The Quest Begins

Settings
The gray, striped she-cat opened her eyes sleepily. A small ray of light, warm but playful, shone into her eyes, waking her. The she-cat rose reluctantly. Her paws ached, heavy with exhaustion. "Yeah... I wish I could curl up in a Twoleg nest right now..." she said with a charming yawn, and after a quick stretch, pressed her nose to the ground. "I need to pick up his trail quickly..." Murka muttered to herself, but remembering the loner's gaze, she shuddered with a strange thrill. With fierce determination, she decided to guard her purity for him. Slowly, slinking like a snake, the she-cat crept through the thick, green undergrowth. He ran through here... she realized, following the prickly scent. But then, the circle of trees was interrupted by the thin, inviting, joyful babble of a stream. The scent led there. "Oh no, not water!" she groaned, flattening her ears as she imagined the bone-chilling cold seeping under her fur. But soon, the green canopy of trees fell behind, revealing the radiant sky. It was indeed a small stream, easy to wade across. On both sides of the winding stream, among the glistening pebbles, dense thickets of reeds and cattails pushed through. As soon as Murka trotted carefully onto the gravel, her soft paw pads immediately protested with a dull ache. "Bear with it!" she snorted in annoyance. Love gave her the strength to move forward, despite the obstacles. But then, the fluffy, pretty fur of the she-cat touched the water, and Murka shuddered. Her fur grew waterlogged, heavy like a weight, pulling her down. The icy water of the stream seemed to seep past her flesh and wash over her very bones, making her muscles twitch and spasm. As soon as she crossed the stream, she let out a relieved breath—but it was too soon. Behind her, like a bolt from the blue, came a deep, disapproving voice: "What are you doing on WillowClan territory?!"
