Finn’s origins remained shrouded in mystery; his early life was a labyrinth of myths and speculation. Some claimed he rose from the sea itself, transforming from a merman into a man with an insatiable thirst for adventure and riches. Others believed him to be the illegitimate son of a wealthy merchant and a fiery gypsy, destined for greatness from birth. His past remained obscure, but he once said that since childhood, he had been drawn to the sea. When he was just an eleven-year-old boy, he ran away from home and set off with sailors into the vast expanses of the blue waters. And it is with such a man that this story begins. Finn’s story is the backstory of the main plot. Finn’s journey began with sailing on ordinary vessels, but soon that wasn’t enough for him. He realized that simply sailing with sailors was not what he truly wanted. And soon his wish came true: the ship he was on was attacked by pirates, and they took Finn with them. Even in his youth, the future pirate proved to be a prodigy among seasoned buccaneers. His natural talent for navigation, swordsmanship, and cunning quickly earned him the respect of experienced sailors. He was short for his age, wiry and agile, with piercing green eyes that seemed to glow with mischief even in the darkest depths of the night. A mane of hair, black as a raven’s wing, framed his angular face, often ruffled by the salty winds sweeping across the decks. Under the guidance of Captain Krans the Mighty, Finn learned the true ways of piracy — how to plunder, maraud, and evade capture. Yet even amidst the camaraderie and debauchery of pirate life, Finn felt an emptiness, a hunger that drove him to seek more. He yearned for something greater, a purpose beyond mere material gain. He craved true glory. The pirate was already famous across many continents, but for him, it was not enough. He became a true pirate at heart — greedy for treasures. Yet, in his vocabulary, silver and gold no longer stood beside the word „Jewel“. To him, they were no longer synonyms. Finn was searching for his own kind of treasure — freedom, glory, or perhaps, the desire to conquer all seven seas. Years passed, and Finn transformed into a fearsome figure on the open sea. His exploits became the subject of whispers and exaggerated rumors, fueling the imaginations of those who heard them. Some said he could command the very winds, bending the elements to his will. Others claimed he had struck deals with dark forces, bartering his soul for unimaginable wealth and power. But Finn paid no heed to such superstitions. Instead, he focused on building his reputation as a ruthless yet charismatic leader, feared by his enemies and admired by his loyal followers. Under his command, the pirate fleet flourished, amassing staggering hoards of gold, jewels, and exotic artifacts. However, despite his success, Finn could not shake the feeling that something was missing. One fateful day, while charting a course through uncharted waters, Finn’s ship stumbled upon a mysterious island shrouded in eternal mist. The air around it seemed to hum with otherworldly energy, and the waves crashed against the shore with an eerie rhythm. Intrigued, Finn ordered the ship to anchor, and a small party, including himself, set out to explore the enigmatic landmass. As they ventured deeper into the heart of the island, the atmosphere grew increasingly oppressive and unsettling. Strange symbols adorned the trees and rocks, pulsing with an ethereal crimson light that seemed to beckon them forward. Finn’s instincts screamed at him to turn back, but curiosity pushed him onward, driven by an inexplicable desire to uncover the secrets hidden within the misty veil. Finally, they came upon a strange cave, inside of which a waterfall gurgled right in the center, flowing into a river. In the middle of the cave, framed by water splitting into two streams, stood an ancient structure, its weathered stones bearing the weight of centuries. An enigmatic inscription was carved at the entrance, warning of dire consequences for those who dared to cross the threshold. Undaunted, Finn stepped beneath the arches and looked around. He peered behind the waterfall, brushed aside the vines covering a deeper, darker part of the cave beyond the water curtain, and saw a dimly lit chamber filled with various strange, alluring, and mysterious artifacts. In the center of the room, upon a pedestal of black obsidian, rested a golden medallion adorned with intricate engravings depicting scenes of sea battles and mythical creatures. As Finn approached, the pendant began to glow with an intense, dazzling light. The air around it crackled with energy, and he felt an all-consuming sense of destiny wash over him. In that very moment, the medallion transformed: now it depicted a Jolly Roger with a crown above its head. Despite this change, the artifact’s energy felt even more powerful than before. Without a second thought, Finn reached out and snatched the medallion, feeling its warmth seep into his palm. As soon as his fingers closed around the artifact, the room exploded in a blinding flash of light. When the haze cleared, the pirate found himself standing on a windswept cliff overlooking the vast expanse of the turquoise sea. The sky above him was painted in shades of crimson and gold, signaling the approach of twilight. A voice, like an echo of many voices woven into one, ancient and eternal, resounded in his mind, speaking words that struck a chord deep within the daring pirate’s soul: «Finn, son of the sea, chosen by one of the tides… You have been chosen to inherit the ancient power of the seas and winds and to become the first Pirate King in history. Accept this burden, and you shall rule the seven seas, commanding the winds and taming the waves.» Finn had no time to answer, finding himself back on the ship with his crew. But now, the medallion rested in his hands, and he hung it around his neck. From that moment on, his eyes gleamed, stained a crimson hue, like the very blood of the devil. It was at this precise moment that the story of Finn the Terrible, the scourge of the seas, ended, and the story of Finn Ans, the First of the Pirate Kings, began.Chapter 0 (Extra).
