Chapter 7.5: Tuesday: What is the Motive?

Skell flies back to his home. It's difficult for him to fly this much without his medicine. He takes a key out of his backpack and unlocks it. Its stone tiles are completely flat, yet it feels like spikes on his feet when he walks. Every day of repeating this. Seeing the worst get away with their actions while students drop like flies. Disheartening. It's disgusting.
*As he walks through the hallway, another winged figure walks through the door, blocking Skell from moving. Her horns are slightly damaged, yet her suit and tie she's wearing brings attentions away from it, especially since most members of their species don't wear such a thing. *
Miss Périr: Skell? You didn't tell me that you were be back. You could've scared me. Anyway, how come you haven't been taking any of the medications?
Skell: There's no point.
Miss Périr: I paid so much money on that just to help you. You'd better take it.
Skell: Why do you even care?
Miss Périr: I spent years raising you. I'm not going to let you just give up because some of those weirdos died.
Skell: "Weirdos." That's how you refer to people you don't like. *Skell walks towards his room. *
Miss Périr: Don't walk away from me, Skell. *She grabs Skell's arm. * Do you really think that you get to even hint that you're able to walk away? You are going to take that medication, even if I have to force you to!
Skell: That's too bad. *Skell's mom raises an eyebrow. * I got rid of it all, so- *Skell's mom covers her face as she screams into her own hands. *
Miss Périr: I give you everything you ask. I allow you to dress however you want and wear those stupid pins. What! IS! Your! Issue?! What do you expect me to do!
Skell: I expect you to not treat me like I'm some investment.
Miss Périr: Why do you care? Why does my motive matter when I'm trying to help you? *Skell walks away again. His mom nearly tries to grab his arm, but she stops herself and just goes back to her room. *
