*The students enter art class as the kindergarteners exit. Mister Compass is standing in the room instead. *
*Most of the class arrives at the same conclusion. *
*Another class has become a d*ath sentence. There's another threat. *
Mister Compass: Alright, *Mister Compass grabs a stack of papers and reads them over. * So ... you'll need to ... draw ... a 3d object. I'll be giving you a criteria worksheet as well. Don't fail.
*Mister Compass hands out the criteria worksheet to the class and they get started on drawing. *
*Compass grades the art designs. Most are ... okay. 80-89 for the assignments. The bell rings and they go to Miss Emily's class. *
Riley: ...
RUBY: Hey, Riley!
Riley: ... yes?
RUBY: Good luck. I hope that our studying helped you.
Riley: ...
*
"She was so naïve. She was too nice. But, in this school, that's a weakness. It's something that puts you in danger.
...
But it made things seem better. Like there was a small amount of hope in this world.
Now?
Sasha ... " Miss Emily thinks. *
*The class enters the room. Another day of trying to teach these st*pid students. *
Miss Emily: *Sighs* I hope that you've been studying, because today is ... testing day. *Miss Emily hands out the testing paper for the class. * Start!
*For 20 minutes the entire class answers the questions on the test. Riley spends 30 minutes, trying her best to remember what she studied. *
*The students turn in the test. Miss Emily Grades them. *
Miss Emily: Edward: 83. Engel: 79. Lizzy: 60. Petunia: 75. Zip: 50. Oliver/K: 90. Cubbie: 95. Connor: 85. RUBY: 100. Riley: -
*"please please please please." Riley thinks. *
Miss Emily: - 80.
Riley (Yelling): YES!
Miss Emily: I'm glad you're exited, but don't yell.
*The bell rings and the class exits the room. RUBY walks up to Riley. *
RUBY: What grade did you get?
*Riley hesitantly shows RUBY the score she got. *
RUBY: You did it! You passed.
*RUBY hugs Riley, slightly lifting her off the ground, causing Riley to blush a little. *
Riley: Th - thank you. Please put me down.
RUBY: Alright. Sorry. *RUBY lets Riley go. * You want to study for science in the library? You can even say what you like about Oliver/K.
Riley: yeah.
...
I'd like that.
*Riley and RUBY go towards the library, but three other students arrive there as well. A Rabbit. A girl with ribbons. And someone with feathers. *
*After asking one of the other students to move somewhere else, they sit down. Riley and RUBY start trading studying topics and questions about Oliver/K, but ... *
Petunia: Okay, you want to talk?
Engel: o - okay.
I ... haven't been ... feeling.
Lizzy: Feeling what?
Engel: Anything.
I can't feel anything anymore, even when I should. It feels like I shouldn't need to. I ... I don't deserve to.
Lizzy: Why do you feel that way?
Engel: ... I ... don't ...
...
I didn't always look like this. I wasn't always as strong as I was now.
Claire's mom ... changed me.
I ... made a promise. I said that I'd keep her safe.
I failed.
I haven't spoken to her since Claire di*ed.
Lizzy: ... that's awful.
I get that'd you feel upset over not being able to save Claire.
Petunia: I'd probably feel the same if Lizzy was hurt.
Lizzy: Look ... you did all that you could.
I bet that Claire's mom would be proud that you risked it all to save her daughter.
I ... maybe you should try to talk to her.
Engel: ... I'll think about it.
But ... I feel like there's some other stuff that's wrong.
...
I don't know what to do.
My friends aren't even at this school. No offence.
There's plenty of other ways to get education.
I can't even help any of the other students here.
Why shouldn't I go live with them?
Lizzy: What about your mom?
Engel: She wouldn't miss me.
Lizzy: ...
Well ...
maybe ... maybe you should go stay with your friends.
Engel: uh ...
Lizzy: Yeah. Stay with the people you care about.
Engel: ... I ... are you sure?
Petunia: Yeah ... Go be with them. We'll be okay here.
Engel: ... alight.
We ... we can still talk over the phone, right?
Lizzy and Petunia: Sure.
