Chapter 1

Winter was approaching, and everything was going on as usual. Lina and Ten’s romance was blooming wildly, just like mine and Jay’s, and I could confidently say that I was completely satisfied with my life. Studying was also coming fairly easily to me, and everything would have been absolutely perfect if not for the increasingly frequent unexplained chest pains and dizziness.
I was also often overcome by some strange weakness, but I blamed it all on the academic workload and stress from tests, trying not to pay too much attention to these minor (as I thought back then) ailments.
Jay, however, was paying attention to them and frowned more and more often whenever I complained to him again about headaches and weakness. Several times he even suggested that I get examined at his parents’ clinic, but I just brushed it off, since I didn’t consider such nonsense a good enough reason to see a doctor.
Until one day… I felt really bad right as I was leaving the university after classes.

I stepped outside, planning to wait for Jay, who had promised to pick me up, not far from the gates. But suddenly everything went dark before my eyes, a ringing started in my head, and my chest felt as if it had been pierced by a red-hot rod. I groaned and pressed my forehead against the cool column by the entrance doors, taking shallow, ragged breaths and trying to stay on my wobbling legs.
I had never had such a strong episode before, and I got seriously scared.
I don’t know how long I stood like that, but after some time, through the ringing in my ears, I heard — as if from underwater — the hoarse and extremely worried voice of my boyfriend:
“Bambi, baby, what’s wrong with you?”
Jay’s warm hands closed around my waist, confidently pulling me against his strong body, and I almost moaned with relief. He was here. He had come. That meant… everything would be okay now…
It couldn’t be any other way, right?
My vision finally cleared a little, and Jay turned me to face him, gazing into my eyes with deep concern.
“What happened, baby?” he breathed out tensely, cupping my face in his warm palms. “Did you… feel bad again?”
I shook my head in confusion and shrugged.
“I… don’t know what’s wrong… My head suddenly started spinning and my heart felt squeezed. But I guess I just got too nervous. We had an English test today, and Mr. Parker is really strict, and…”
But Jay didn’t let me finish. He interrupted my stream of excuses with a tight embrace, then shook his head disapprovingly and sighed, kissing my forehead.
“Silly girl. No studying is worth getting so nervous over. You should take an example from me. I never prepare for any tests at all, yet I still get by thanks to my natural intuition and logical way of thinking.”
I chuckled cheerfully and poked his firm chest with my finger.
“Stop lying! I know perfectly well that you get by only thanks to your pretty eyes and natural charm, which you shamelessly use on the professors, you sly cat!”
Jay smirked, sliding his hot open palms down my back all the way to my hips and squeezing them firmly to pull me scandalously close. Leaning down, he purred right against my lips:
“The end justifies the means, kitten, trust me. Now let’s go. You need to eat properly to regain your strength.”
“Where are we going today?” I asked with a smile, persistently moving his naughty hands back up to a more public-appropriate height.
Jay grinned but obediently wrapped his arm around my waist and led me toward his jeep, parked by the university gates. Smiling, he said:
“To your favorite cat café. I’ll take you there for lunch to cheer you up and raise your blood sugar level at the same time. Then I’ll drop you home and head to the clinic — I have a shift today.”
I smiled and, rising on my tiptoes, kissed his warm cheek.
“I love it when you start talking like a doctor… You’re so smart… It’s… insanely arousing. It’s a shame I’ve never seen you in a white coat yet… I bet you look absolutely stunning in it, Doctor.”
Hearing this, Jay suddenly stumbled and choked on air, coughing from laughter. He quickly composed himself, put on his most impassive expression, and grinned in his usual cocky way, waggling his eyebrows:
“Oh, is that how it is? And how often do you… fantasize about me in a white coat, hmm?”
“Every night…” I purred, rising on my toes again, intending only to teasingly brush my lips against his cheek.
But my boyfriend had other plans.
We had just reached his car. He abruptly turned his head, pulled me flush against him, and captured my lips with his own. He immediately parted them confidently, pressing me against the door of his black jeep and deepening the kiss — as if punishing me for my boldness and wanting to show me exactly what awaited me if I continued to provoke him so openly.
I only sighed contentedly and smiled against his lips — I simply adored it when he became so dominant. I caught his answering smile, and Jay pulled back slightly, stroking my cheek. With a smile, he whispered:
“Let’s go, Bambi. On the way, you can tell me about all your wet fantasies starring me in a white coat… and rest assured, I’ll fulfill every single one.”
