The Criminal Diaries: Chapter 36. When You're (Not) Outta Your Mind

Hello, my sweet estrellitas! We continue our dizzying journey through the world of my book “The Criminal Diaries” and are rapidly making our way to Chapter 36. As we already know from the end of the previous chapter, one of the co-lead characters meets the lead character’s girlfriend, who is alive and unharmed (almost). He does not believe what he sees and thinks that stress has triggered some serious glitches, and that his mind has gone off on a round-the-world trip. And the girl herself can hardly believe that she is free and alive. That she can finally go home and no longer be afraid of threats from anyone. So these two completely dumbfounded people meet and decide to go to a café to take some strong tea and put a piece of cake into their mouths. And, of course, to talk about everything. About how all of this is possible. About how the girl survived when the men saw everything with their own eyes. And when the other co-lead characters find out – oh, it's wild: the men are in shock but squealing with joy, the girls are about to faint and all in tears, and the dog, overwhelmed with happiness, is racing around the house, crashing into every possible corner and knocking his beloved owner off her feet.
Meanwhile, the lead male character is wandering around nobody knows where, doing nobody knows what, and still dreaming desperately of becoming invisible to the entire world, so that everyone finally leaves him alone. The problem is that while he can hide from people, there’s no way to hide from his hallucination even in another dimension. So, he has to listen to the constant talks about him urgently needing to remember what he forgot, return to his roots, and stop denying something that has been chasing him like a dog with its tongue out for many years. And at the same time, he starts to realize that he is starting to miss his friends. Miss them badly. Miss his friends, for whom he feels terribly ashamed. So, ashamed that he does not rush to reach out to them and does not even pick up his phone to send just a short and simple message like: “Hi.”
Thank you for your attention! Have a nice day!
Love, Estrella Rose.
