April 2025 Tarot Prompt Challenge

A month-long writing challenge inspired by Tarot cards! Each day of April is assigned a Tarot card and a prompt based on its meaning. You can check the information about the cards and the meanings below.
Week 1: Beginnings & Uncertainty
- April 1 - The Fool: A leap of faith, an unexpected journey begins
- April 2 - The Magician: Manifesting power, someone discovers their true potential
- April 3 - The High Priestess: A secret is uncovered, intuition guides the way
- April 4 - The Empress: A moment of nurturing, growth, or unexpected creation
- April 5 - The Emperor: Establishing control, order vs. chaos
- April 6 - The Hierophant: Tradition vs. rebellion, learning from an unexpected mentor
- April 7 - The Lovers: A fateful connection, a difficult choice between love and duty
Week 2: Challenges & Transformation
- April 8 - The Chariot: Determination, pushing forward despite obstacles
- April 9 - Strength: Overcoming fear, emotional or physical resilience
- April 10 - The Hermit: A moment of solitude, self-discovery, or isolation
- April 11 - Wheel of Fortune: A dramatic turn of fate, luck or misfortune?
- April 12 - Justice: A decision that changes everything, truth revealed
- April 13 - The Hanged Man: Seeing the world from a new perspective
- April 14 - Death: An ending that sparks a new beginning
Week 3: Rebirth & Temptation
- April 15 - Temperance: Balance found in unexpected places
- April 16 - The Devil: Temptation, obsession, or breaking free from control
- April 17 - The Tower: Destruction leads to renewal, an unexpected upheaval
- April 18 - The Star: Hope shining in darkness, healing after pain
- April 19 - The Moon: Mystery, illusion, a hidden truth uncovered
- April 20 - The Sun: Joy, triumph, or an unexpected moment of happiness
- April 21 - Judgement: Facing the past, a reckoning before moving forward
Week 4: Resolution & Destiny
- April 22 - The World: Completion, a journey comes full circle
- April 23 - Ace of Cups: A new love, deep emotions awakened
- April 24 - Two of Swords: Caught between two choices, indecision
- April 25 - Three of Wands: Looking towards the future, planning for what’s next
- April 26 - Five of Pentacles: Loss, abandonment, but hope remains
- April 27 - Nine of Swords: Nightmares, anxiety, or a fear that must be faced
- April 28 - Queen of Cups: Compassion, deep understanding, emotional wisdom
- April 29 - King of Swords: Logic vs. emotion, an important decision must be made
- April 30 - The Fool (Reversed): Looking back—was the journey worth it?
Every month we publish a list of prompts that you can use for inspiration and as a useful writer’s exercise. This month we decided to concentrate on the Tarot cards and their meanings.
At the end of the challenge we will randomly pick 3 lucky authors who will get prizes!
The more works based on the monthly prompts you publish, the more chances you get to win!
Note: one person can get only one prize, so everyone has a chance to win.
The conditions of the challenge are following:
– Each work should contain a minimum of 300 words;
– Each work must be a new one, (i.e., not published on FicFan previously);
– Each work of this challenge must have a tag Monthly prompts;
– Write the prompts you are using in the notes to the work, so we could check it up;
– You may post works based on prompts during the whole month;
– The challenge finishes with the beginning of the next month!
