Fennmont was once a bustling city, an important strategic point in the country, producing the best doctors. The merger with Elympios expanded the institute, introducing many new disciplines and discovering more effective treatments. It was here that Jude's life changed forever. From here he set out on a journey in which he found himself. It was a little sad to see the trees, twisted and bent, with almost no room left for habitation. Where there was room to squeeze in, broken staircases and crooked floors made it impossible to settle in.
Gray-haired Jude wandered through the haunts of his youth, gazing nostalgically at the thickets where nothing familiar remained. Yet his memory still conjured up images so vivid and familiar that a smile involuntarily touched his face.
The entrance to the academy was overgrown, so even the distorted corridors and classrooms made it impossible to move around. He crawled into the hospital on all fours, but stood upright inside. As luck would have it, it was precisely the usual office that they and professor House had been assigned that the branches had completely blocked off. However, the chirping of sylphjay chicks could be heard inside. Bobo's descendants continued to nest, flying in through the former window on the other side. Here they always found protection and salvation. True, there was no one left to save them… But the memory remained.
Afterwards, Jude headed toward the research center. He didn't make it: the road was destroyed. Right after the fateful descent to the water, pierced by a thick root, Jude leaned against the surviving piece of the embankment railing, looking down. He watched the water splash between the roots. Life had not stood still. And even after his death, it would continue to flow. And when he died…
Jude concentrated mana around his body, closing his eyes tightly. With one purpose: to convey a message.
'I miss you…'
In response, he received a light embrace, not felt physically, only spiritually.
Jude was in no hurry to enter the spirit world. Even though he had perfected his spyrite, he continued to work for the benefit of the world shared by spirits and humans. He wanted to unite them as much as possible, to strengthen their connection so that it would never be lost again. So that the problem of spyrix would not arise again in the distant future, when current history would fade into oblivion, vanish like Fennmont from modern maps. And in this history, Jude had written his name for centuries. And the time had come to say goodbye to Fennmont. That was why Jude had come here. He rarely had time for idle travel. More often, he traveled the world, spreading his message to the masses, giving lectures at educational institutions large and small. There was almost no time for rest. But happiness and good fortune accompanied him. Jude felt truly blessed by the spirits.
'I have to go, otherwise I won't get any sleep before the lecture. No one wants to listen to a sleepy old man: without a boost of energy, the information won't sink in!'
Jude took a deep breath, taking in as much of Fennmont's air as he could before leaving. He exhaled smoothly and walked away, leaving the deserted, overgrown Fennmont far behind.
