"A-a-ah, slugs-slugs-slugs!!!" Arche was horrified when she saw the cave dwellers, the first to "greet" the guests.
"Just fry them," Yuri said calmly. "They won't even have time to reach you."
"By the way…" She seemed to have just remembered she possessed magic. And, fueled by the still-fresh fear, she began babbling, "Fireball, fireball, fireball!" until Yuri covered her mouth with his hand. She had to bite him, breaking free, and ask in a voice full of offense: "What are you doing?"
"I need to ask you that. Are you planning on burying us alive?"
"Huh?" Arche glanced at the roasted carcasses in the narrow opening—the perfect spot for a cave-in. Laughing nervously, she looked innocently at Yuri. "Well, I overdid it a little."
Yuri could only sigh: he'd gotten used to it. He literally worked as her guardian angel sometimes. And it all started with him simply helping another pink-haired girl escape from a castle. True, this time it was the castle of the Demon King himself, and the girl was no princess… But those were just details.
Arche turned out to be such a troublemaker that their friends even hoped that their union of two negatives would create a positive… And when the troubles ended, Arche created them herself. Even in everyday things. And Yuri had no idea that anyone could cook worse than Flynn…
They'd gotten used to it, though. They'd become close… So much so that going on missions together had become something natural and undisputed.
"And anyway, if you wanted to stop me, you should have done it with a kiss!"
"I'm afraid you'd have bitten my tongue off…"
"That's fine without the tongue…"
"A punch to the jaw—that's not a good idea either."
"Hmm…" Arche frowned, unsure of what else to come up with: Yuri was always right.
"Let's finish this quickly, otherwise you clearly won't be satisfied with just kissing."
Yuri smirked as Arche blushed from head to toe. It was her own fault, though: she managed to turn every kiss into something more. And a cave full of monsters was definitely not the right place for that "something more"…
