«Teen Wolf». Isaac Lahey. Court (#26)

Settings
Notes:
If Isaac had been asked earlier what were the best years in his life, he would have named all the time until his mom's death.   When his father locked little Isaac in the refrigerator in the basement, he did not understand why his father treated him like that? What did he do wrong? The boy tried not to give his father a reason to lock him up, and when his father asked about his grades at school (and Isaac didn't have the best ones), he tried to lie, but they quickly revealed him, and as punishment they left him sitting in the refrigerator for several hours longer than usual. When Isaac grew up and began to study in the tenth grade, Lahey Sr. continued what he had started in the boy's childhood: he beat the dishes, shouted at his son, accused him of all mortal sins and beat him.   Previously, Isaac was an open, often smiling, joyful child, with a good, even, perhaps, the best, as he himself believed, family, but after his older brother died, and some time after that his mother fell ill and also died, his problems with his father began.   At the funeral, they were together: little Isaac, crying, clung to his father, and he only stroked his head, calming him. But the day after the funeral, everything changed forever...   "She died because of you! You are to blame for this!" the drunk father shouted at the boy, and he cowered in the corner, dreaming of becoming as small as possible. The man took an empty glass bottle and threw it towards his son. The glass product hit the wall and shattered into small and large fragments. "It's your fault, you drove her with your antics and disobedience!" Lahey Sr. growled, approaching his son and bending over him. Isaac closed his eyes, hiding his head a little in a large and soft sweater. This behavior of the boy enraged the drunk man. With a short but angry growl, he slapped the fair-haired man in the face.   Isaac's head jerked to the side and met the wall. He was too stunned by his father's behavior to do or say anything in his defense. It was this that untied his father's hands.   The next day, he took out a big old refrigerator from somewhere…   ***   "It's all because of you!" a man shouted, dragging a sixteen-year-old boy into the basement to punish him for another offense. Isaac felt like a helpless rag doll. He cried and tried to beg his father not to do it, but he only hit him hard and, opening the refrigerator, threw his son there and locked the door on a chain, which was now always either on the refrigerator or near it, before Isaac managed to hit the man. The younger Lahey was banging on the refrigerator door with all his might: "Dad! Let me out! Don't go away! Dad!" The guy heard the heavy front door to the basement slam and felt panic cover his head. He started gasping for air, because it seemed that he did not have enough air. "Dad!" he shouted, although he already knew for sure that Lahey Sr. had already gone too far and would not hear him. The young man had to go to school on Monday, but now he could not imagine how he would sit in class and listen to the teacher as if nothing had happened.   ***   But Lahey Sr. forced Isaac to sit in the freezer for two more days, after which he decided that it was inconvenient to drag a sixteen-year-old guy to the basement and decided to put the refrigerator in a locked room. The next day he did it. When Isaac went to school on the third school day of the week, since his father forced him to stay at home these days, he was told that a new girl came to their class at the beginning of the week, Y/N Y/L/N. Isaac nodded, but didn't think much of it. At the last lesson of the day, several children, including Y/N together with a neighbor on the desk, were called to the blackboard and asked to play a dialogue in pairs. The guys coped with the task and the teacher was happy to give everyone five. Just then the bell rang and the students began to get ready to go home. Isaac was going to, too, but he decided to take a longer walk down the street. The guy left the school and went in the opposite direction from his house. "Stop!" suddenly he heard behind him, "wait, wait!" Lahey slowed down and looked back. The new girl who had joined their class ran up to him. She stopped and couldn't catch her breath. "What's your name?" first of all, y/e/c asked, looking at the guy with interest. "I'm Isaac, Isaac Lahey," curly introduced himself. "And I'm Y/N Y/L/N," the girl smiled, holding out her hand to him. So their acquaintance began.   ***   After a while they became friends. The girl became friends with McCall and Stilinski.   ***   "You know," Y/N said thoughtfully, walking next to Isaac, "I've never seen your house…" "Why do you need to see him?" Lahey looked at Y/L/N with bewilderment. Y/E/C shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, but I think I should see it." Lahey shook his head, smiling a little. "Don't, Y/N, you won't be interested." It seemed strange to the girl, but she did not insist and jumped to another topic.   ***   The guy said goodbye to his girlfriend and went to his home. "Well, where have you been?" His father asked him from the doorway. "I was studying in the library," his son answered without batting an eye, at the same time taking off his shoes and taking off his jacket. The man approached Isaac and said: "Well, come into the kitchen then." Isaac looked at him in bewilderment, but went into the indicated room, and Lahey Sr., meanwhile, turned the key in the door twice to close it…   ***   "Well, tell me," said Lahey Sr., sitting down at the table opposite his son. Isaac was visibly nervous. "How is school?" the man continued, "maybe you have friends?" Curly looked down and shook his head. "No..." his voice sounded quiet, "I don't have any friends…" Isaac's father chuckled. "But I have other information," suddenly he took out photos from somewhere and showed Isaac. He turned pale. The photo showed Isaac and Y/N. "And now what do you say?" The young man was silent, wondering where his father could have got these photos. "Well?" losing patience, said the former coach of the swimming team. Lahey Jr. was still silent. The man is tired of it. With a short "You'll tell me everything anyway, puppy!" he jumped up from the table, quickly crossed the room, approaching his son, who jumped against the wall, and hit him, and then grabbed him so that he could resist less and dragged him into the room…   ***   Y/N was worried about a friend who had become a little more than just a friend for her and who had not appeared at school for the fourth day. Although his father called the class teacher and said that his son was ill and would not go to school yet, Y/N did not believe his words. A feeling of some vague anxiety squeezed the girl's heart, and she could not just dismiss it. Y/E/C tried to find out from the class teacher the address of the house of the Lahey family, but she had no right to disclose the addresses of the school's students and therefore refused the girl's request. Then Y/N decided to take a chance and (after lessons, after the teacher left), she asked the cleaner for a key under the pretext that she had forgotten her sports uniform in the office and penetrated into their classroom, where all the documents of their class were stored. I must say that there were no cameras at all in this school, so it was not difficult for the girl to pick up the necessary papers, which she then returned to her place.   ***   The next day, Friday, Isaac did not come to school again and Y/L/N decided to act. In one day, the girl managed to study all the documents that she took from school and in the morning, arriving before everyone else, put them back in their place. And after Y/L/N ran away from school. Before she found the right address, she had to ask for directions from passers-by, and those who asked why she was not at school now, lied that their class had canceled lessons today. Finally, she found the right house.   ***   The girl knocked on the door and waited. But when no one answered her a few minutes later, she became worried. Y/N tried the door handle and realized that it was locked. Because of this, Y/E/C walked around the whole house, looked into all the windows, but saw no one. Then she thought about breaking the lock, but she did not know how to do it and decided to go around the house again, maybe she would be lucky and some window remained open. The girl carefully examined the door and all the windows, but did not find any hidden loophole. She was almost desperate, but then an idea came to her. She decided to break the window. Y/L/N knew that she would face a fine for this, but she could not get rid of the thought that this was the right thing to do.

