Aurora sat amid the ruins of her own world. Its only remaining inhabitant. Amid the emptiness and devastation, there was no room for hope. Abandoned by those she was born to protect and love, she had no room in her heart for loneliness—only for an all-consuming nothingness…
When she first saw him, Aurora thought he was just a beautiful illusion. When he extended his hand to her, when she felt his warmth, tears involuntarily flowed from her eyes—her heart thawed. Quietly, without sobs. She still found it difficult to believe it with her mind, but her body chose to follow her heart.
Widdershin became her savior, her hope, and the one she loved more than the world that had given her birth. He became everything. Therefore, she gave him everything, including herself and her world.
Widdershin's sweet words were intoxicating. The idea of becoming one with him became her dream. Their worlds had already merged; all that remained was for them to become part of each other. But she had to be patient to help realize Widdershin's ideal—a united world without disappointment or pain.
While she helped him achieve their shared goal, Widdershin led her through other worlds. Some of them were naively ignorant of the true nature of mana-hungry creatures. Some were already on the brink, greeting their saviors with tears. Some dreamed of reviving their world, which Widdershin promised to help with; some happily agreed to become part of a unified world. But they all had one destiny—to feel and accept the great plan, as Aurora did.
She sensed no malice in Widdershin's words. She always found a justification for any discrepancy with reality. He promised someone to restore their world? Well, that had already found new life within Gilgulim. The lamentations of those who disagreed at the absorption of a prosperous world? At least now none of them would know the same pain as Aurora, for Aurora's world had once been full of life and mana too. They would not know her disappointment.
Aurora had blind faith in Widdershin. But it wasn't him who blinded her… It was the creatures of her world. And although Widdershin always avoided the question of close intimacy, Aurora sensed his sincerity when it came to his plan to unite all worlds. Even if not her personally, he seemed to love all worlds—Aurora wanted to believe this. After all, then, at least indirectly, his feelings would be directed toward her too…
