May is here, and with it comes MerMay, a month-long celebration of mermaids, merfolk, and everything beneath the waves. From May 1 through May 31 , we invite you to dive into our daily prompt challenge. Each day brings a new, short prompt designed to spark your imagination. Write for any fandom, any rating, any length.
Writers of all fandoms, ships, and genres are welcome!

Every month we publish a list of prompts that you can use for inspiration and as a useful writer’s exercise.
The conditions of the challenge are following:
– Each work should contain a minimum of 300 words;
– Each work must be a new one, (i.e., not published on FicFan previously);
– Each work of this challenge must have a tag Monthly prompts;
– Write the prompts you are using in the notes to the work, so we could check it up;
– You may post works based on prompts during the whole month;
– The challenge finishes with the beginning of the next month!
