Life is a cruel teacher. It had already taught Jade a lesson once, punishing him for "playing god". Now it decided to reinforce what he had learned by sending him this. A spoiled, yet naive and innocent replica, unaware of its origins. Luke so devoutly believed he'd merely lost his memory… Jade, however, was in no hurry to shatter the illusion of an ordinary life. After all, Luke was his mistake… His responsibility.
Jade looked deeper into Luke's soul than the others, who were too accustomed to judging by the surface. While everyone else saw a selfish adult, to Jade he was just an immature child, who hadn't even had a childhood and who desperately needed nurturing. And since everyone else was "blind", he had to nurture him himself…
Luke slept carefree in bed, clutching Mieu like a stuffed animal, who merely squealed without waking. Jade watched them with a tired gaze. For the first time, he seemed to regret his lack of empathy, so necessary for children. He knew only how to command an army. Give orders or personally deal with an enemy. But this required something more complex and subtle, something even a genius could not master.
'You have a bad luck, Luke… Since I'm a bad teacher…'
Jade could only stay and guide Luke, a creature of the technology he'd created and abandoned. Be there, watching and helping as best he could. And if Luke too one day became a monster, then…
'A very bad luck…'ㅤ