***

"What is it, Lord!" cursed Y/N, inspecting the house from the inside. When the girl was finally able to enter the house, she began to quietly call Isaac (well, you never know, maybe there is someone else there), but no one responded. The girl had already examined almost all the rooms and wanted to go to the exit, but suddenly she saw a room that she had not noticed before. When she got to the door of that room, she tried the handle, but the door was locked. Y/N cursed, wondering what to do next. Isaac's father could come back at any moment, and she still hadn't found a boyfriend. She looked at all the places where she could fit or where she could hide the key to the door, but found nothing. Y/L/N was almost desperate, but suddenly noticed some kind of shine in a hole in the floor. She approached it and put her hand in there. Feeling for something cold and metallic, she pulled out her hand, clenched into a fist, so that it would not fall out. When she opened her hand, there was a key in her palm. She smiled at her find and began to open the door.

***

As soon as Y/E/C entered the room, a huge, chain-girt refrigerator immediately caught her eye. Not a sound came from it. Y/H/C examined the whole room, but found nothing suspicious except the refrigerator. Then she approached him and began to examine him. "Isaac," Y\N called softly, "Isaac…" At first it was quiet, but then from the refrigerator came a muffled, pronounced in a trembling voice, "Open, please open!". Y/N's eyes widened. She first tried to break the lock, but could not. Then the girl started looking for the key to the lock. After a few minutes, her search was crowned with success, and she opened the lock with trembling hands. As soon as he hit the wooden floor, Y/L/N opened the refrigerator door. Isaac lay with his eyes closed and did not move. "It's okay," whispered Y/E/C, touching the guy's hair and stroking his head, "it's okay, Isaac, it's over," the girl lightly kissed him. Isaac's soft but long exhalation answered her.

***

The guys went to the Beacon Hills police and Lahey Jr. testified against his father. They also filmed beatings there, which, as Isaac said, did not stop during these days. A few hours later, Lahey Sr. drove up to the police station…

***

The girl and the guy managed to sue Isaac's father, or rather, the court succeeded: there was enough evidence, Jackson, who lived near the Lahey family home, agreed to testify against Mr. Lahey, and there were people at school who saw that Isaac constantly walks with terrible bruises.

***

Some time after these events, Isaac suggested that Y/N meet, to which she gladly agreed. Now the couple is doing well. They finished school, passed their exams and left the city.   ***   If now Isaac was asked what were the best years in his life, he would name one very, very best year - the one when he met Y/N.
