ㅤ Jude spent his time in the spirit world, helping Milla. Nothing worldly mattered to him anymore: he had done everything he could. He left the rest to the conscience of future generations, maintaining faith in them. Milla's eyes and ears in the human world were Muset, telling her about all the latest developments, sometimes openly teasing her sister. So much so that from time to time, Maxwell herself would descend to the people. Jude was used to hearing her enthusiastically and vividly describe her journey after her return. This time, Jude, too, was expecting an interesting story, caring for the young spirits entrusted to him. He enjoyed listening to her, no matter what she said. He dreamily imagined Milla returning… He missed the moment when his surroundings changed. The hubbub of the crowd was the first sign that something was wrong. Milla and another striking blonde stood surrounded by people and… spirits. The stranger was terribly angry. Was it because Milla had copied her outfit, or because she had won the… summoning competition? Jude couldn't tell. "I can understand four elemental spirits," a man in the crowd pondered, setting aside his admiration for the "summoner's" power. "But who is this one?" he jerked his finger unceremoniously in Jude's direction. "Maxwell's right hand!" Milla said proudly. "The spirit of the creator of the first working mass-produced s spyrite!" For a moment, the crowd fell silent, exchanging questioning glances. "Who?" a voice said quietly. "What?" the same questions began to rise in volume. Milla looked at them in surprise, not understanding why there were no gasps of admiration. "It's all right," Jude reassured her. "Too many years have passed, many civilizations have changed," he reminded her. The concept of spyrite also disappeared, replaced by new methods of summoning, new foundations. Large cities and skyscrapers disappeared, people returned to castles and villages. Or rather, they rebuilt them. Guilds emerged. Lucy, seething with anger, belonged to one of them. However, her anger subsided when she tried to understand what kind of boy spirit appeared before her. The contrast with the greatest elemental spirits was too strong. "Look what they use for summoning now!" Milla raised a key above her head, glittering in the sun. An ordinary-looking shape, but it seemed made of gold. "Now it's easier for spirits to enter the human world, communicate, and share knowledge!" "Oh, no, it's not that simple!" Lucy protested. "Each spirit needs its own key and an individual approach!" 'But it's essentially the same spyrite. They just changed the form…' Jude smiled wryly, not daring to intervene in the argument. 'But as for a living spirit…' He had to admit that the device's principle was different. Spirits no longer perished en masse; material for spyrite would simply be impossible to find. Which meant… 'This civilization has surpassed ours.' Jude couldn't help but feel joy and pride. For the people he believed in so strongly. As well as for Milla's feelings, which he shared with her. "Thank you for showing me," he said softly, looking at Milla understandingly. Simply telling it wouldn't have been enough. But now Milla's story would sound even more vivid. And inspiring, not unbelievable. 'As if a fairy tale come true…' ㅤ
