Chapter 1

*let's go~: . . . . . Almost midnight. Sheza woke up shivering from the cold and because she needed to pee. The fire had already turned into ashes. Kirishima was sleeping on his back like there was no tomorrow. Bakugo wasn’t around. 'I don’t want to overthink it.' 'I can already hear him yelling because I woke him up saying I’m cold and need to pee.' She waited a few minutes, thinking maybe Bakugo had gone to pee and would come back any second. Too many thoughts started running through her head. 'I’m not a kid, but he makes me look like one.' 'I don’t need to inform him, right?' 'No. Bad idea. If anything happens, he’d chop my head off before anything even happens.' 'What a perfect husband.' Sheza sighed, reached into her suitcase, drank some water, then put on her wool robe. 'Mission one finished.' Before heading off, she noticed Kirishima’s blanket had been kicked away, like a kid in his sleep. A smile crossed her face as she gently covered him again. What a pure-hearted guy he is. As she walked closer to the lake, she heard voices, two people. She was too tired to care, but the voices were painfully familiar. “You’re making this harder for me!” “Bakugo, please keep your distance. You’re a married man now,” Uraraka whispered, sadness lacing her voice. “You think this is a game?! That I can just run away from this marriage without starting a war?!” Bakugo whispered angrily, completely ignoring her words about distance. “This girl isn’t a normal human. Mana follows her,” Uraraka said quietly, staring at the full night sky. “What do you mean? If she were an elf or a dragon, I would’ve felt her mana. Besides that vampires and werewolves has long extinct .She’s a useless human.” “There’s no mana in her body, but I feel a strange aura around her, something new. I can’t pinpoint it. And isn’t it strange for a human to have red eyes?” Uraraka explained. “So now you’re saying she is hiding her real identity?” Bakugo said sarcastically. Silence was Uraraka’s answer. Bakugo stepped back, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “What do you want me to do, Ochaco?! You’re tormenting me by staying with that duke! I fucking love you, yet you won’t even give me a chance!” He held her face, his thumbs brushing over her cheeks softly, like she was made of glass. “I’d do anything for you. Anything. Just give my love a chance.” “I don’t know, Bakugo. Love isn’t that easy.” Uraraka stepped out of his reach, refusing to meet his gaze. Bakugo’s rage was visible, his whole body shaking. “If that ‘creature’ is the reason, then I’ll get rid of her!” “Bakugo… stop-” “-*mn it! I’d turn humans to ashes if-” Sheza ran. She ran back to camp, unable to bear the humiliation anymore. Tears blurred her vision, but she quickly wiped them away. 'I didn’t want to be part of this.' 'What did I do to deserve this? All I wanted was to see the outside world.' Her bladder protested, forcing her to stop. She found the nearest suitable spot and relieved herself, biting her lip to keep from crying. When she was done, she stared up at the full moon. 'What should I do now?' She wanted to run away- leave everything behind. She knew she could survive on her own. Her caretaker’s words echoed in her mind. 'A noble lady must think wisely before choosing. Her choices affect not only her, but those who follow her.' Sheza took a deep breath, then slowly walked back toward camp, taking her time admiring the beautiful night sky. 'I don't want to be even a noble lady' As she got closer, she saw Bakugo standing near the newly lit fire, looking around in frustration. The moment he noticed her, he turned sharply. “Where the fuck have you been?! Wasn’t I clear when I said not to go anywhere alone?!” “Went to pee.” She said calmly, walking straight to her sleeping bag without waiting for his response. “Tsk. Whatever.” Bakugo sat down by the fire, not feeling like sleeping. Too many thoughts were running through his head. But he knew one thing. He always chose what he believed was right. After all, he was the Barbarian Prince, the future king. The next day passed in a blur. “Sheza, are you really okay? Do you have a fever? You’re usually not this quiet,” Kirishima joked, checking her forehead. Sheza smiled tiredly. “I’m fine. Just not used to sleeping on the ground.” “Tsk! You better get used to it, we’ve still got a long way,” Bakugo said, walking ahead of them. How did all of this start? Sheza wondered, staring at his back with sad eyes. A week ago, a meeting was held between the humans and the Barbarian elite fighters. The goal: end the war. The solution: an engagement. A marriage between the hybrid prince- born of a Barbarian mother and a dragon father- and the Count’s illegitimate daughter. She accepted only because she wanted to see the world beyond humans. To escape her cage. No noble girl agreed. Even the human princess swore she’d rather slit her throat than marry the Barbarian Prince. Kirishima- the prince’s childhood friend and right-hand man- a full-blooded dragon. There was no ceremony. Just papers signed, then she was taken from the Count’s residence. She expected to travel in a carriage. Instead, she rode on Kirishima’s back. Despite her excitement at riding a dragon, the moment she climbed down, her entire body shook violently. The journey between kingdoms could take months years on foot. Humans lived in the mountains. Barbarians ruled near the sea coast. “Sheza, how’s your body holding up?” Kirishima asked. It had been a five days since they left. Along the way, they met three travelers. A green-haired man, looking the same age as bakugo and kirishima. Midoriya Izuku, delivering a message from the Barbarian Queen. Bakugo and Midoriya were childhood friends, though Bakugo couldn’t stand him. With him were Shoto, the youngest elf prince, and Uraraka, a witch trainer. Even though they were headed the same way, Bakugo refused to travel together ,yelling until he ordered Kirishima to transform and take off. He didn’t care that Sheza’s body wasn’t used to dragon rides. Through it all, Sheza tried to understand everything. She liked Midoriya’s group, especially Shoto. Their lives felt oddly similar. He was quiet, but he always answered politely. Now, on the morning of the fifth day, the three continued walking. Last night still haunted her. She opened her notebook and began writing. “What language is that?” Kirishima asked, noticing the strange symbols. “My caretaker taught me. She said it’s a secret language between us,” Sheza smiled. Kirishima flipped through the notebook curiously, then whispered, “Hide it from Midoriya. He’d definitely want to learn it.” “That’s impossible. What would he gain from it?” “Even if it’s useless, he’d still learn it. Knowledge addict.” He crossed his arms proudly as Sheza murmured a quiet “wow.” “Stop talking about that nerd!!” Bakugo suddenly yelled. Kirishima expected Sheza to complain like usual, but she stayed silent. “Are you sure you’re okay? We can stop at an inn,” Kirishima said worriedly. “Stop deciding things on your own!” “I’m really okay. I should be asking if you’re okay, you’ve been carrying my suitcase the whole way,” Sheza replied, completely ignoring Bakugo. “Nah, I’m fine. These muscles exist for a reason,” Kirishima flexed proudly. Sheza felt Bakugo’s gaze on her. She ignored it. 'At least I’ll enjoy this trip, she thought. Future me can deal with the problems.' . . . . . Write comments, i like reading your opinions ☕...
