APPENDIX XVII: PROJECT “SIREN”**

Excerpts from Professor Stern’s secret logs and subsequent analysis conducted by Architect Kai.
SECTION 1: GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
PROJECT NAME: Project “Siren”
STATUS: Mothballed. Threat Class “Omega.”
CLASSIFICATION: Failed experiment to create an artificial Anomaly with root access rights to reality. A living psychokinetic weapon of unstable type.
DESCRIPTION: Project “Siren” represents the highest degree of scientific hubris and metaphysical recklessness of Professor Stern. It is an attempt not to study, but to copy divine code without possessing the keys to its architecture. If Ranafer is a symphony written by God, then Lyra is its brilliant but unrecognizable distorted melody, played on a broken instrument. She is the embodiment of Power without Structure, Energy without Will.
SECTION 2: GENESIS: THE ARCHITECTURE OF ERROR
PROBLEM: Object-Alpha (Ranafer) is a unique and uncontrollable carrier of “root access” to reality. His loyalty is not guaranteed, and his will is unpredictable. To implement Project “Panacea,” Professor Stern required his own, fully controlled tool with analogous rights.
HYPOTHESIS (SOLUTION): Stern assumed that Ranafer’s “divine spark” is not magic, but information. A unique, extremely complex, yet readable code fragment woven into his DNA. And any information can be copied and reproduced.
MECHANICS: The process of creating “Siren” took place in three stages and represented an act of monstrous bioengineering.
Biological “Canvas”: Under the side Project “Golem,” Stern already possessed the technology to grow human “vessels”—bodies without consciousness, genetically pure and ready for imprinting. For “Siren,” one of the most perfect specimens was selected—the body of a teenage girl (age ~12), whose neural system was clean as a blank slate.
Signature Extraction: For two years, every experiment on Ranafer was an act of data collection. Every burst of his power, every neural reaction to pain or fear, samples of his blood and tissues—all of this was scanned, analyzed, and cataloged with one goal: to isolate that specific “divine fragment” responsible for his abilities.
Forced Integration (“Copy-Paste”): Having collected what he deemed sufficient data, Stern attempted to “imprint” the copied and simplified signature of Ranafer into the genome of “Vessel-7.” Using viral vectors and quantum resonators, he attempted to crudely “copy and paste” divine code into human code.
SECTION 3: RESULT: ELEMENT OF CHAOS
COMPILATION ERROR: The experiment failed catastrophically and brilliantly. Stern copied the power, but failed to copy the control. Ranafer’s power is subordinate to his will and intellect. Lyra’s power turned out to be rigidly tied to her limbic system—to her emotions. She does not control reality; her feelings become reality.
OBJECT “SIREN”: The awakening of “Vessel-7” was the birth not of a human, but of a living anomaly.
Physical Markers: Code instability manifested in her appearance. Her skin acquired an unnatural pallor, and her hair a silver hue. The most striking marker of the glitch is heterochromia: one eye is the color of piercing winter ice (blue), the other the color of a storm cloud (dark gray).
Psychic Profile: Lyra is an infant in a teenager’s body. Her consciousness is a blank slate upon which the first and only word written was “FEAR.” She remembers nothing except the moment of her painful “activation” and subsequent imprisonment. She cannot speak; her communication is pure, unfiltered empathy.
Nature of Power (“Water”): Her abilities are a direct reflection of her emotional state, symbolically corresponding to the element of Water—fluid, uncontrollable, taking any shape.
Fear: Causes a sharp drop in temperature, appearance of frost.
Pain/Grief: Manifests as spontaneous moisture condensation, “weeping walls,” short circuits.
Anger: Leads to a sharp increase in pressure, causing glass and fragile objects to burst.
SECTION 4: CURRENT STATUS
THREAT AND ISOLATION: Lyra’s very first panic scream after “birth” caused a psychokinetic wave that nearly led to the collapse of the reactor cooling system. Realizing he had created not a controllable god but a living time bomb, Stern made the only possible decision.
CRYO-STASIS: Lyra was immediately placed into cryogenic sleep. Her pod was placed in an isolated sector and surrounded by eight psi-suppression field generators that keep her mind in a state of artificial coma. To Stern, she is his greatest failure and most valuable asset.
SECTION 5: ANALYTICAL CONCLUSION: NARRATIVE FUNCTION
The appearance of Lyra is a key catalyst for the evolution of the protagonists, moving their relationship beyond the bounds of a romantic connection.
For Kai (Architect): Lyra is not just a victim; she is distorted code. His first reaction is not only compassion but professional horror and the duty to “fix” a broken but beautiful system. Initially, he sees in her not a human, but a task he must solve to restore harmony.
For Ranafer (Core): Meeting Lyra is meeting his own disfigured reflection. Initially, he sees in her not a sister or a daughter, but his own pain embodied in another being. This generates in him not only a furious, primal desire to protect but also a deep sense of guilt, of which only Kai can cure him. Ranafer becomes her emotional anchor and mentor, the only one who can teach her to control her “fire,” because they are made of the same material.
Formation of a “Family”: Lyra is not a “third wheel” in their pair. She becomes their shared goal, their secret, and, in essence, their adopted child. The need to protect, raise, and heal her transforms Kai and Ranafer from lovers into partners whose bond is now sealed not only by passion but by shared responsibility. They cease fighting only for their own freedom. Now they are fighting for her future.
