Chapter 17.6: Thursday: Crumble

Robby walks back to his home. Skell's gone. He was one of the few friends he had. The walk's silent. He arrives home and knocks on the door. Rebecca opens it instead of their parents. Her eyes are red.
Rebecca: Hey, bro? I gotta talk to you. *They walk to the table. *
Robby: What's wrong?
Rebecca: Mom and Dad. They got into a car crash.
Robby: ... What are we going to do now?
Rebecca: We inherited mom's money and I still have my job. I think we can survive for a while.
Robby: What are we supposed to do when we run out?
Rebecca (Yelling): I DON'T KNOW!
I Don't know what to do.
Robby: W-
Rebecca (Internally)"It's my fault. If I hadn't told mom what dad was doing-"
Robby: It's okay. *Robby puts his hand on Rebecca's shoulder. * I'm sure that - *He tries to think of something to make the situation better. There's nothing to say. *
Rebecca: I need to be alone for a bit. *Robby walks back to his room. He stares at his computer but doesn't try to activate it. *
"I really should've talked to you more.
Ignoring what you had to say didn't work.
I'm sorry."
