Chapter 28: The Shattering

Settings
Light and fire collided in a violent storm. Flora felt the force of the explosion tear through her body, hurling her backward across the cliffside. The Sword of Vengeance vibrated in her grip, its silver glow flickering like a candle in a hurricane. The Titan staggered, molten cracks spreading across its chest where the blade had struck. Malum screamed from its shoulder, his voice warped with fury. “You think you can destroy me? I AM VENGEANCE!” Flora forced herself to her feet, coughing through the smoke. “No. You’re obsession. And obsession destroys itself.” The Titan roared, raising a massive fist. The dragon swooped in, slamming into the creature’s arm and knocking it off balance. Aestus summoned a towering wave from the sea, crashing it against the Titan’s legs and cooling the molten stone into brittle black rock. “Flora!” Aestus shouted. “The sword reacts to intention — you have to strike the core!” Flora steadied her breath. The Titan lunged. She sprinted forward, flames igniting beneath her feet. The world blurred around her — smoke, fire, lightning, the roar of the dragon — until she reached the Titan’s chest. Malum’s eyes widened. “NO!” Flora plunged the sword into the glowing core. A blinding flash erupted. The Titan shattered into a thousand fragments of molten stone. Malum was thrown into the air, screaming as the silver light consumed him. And then — silence. The cliff crumbled beneath Flora’s feet. She fell. Darkness swallowed her.
