in my pack has supernatural abilities. The only one who doesn't have supernatural powers in my pack is Stiles," Scott smiled softly. Stiles nodded, confirming his best friend's words. "I have something better than this," Stiles took out a bat and smiled slightly. *** Theo has never involved you in his business. He didn't tell you what he did to Scott and his pack, he didn't tell you he tried to kill Scott. He didn't tell you anything that would scare you away from him. After talking to Scott and Stiles, you've been thinking a lot. You thought a lot about Theo's behavior and all his strange or unusual habits, actions and words. They slipped here and there anyway: he'll freeze for a couple of moments and he won't hear you until you call him louder or touch his shoulder. Here he is startled by an unexpected noise. He was open to you, but he seemed more lost in his own thoughts. You've been trying to figure out what's going on and figure out all this new information. *** The next time you met with Scott and Stiles was at Scott's house to get a better understanding of what was going on. "Theo works with the Dread Doctors, scientists who conduct experiments on humans. They turn people into a mix of different species, like a werewolf and a nagual, a jaguar werewolf or a werewolf and a scorpion," Scott said. "What a horror," you muttered. Scott looked at you and smiled faintly. "Horror is not the right word," Stiles interjected. "It's a nightmare. It's creepy. A disaster," Stiles waved his hands, showing the extent of the disaster. "We get it, Stiles," Scott said softly, putting his hand on his best friend's shoulder. "You're not kidding, are you?" you sighed heavily. Scott shook his head. You looked from one to the other. "What are you going to do with it?" You asked. Scott shrugged his shoulders. "He killed Scott and almost took away his power," Stiles interjected. "Scott, of course, is very kind and forgiving, but I doubt that Theo has improved in a few days." "We are not even sure that he will not be able to get out of the camera. You know, werewolf, claws, all that," Scott added. You nodded your head. "Is that why you locked him in a cell, not even knowing if he would be able to get out of there or not?" you specified. Scott and Stiles exchanged glances and nodded. "I need to talk to him," you said. "He's at the police station now. Are you sure about this? After what you found out?" Stiles asked. When you nodded, Scott nodded too. "Okay, if you're sure," Scott said. *** As soon as you entered the police station and went to the cell where Theo was sitting, he got up from the bench and went to the bars. "Did you want to kill your childhood friend?" You asked softly, looking into his eyes. Theo looked away. "Everything is not what it looks like," he whispered. "So tell me," you suggested softly. "I needed strength. I wanted a pack. I wanted to feel strong for once in my life, to feel that someone needed me," Theo whispered, twisting his lips. "But you are needed," you looked at him. "And don't even think about telling me that it's not true," you added, raising your hand to stop Theo, who was about to say something. "I need you." "Do you need me?" Theo whispered, looking at you. "Of course," you whispered. "You don't need to prove yourself to anyone," you reached through the bars and squeezed Theo's hand. Theo was silent for a few seconds. "I really killed Scott. Or rather, not me, but Liam, Scott's beta," he admitted. "And if Liam killed Scott, then Scott's power has passed to him. I wanted to kill Liam and gain the power of a True Alpha." You blinked. "It sounds complicated," you said. "It wouldn't have worked any other way," Theo whispered back, slightly shrugging his shoulders. "But I couldn't do it anyway." "Theo, you don't need the power to be needed by someone. You're not alone. I was and will be with you. Actually, I'm here for you right now," you whispered, squeezing his hand again. Theo smiled faintly, but then shook his head. "They will never trust me. Damn, I don't have anyone but you!" He whispered. "Scott and Stiles trusted you when you met them for the first time in years," you said. "You were their friend, and then you tried to kill Scott, of course they won't trust you after that, but did you think otherwise?" You shook your head, amazed at him. "You need to redeem yourself to Scott if you want to win his trust back. But if you need me, I'll be here for you every step of the way, whatever you decide, okay?" Theo nodded slightly. "Yes. Thank you," he said softly, a faint smile sliding across his lips as he squeezed your hand harder. You nodded silently in response, stroking his fingers with your own. It was obviously calming for Theo. He breathed more freely and his eyes flashed yellow for a moment. You immediately looked more closely into his eyes, it was unusual and beautiful, you have not seen this before. Theo noticed it instantly, blinked and looked at you only when his eyes returned to their normal color. "I'm sorry," Theo muttered, lowering his eyes. You shook your head, squeezing his hand gently. "It looks beautiful," you said softly. "Are you... are you not scared?" Theo stammered. You shook your head, smiling at him tenderly. You noticed that Theo breathed a sigh of relief, squeezing your hand and unconsciously copying your movements, lightly stroking your fingers. "Thank you… I do not know what I would do if I scared you away," Theo whispered in response to your tacit acceptance. "Everything will be fine," you told him quietly, "I'm here. And I'm staying here. We'll get through this." Theo nodded his head slightly. "I believe you," he whispered, smiling faintly. "We'll get through this," he repeated your words. His faith was all you needed.
